Easily one of the best BBQ place in DC, better than mission BBQ though could use some more sauces. Smokey ribs and very tender everything else. Good sides. 5 stars

My favorite UBQ is the one on New Hampshire Avenue, but this is a close second. The service was very prompt and we got our food very quickly. The menu is not the same as the one on NH Avenue, but what we were served was very good.

BBQ is good, smoked options include chicken, pork, beef brisket, and two types of sausage. Cornbread is great. Only three choices of sauce.

This is a pretty average BBQ place. But the food is very good. I had pulled chicken over a salad and the meat was most and flavorful. The staff were nice and the atmosphere was casual. Parking can be a little tricky.

Local BBQ chain, has several locations in Maryland and Northern Virginia. Good BBQ, burgers, and apps served in a kitschy Americana atmosphere (complete with several Velvet Elvises). The Urban Soul Rolls or Ugly Rib Tips are a delicious start to a meal. Their brisket is devine.

Wonderful lunch. Pit turkey, side super food slaw and a corn muffin.

Overall very satisfied with this place. Pulled pork was great, with lots of smoke flavor. The brisket, not as much, but decent. Fattier with more moisture would be better. Excellent sauces - the Carolina sauce with the pork was my favorite. Mustard sauce good as well. Mashed potatoes and gravy have tons of flavor. Collards hit taste notes exactly, although were a bit more cooked than I would have preferred. Corn bread was good, but cold.

UPDATE: There is a new manager, and the staff will not only check your order most of the time, the few times they've missed something they *actually apologized*, and even offered me something for free when I had to drive all the way back for the missing item! Much better than before, and the food is still great. The food probably deserves 3-4 stars, but the service is what dragged their rating down. I've eaten at a few Urban BBQ locations and I've found their food to be fairly consistently good, especially the brisket, but also the pulled pork, the ribs, the chicken, and the sides. If you get a salad, the Buttermilk Ranch dressing is amazing, very garlicky and perfect for a meaty salad. However, the last time I ordered takeout from this location I did not get any brisket with my Texas Steakhouse Salad, and I had to drive all the way back to pick it up while my food (and my wife) sat at home waiting. They did apologize, but it was somewhat perfunctory. For having to wait much longer than expected to eat, and to drive there and back again, I was expecting more of an apology, but not only did they not seem overly concerned, they did not even offer a side or a dessert. Not that I needed one, but the offer would have been nice, considering I had to spend twice as much on gas for this meal than I had planned thanks to their mistake, plus our dinner was delayed. I might even have more sympathy if they were slammed, but we eat very early, and the takeout side was completely empty and the kitchen was very quiet when we picked up our order. So if you really want to order from there, eat in or check every part of your order thoroughly. I made the mistake of tipping on takeout without checking the order, I won't make that mistake with them again...if I go back.

I never had a bad meal here. My favorite is the baked beans. The coleslaw is very good as well. The brisket is good but the pulled pork is better. The ribs are a tad inconsistent. Sometimes they are a little tough but always very tasty. The staff is very friendly and the décor is very cool.

First of all, the food was DELICIOUS! The music waa the best. A great blend of many favorites including the Eagles, the Highwaymen and some 80's music. Service was great too. Very attentive staff. Thanks for a super dining experience. One of our favorite restaurants to dine at.

Fun decor, very casual but with cool vintage signs and posters all over. Three kinds of sauce on the table, decent beer, quality ingredients. Little touches like free peanuts and carefully arranged fresh pickles on my burger were much appreciated. Server was friendly and professional. Fries fried deep brown and super crispy, yum! Really very good. And vegetarian friendly. Only negative is scuffing the bottom of my car turning into the parking lot, watch out for the dip!

Enjoyed this old time restaurant. We enjoyed the southern style atmosphere, ribs were fantastic, they have 2 dartboards and a ping pong table outside for continued enjoyment. Can't wait to go back. Will recommend to friends and family.

It's a strong high middle BBQ place just outside Olney. I'd place it above Mission and Red Hot & Blue, and under Dinosaur. While the menu is not as funky and expansive as it used to be, the BBQ is solid. The sides are also good, but not great. Collard greens, potato salad, super green slaw, were definitely not "commercial" but they were a quarter step under fantastic. I have not had the burgers, yet as the ribs are quite good. They have a brisket frito pie I want, and chili too... I understand thay have a game night on Thursday that my younger friends LOVE, and the bar service was pretty good. The bar is open late during the week. The cornbread was slightly sweet, served as a muffin, and had bits of corn in it. It was moist and well cooked. I did have to ask for butter, and if you have a serious peanut allergy, avoid this place - peanuts in shells are kept on the tables.

This place has an awesome setting. Kind of makes me feel like I did when I used to go to Hard Times Cafe in Laurel, Md. From the decor on the wall, to the bottles of BBQ sauce on the paper covered tables, this place is all around cool!! The food is delicious!!! I highly recommend Urban BBQ. The closet one to me is the Olney, Md location. But I've been to others that are just as awesome as this one is. Plus the Olney location is the biggest one I've been too. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
