I love Jane - the staff is friendly and you can't go wrong at any of the seating options. This time we sat upstairs just before the outside balcony. It allowed us to see the restaurant activity and the view makes you feel like you are in a Paris bistro. The food never disappoints - we all had the chicken piccata which is perfection! we finished with the coconut chiffon cake that sits in a creme anglaise - wow wow you have to go and try it!
We've made 165 trips in 8 years. This place has the best onion rings worldwide. Tempura style drizzled with balsamic. And the goat cheese pancakes were awesome. Sarah was our server and she is so good and happy.
I absolutely love this place, great food and service. There has been a long streak of birthday dinners from here for me. My favorite dish is the steak medium-rare and it's as good as it gets. Mashed potatoes are an amazing side too. I just enjoy the atmosphere in there, and big group friendly.
Loved everything about this restaurant. I can definitely see myself frequenting it, and recommending it to others. Loved the atmosphere, the varied menu, the excellent food and service. The coconut cake was amazing. Hands down the best dessert I've ever had, and I have a sweet tooth! A generous slice too! We had a party of 9, and everyone was raving about their experience. It's a home run!
Service exceptional! Food even better. Had the filet which was cooked perfectly. Husband had the veal - best he ever had.
Awesome goat cheese pancakes with smoked salmon, sour cream and caviar.
Great food! My 4th visit and always leave very happy with food and service. A friendly, professional restaurant.
Amazing food and service. Don't skip the red onion rings. With 5 diners all very happy with their meals says a lot.
Party of 5 including foodies from SFO. We noticed that everyone cleaned their plate. Next time? Please, only 1 piece of coconut cake for dessert.
I've always had such amazing meals and experiences at Jane! All I can say is it's top notch! The scallop salad at lunch is the best!!
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Portion sizes are just right and we were not rushed at all.
One of my favorite restaurants, the food is superb, the staff is friendly and cheerful every time I come in. I recommend it to all my friends.
My sister, cousin and I stopped for dinner before the theater next door-Arlington. We didn't have a reservation and the were almost booked, but they have a large, long communal table, where we were seated. Food and service were wonderful, and friendly. Specials and regular menu gave great choices, steaks, fish, pastas, burgers. Large wine list.
I was there 4 years ago and fell in love with the chicken piccata... came back 1 week ago, took the chicken piccata again and wow!! Still amazing, thank you!
Love this place! yummy food, great ambiance and good wine selections!
My wife and I first dined at Jane back in Nov. 2021. We both loved the food and ambience so much that we ended up having our wedding reception there last month (March 2022). We reached out to the event coordinator, Meagan, who helped us reserve the upstairs mezzanine and balcony area for our big day. She was very responsive to emails, ensured out needs were met and made the whole process very seamless. She also provided us a recommendation for a local florist, Alicia, who did a fantastic job with the flower arrangements and tablet setup. The restaurant was perfect for hosting our small, intimate wedding reception.
The food at Jane was very delicious and all of our guest had a great time dining at Jane. The service was excellent. The staff there was very accommodating and ensure all of our needs were fulfilled. We went with the $70 preset dinner menu with some minor alterations to a couple menu items. All the food came our cooked to perfection. They are also known for their coconut chiffon cake and just so happened it was also our wedding cake...delicious!!! We highly recommend dining at Jane for their food, friendly staff, great service and ambience.
Found this little gem, completely by luck. The restaurant does not disappoint! The ambiance inside looked great, though we chose to sit outside. Our server was attentive and accommodating.
We started with onion soup, onion rings, fried brie and apple fritters, wedge salad. All were great. Soup was the best! Onion rings were flavorful but a bit oily.
Main course across our group was veal, trout, fillet, burgers and lamb chop. Everything was excellent.. the trout and lamb chops were the favorites.
Topped dinner with coconut chiffon cake which was a huuuuuge hit.
All in all, two thumbs up!

My favorite upscale restaurant in Santa Barbara. Nice atmosphere and beautiful food - both in taste and presentation. The staff are really nice. We had a birthday last time there and they were kind enough to light up a candle on their infamous coconut cake (btw you should definitely try it out). Their appetisers are great as well as their mains like duck breast and chicken sandwiche. Highly recommended.
This place is an absolute dream. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like, BUT you have to get the chicken piccata. I know it’s often left out of consideration when going to a place like this, but what a mistake! It’s absolutely the best I’ve ever had, maybe the best chicken dish I’ve ever had. The service and wine are impeccable. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. Can’t stop coming here and when I’m not at Jane, I’m dreaming of that piccata.
Very cozy ambience, good, great steaks, excellent cakes baked by their pastry chef, great food, desserts, overall wonderful experience, worth stopping by in downtown Santa Barbara🍷
A Santa Barbara favorite! Family owned at both locations the food is absolutely wonderful. Mark and Margaret do a great job! The chicken piccata was the best I've ever had, the service was impeccable, the inside environment is very tasteful, not overdone but very attractive. Don't forget to try the signature coconut chiffon cake.
Not going to run this place down because they were very friendly and accommodating but just not a lot of boldness to the food here. If you like flavors that play it safe, this is the place for you. I had the goat cheese pancakes and goat cheese is very distinctive but I couldn't really taste it. Chicken curry was also middle of the road. The chutney had only the smallest of spice. My wife said the same thing about her Bolognese. Perhaps our palettes are not sensitive enough for the subtlety. Dessert was very good chocolate marquise cake with raspberry sauce for my wife. I had the espresso.
Anyway not saying the food was poor in any way, but I like to be challenged a little more when I eat out.
Gorgeous restaurant. Delicious food , very friendly servers.
