This is the first place I ever had a real craft cocktail it was three years ago I’ve been to many other places since then and it is still one of my favorites. If you want something really different I suggest you try to Trinidad sour they make them great here.

My first time to come down from Solvang to this place. Met friends who go often. Great little setting, drinks and Jazz! Idiomatiques (?). Definitely coming again.

One of the best cocktail bars I've ever experienced. From the moment you walk in the doors, you realize that there is something special to this place. A team of craftsman that not only makes fantastic drinks, but truly appreciate the craft and art of bar tending. From house made syrups, shrubs and cordials, to complementary punch at happy hour, the owners and staff at the Good Lion have created an experience matched by none. None of their able are tippy, the sign of an establishment that pays attention to the details.
So Far, So Good! At the Soft opening of The Good Lion and loving it! Great new take on the old Marquee space. It's much more open and who can do wrong with a bar that's named after something Hemingway wrote... Will be back. Wish this Husband and Wife run bar all the best! The have what it takes to be the best lounge style cocktail bar in SB and I can not wait to see their full menu!

What a great place to have a drink after dinner. The bartenders were all very friendly and took the time to talk to us and explain how they made our cocktails. Super fun atmosphere and great people.
Hand crafted cocktails mage by tenders who know what they are doing. Wish I could stay longer.

I had the good fortune of photographing a wedding yesterday in Santa Barbara... during which, the bride and groom held their cocktail hour at The Good Lion. The atmosphere is fantastic, the decor warm and inviting, the cocktails are unique variations of the classics with a bit of modern flare and the bartenders and management were truly good people! The Good Lion is the cocktail bar in Santa Barbara. While the parent hospitality company had a few bars in the area, this by far the one to set the standard. They have an extensive classic cocktail menu, which you should not skip over. For my tastes I find this place best at happy hour, when there is a small crowd, but the bar is not overwhelmed. The bartenders are super knowledgeable, so if you don't know what to order, ask!
Best cocktail bar in town! I love the Full of parrots and the Spring spritz. They are only two bartenders, so come with an open heart and go to the bar to place your order.

Great staff and location on State Street. They make a ton of cocktail ingredients in house. It was the best Negroni I've ever had!

Hands down best cocktails in Santa Barbara, dare I say America, although I have yet to drink all the cocktails in America. This place serves magic in a cup with a twist of whatever flavor you are looking for. Tell the bartenders what flavors you love and they’ll make up a drink for you. But don’t do that, it’s annoying, cause all the drinks on the menu are delicious, even the ones that aren’t. You literally can’t go wrong, unless you don’t want to be right, then I don’t know what to tell you. If you’re looking for a delicious booze forward drink try the Improved Cocktail, it’s bourbon based with a splash of sweetness, like Ron Swanson AFTER he met Dianne and became a stepdad to two princess demons, I mean kids. How is a man like that so good with kids like that? We may never know, but thanks to this place, we don’t need to. Looking for something refreshing with more ice than a KFC sweet tea? The Ninth Ward is a summer delight, chilled to perfection. Also the Kentucky something. Ask for “the book” of cocktails... not just the menu they give you. The book will give you endless possibilities that may leave you flailing in anxiety about more life choices, but lest we forget, unlike the cruelty of life, whatever choice you make here, you can’t go wrong!
Great seasonal craft cocktails! The bartenders are very knowledable and very friendly here. They have a huge classic cocktail menu and have a rotating seasonal house cocktail menu. We love to get here early to get a glass of the complimentary punch. Some of my favorite cocktails here are the Bramble on (when they have it, it's seasonal), Green beast, Tangerine gimlet, whisky sour and the Gin fizz. They also have a fantastic Amaro selection which is great for settling the stomach after dinner. Cool vibe and design. Small bites are great! Not really a place for a full dinner. It's more of a before or after dinner spot. All though I have filled up on small plates and cocktails before. Great for dates or meet up with friends.
