Who doesn’t love some delicious Mexican food. I am a very picky eater, but when I find a favorite, they are my place.
El Chino is a long standing Mexican restaurant here in Santa Cruz, and I guess you could call it a hole in the wall. The shredded beef is to die for. My ultimate favorite is the ranchero burrito with shredded beef. When I get bored with that, I change it up to shredded beef crunchy tacos. But everything they have is delicious! I have never been dissatisfied. Salsa is excellent. I always get a 16oz to have some at home for the week.

Kind and friendly. They make sure you are comfortable and happy with your meal. I've been coming here since I was a kid. I really love the food here. The 1 1/2 pound borrito is my favorite. 😊
I have been to this restaurant several times and it is fairly consistent.
I planned ahead for a birthday party of 20 people. 32 people ended up showing up.
The staff knew we were coming so they brought in more people to accommodate thr larger party. The service was great and very friendly, they made sure everything worked for us and accommodated all our requests.
The food was as expected, not anything amazing but was very good.
Overall a very nice experience and we will continue to come here.
Excellent dinner, prices didn't go to high. Just a couple dollars more. Got mushroom enchilada and it was very good. My friend took a bite of it and will get it next time we go there. Went back and got a mushroom enchilada, friend got the same
When I lived in California, this place was the first time I tried authentic Mexican food back in 1998 and it blew my mind! The Carne Asada dinner plate was (is) the best! 10 STARS!
Staff is friendly, service is great. Food was yummy. Drinks aren't the best but totally fine and the bartender aims to please, most importantly the added price for alcohol with a meal was reasonable. Definitely a locals favorite for many years.
Food is very tasty and well worth it, but their take out chips and salsa is very overpriced for the miniscule amount of salsa given.
