The brunch was OK but could be better for the price they charged.
The service was good and the atmosphere is great.
It’s a good option if you want to enjoy the vibe of the restaurant but not care too much about the food quality.
This was our first time at the 1212. We didn’t make reservations on a Friday night. It was about 5pm when we arrived. They have an outdoor seating area, a bar area, indoor and some private seating. When you go inside, it's two floors with the center cut-out. You'll notice a dj booth/stage. On the weekends, it becomes a nightclub with a cover charge or free for customers who dine in. The staff was very friendly and professional. They sat us down quickly. Our server was Nike. He was great. Super awesome and fun. He shared his recommendations and his favorite things. Very helpful. The vibe is just great! They have a happy hour until 6pm. So for me the food was ok. The other people with me really loved the Sicilian burger with fries. It good with or without the three cheeses. The Brussels sprouts were my favorite thing and the only thing I really liked. I was not crazy about my pear and gorgonzola ravioli dish with a salmon on the side. It was not flavorful. The white wine I had was pretty decent and the mango splash was ok. However, I enjoyed my time there and I hope to come back again to try something different next time. Apparently, there is a pool table on the second floor.
Wonderful atmosphere. We very much enjoyed the couches around the fire pit for dinner. The perfect place for dinner with friends. The flowers were spectacular, I especially loved how they were displayed in. The utility pouch is often use on movie sets for their grips. Very cool
Good music! Great food!
Something as simple as a Avocado toast looked luxurious with moz and salad on top. Definitely recommend it for some early peppy brunch....apparently becomes kind of a club in the evening.... will go back in the night.
It is 21+ only restaurant and card people if you are going inside so pls be aware of the same.
Located at the north end of the promenade in Santa Monica. Parking- in the parking structures. Visited on a Sunday for a quick brunch and the upstairs has a DJ and music. Music was pretty loud if you have small kids. Service was pretty good. The food was really solid as well. Wife ordered the sausage plate and I had the eggs Benedict with mushrooms and prosciutto.
Amazing spot in Santa Monica !
Dog friendly patio (loud atmosphere though so if your dog is skiddish it may not be the best spot). It’s a great spot for people watching in Santa Monica right in one of the busiest streets. There is a parking structure on 3rd street that’s $2 for 2 hours.
So many options (vegan and otherwise). The drinks were on the boozier side so account for that. Service is quick and pleasant.
I normally don’t prefer pre-dressed oysters but there’s were actually delicious paired with jalapeños and grapefruit (a nice mix of spice and refreshing citrus). The Brussel sprouts are a must if you love Brussel sprouts. Their salmon and couscous is delicious with a smidge of tzatziki on the plate to dip into. Their gnocchi was perfection (just wish there were more gnocchis to tomatoes).
Overall, will be back.
Atmosphere is a bit wild / day drinking type and loud so come with that expectation (and make reservations!)
Food and drinks taste great, and great prices! I love their happy hour menu and small bites. Perfect for catching up with friends and enjoying the promenade views. Only downside is the music is too loud to chat without raising your voice and the service is a bit slow, but the food makes up for it in my opinion.
Dinner was amazing but the service was most impressive! We walked in as a group of 9, 25 minutes before closing. Not only ndid they allow us to dine but their service was above & beyond. Our waitress, Anna, was so knowledgeable about the menu and had the most sweet personality. My family and I highly recommend this restaurant!!
Arrived at a very good time as it had not filled up but did shortly after. Staff were very attentive and kind. Food was top notch. Had the chicken sandwich and the pesto was perfect. Blackened chicken salad was also very flavourful and fresh. Prices were along par with most other local restaurants with a more upscale feel.
The place is a night club at night but we went for brunch on a Saturday. It was very nice and the food was great. It is VERY loud inside with hard surfaces and a DJ blasting music, it would be hard to hear inside. We sat outside which was very nice. The service was excellent as was the food. I would go back. Only issue is that it is in Santa Monica, and there were some troublesome people wandering by talking to themselves right where we were sitting. Lots of young people even at 11 am on a Saturday, dresses like they were going clubbing. The bouncer guy was great and had a funny sense of humor, but the hostesses seemed a bit out of by everyone.
I went on a Sunday, and for a gather multi generational gathering. The music was excellent but it was loud. We couldn’t talk much, but the teens I was with loved it. The food was excellent as well. I had the lasagna and the others seafood. Everything was very fresh and hot. The garlic bread was $7 but worth it. It was too big for me to finish and it was hot, fresh and the perfect compliment to the to lasagna. My friend had the blackened chicken salad and she enjoyed it as well. I think if you are looking for a place to bring out of town guest, looking for a Sunday brunch spot, want a nice restaurant to visit in Santa Monica, or want to listen to good music, and don’t mind loud music this is a great spot. I will visit again in the future. I hear they have jazz and I would be interested in checking that out one evening.
Good food, a bit overpriced for the "upscale casual" vibe but we enjoyed it. Everything was good, the burrata salad was probably the better dish. Waiter was friendly and accommodating. Old-Fashioned were great!
Stopped by because of the happy hour sign & everything was so good! Barbara was so good & on top of everything. She even helped us when we had a small issue. The drinks were good & the wings were bomb! Also loved the charcuterie board and the parm fries were so tasty. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in the area!
A thousand reasons to love this place.
The atmosphere is warm and comfortable with fireplaces and relaxing live music. The food is excellent with plenty of choices ranging for two different budgets if you come at happy hour. And the service was top tier, we arrived with just an hour to eat and they got our 3 appetizers and 3 main courses in 30 minutes.
Anna, our waitress, was on top of it all and very friendly. Will come back!
For a Sunday it was very chill. Will was the BEST! He took very good care of my friends and I. He was very patient, when we weren’t sure what to order. He was very attentive and kind. Definitely the best server I’ve had in a while. Definitely coming back here just because of his service. Thank You Will for a great Sunday!
I had an amazing experience at 1212 again. I had Vegan mushroom risotto which was absolutely delicious and Marina the bartender was so attentive. They have super friendly staff. Definitely will be back again!
Previously I wrote a negative review because I was upset about a partnership opportunity that was denied. I appreciate 1212’s sincere response and I have reflected on my own response. Truthfully I have had wonderful experiences at this restaurant, whether it has been dinners with friends or drinks at the bars. 1212 is also a very fun destination when it turns into a nightclub on the weekends. The salmon dish is one of my favorites and I highly recommend it.
