I have been waiting to have one of the State of Florida's best Reuben sandwich's. I have followed them on twitter for a long time. Every-time I would see a post it would make me want to drop what I was doing and drive to get a Sandwich. I finally did yesterday and it did not disappoint. Everything I was hoping for plus some. 5 stars from me! That was a great sandwich and a great Sarasota Experience!
A great little diner in the middle of Gulf Gate. The best ruebens weve had in Florida. 1/2 pound of corned beef, great dressing and coleslaw. Will go again and again
We had a great experience. Super cool little place. Good food, good service. We'll be visiting again for breakfast!

Best reubens hands down. Burgers, fries, slaw are all also great. Rice pudding is amazing! Rocky, the owner, was super friendly and helpful.

Great Reuben, great dog. They advertise there were voted Best Reuben in Florida. Of course I had to try the Reuben and found it to be excellent. They offer different meats, corned beef, pastrami and turkey. I went traditional with the corned beef. It was a large warm sandwich, messy and delicious. It could very well be the best Reuben in the area. HH & DD offers lots of soups, sandwiches, hot dogs, 1⁄2 lb burgers and even dinner items. The Reuben is more expensive vs other sandwiches offered at just over $10, but worth it.
While the sandwich was plenty big, I also really wanted to try one of their dogs...so I did. They have several named dogs, I tried the NYC (mustard, onion sauce and sauerkraut). One nice thing about playing restaurant reviewer is you learn things. The onion sauce was not what I had expected, but doing a little research after the fact I’ve learned what I had today was very authentic and a popular dog available from pushcarts and hot dog stands all over NYC. Did I like it? Absolutely. It was also large and one is plenty of food for a meal.
It is a small place with 5 tables. One wall has several autographed photos and other items. They were not as busy as they should be when I was there for lunch. They also deliver food to the various bars in the Gulf Gate area for those thirsty as well as hungry. Not a bad option at all.
This place is awesome. Great quality food, hearty portions, authentic. The filet mignon sandwich is outstanding. They also deliver to the bars at Gulf Gate. If you're thinking about going here or munchies, Ham Heaven is significantly better in the quality of ingredients and overall taste.
