Great spot for lunch. We ate here twice. We had the falafel, gyro and the fattoush salad. All were very good. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. We'll be back
Excellent food. This was really good food. I am surprised in that I didn’t think I particularly liked Mediterranean food, but this food really impressed me. I had the Shawarma Platter with Tahini sauce. The small slices of meat must have been marinated in something good. I was halfway through before I thought to even try the sauce and that was its own distinctive taste. I like flavor over bland and I sure liked my lunch today. My wife raved about her Lebanese salad and the sample I had was very good. Maybe we were really hungry. She kept sampling the Hummus from my plate and we ended up buying an order to go.
Sahara Café is an order at the counter they bring you your food kind of place. I felt the order taking was a bit too businesslike. They have a few menus at the counter, no menu board and no paper menus scattered around. We just grabbed one of the counter menus and took it back to a table to figure out what we wanted. That worked fine.
There were about a dozen tables and most were being used during our visit. They also have some grocery items along one wall. Sahara Café is located just south of Sarasota High School before you get to Bahia Vista St.
Every time I visit Sarasota this is a must go place to eat. Love all menu items . Every is sooo tasty, fresh, and the place very clean. Staff is friendly.
The very best falafel and wraps. Reasonable prices and an interesting Mediterranean goods offering.
Best Lebanese food in FL. My husband and I live in Tampa, but whenever where are visiting Sarasota we make sure to stop at Sahara's for a great & well priced lunch. I wish they would open one in Tampa!
What a cool place. Real, amazing food and large portions. The staff was nice, it’s cool to support local family business, especially unique, hidden gems, like Sahara.

My husband and I came here right before they closed. He had a gyro with French fries that I didn’t get a photo of. It was good and was a fair price. I got a beef kafta with a Greek salad. I loved the Greek salad. It felt fresh. The meals were both good but average. I think it was worth the price paid and I would recommend this restaurant for a quick meal.
The caffe service was quick & friendly at the front desk.
I had a Gyro platter with fries & Baba Ganouj. The food was served quickly & fresh.
Overall, great experience, flavorful with several options for the customers.
This place is so good! Good food and fresh made, friendly service. Very affordable!
Also loved the ability to buy some fresh prepared items like hummus, olives, feta, labne etc

One of my favorite restaurants in Sarasota. Food is always fresh and authentic. Their Tzatziki Sauce is my favorite and they have a small offering of items available to purchase in their market which are great.
Love us some Sahara Cafe. This is THE SPOT; you will not be disappointed.
A great little market too, with like 6 types of Za'atar.
Highly recommended
Definitely the best Middle Eastern food in SRQ! Authentic Lebanese, the Hummus is from other planet, Kibbe is crunchy from the outside and smooth from the inside. Tabboule and Babaghannouj are my favorites, even you can feel
Eggplant pieces in the babaganouj means no mixer use!
What can i say? I am happy i found my place to eat as i like in SRQ!
When we're in Sarasota, FL, this is the place we visit. The food is always fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is quaint, and the selection of goods on the shelves is superb. I typically grab a few items on the way out of the door. Get gyro meat or chicken on the platter. You'll get a lovely salad, tatziki, hummus, and pita. Best hummus by far. The locals love this. I know, I was one.
100% Spot on Mediterranean food! The falafel is the best I have ever had. The meat ball are a flavor bomb. Get in here if you haven't already!
Nice clean shop and good food. Only chicken and lamb halal
Love their falafel, I probably get it once a week with humus. They have amazing babaganush. The euro is good, it’s like 8 or 9 bucks with fries, it’s a good value.
Delicious!!!!! I am so happy I decided to stop in for lunch and check it out.
The falafel is airy, light and perfectly crispy. All the textures. Add the tabouli for more yummy green in diet. It’s the perfect sandwich. I need one right now!
