The steer tenderloin was one of the best steaks I have had and for half the price of the competition. My Husband's German food was also excellent. He also bragged that the coffee was actually hot. The service was excellent.
Great time here. I’d recommend the pretzel and cheese spread appetizer. All the German Specialities on the menu were very good. The veal cutlets were especially good. Great staff and wonderful ambience. This is a great Wisconsin supper club
Passing through the area I made a special trip out for the Friday Fish Fry. The fish was really tasty with a light crisp breading and tasty fish (haddock I think). Sides were uneventful and the coleslaw was so sweet it was inedible for me, but the fritters were delicious. I’d say you really come here for the throwback atmosphere that elevates a 3 star review to a 4.
Wide variety of German and American dishes on the menu. Outstanding deserts, very attentive staff makes for a memorable dining experience.

Excellent and authentic German fare! The best Sauerbraten I have ever had (with one possible exception). A beautiful and quaint venue that reminds me of Bavarian. Also, what a beautiful place for a wedding! I wholeheartedly recommend!
We loved the atmosphere. The staff is very inviting and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and made perfect suggestions for us as far as what we'd like. She was a sweetheart as well! The food was DELICIOUS!!!! We will certainly go back!
Very friendly and gemutlich restaurant. Literally means “small village” haus (restaurant). Owner Rebecca and server Stacey were both so friendly and helpful. We went for my mom’s birthday and they both sang Happy Birthday to her. German food is delicious and authentic (we are German and know the difference). Draft German beer nice and cold, and signature Old Fashion cocktail yummy. Loved the bacon wrapped liver appetizer. Worth the drive from Madison.
