My husband and I got married at Soho South in August. It was everything we hoped it would be and more! Alysse was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process, and the staff the night of the wedding were very courteous. We still get compliments on the food - I loved how we were able to customize our menu (highly recommend the sliders). The downtown location and the decor gave us that Savannah feel with a modern touch. We would choose Soho South over and over again.
Great chicken and waffle dish. Nice spicy kick to the tender chicken fillet just as I like to. The cucumber and tomato salad was nice and tasty as well. Fish tacos were nice and flavorful. Fried pickles were a little cold yet still kind of crispy with a great jalapeño ranch dipping sauce.
We held our New Years Eve wedding ceremony and reception, and New Years Day Brunch at Soho South. I simply cannot say enough positive things about Jamie, Alysse, and the entire team from Soho South and Daniel Reed. At every turn they helped us customize the menu and experience for our guests. Everything was unbelievably beautiful and well thought out. Can not recommend Soho South enough!
Great atmosphere, with such a unique twist to decorations. The front entrance gives off a great vibe when entering, with the vintage bar, blue chairs, and artwork on the walls. We ordered the chicken fried chicken and chicken and waffles. Soooo good! The chicken was really good, with thin breading, good flavor, and it was not dry at all. We also ordered the tomato bisque before we ate lunch and it was really good as well. Can’t wait to come back!
My Lord, best food in all of our trip and that is a lot to say because every spot was delicious! On my next visit, I will start my first meal here and make sure I stop on the way out. The eclectic atmosphere was really appealing. The staff was super friendly. All Aces in my book!
When I go to Savannah, I have to stop by this place. The food is always great. I often order chicken pot pie, but anything else is very good as well. Prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere was good but got even better. They have been open for quite a few years I think. Finally, they now have a piano, and the guy who was playing today was absolutely amazing. We were sitting at the bar, and we could see his hands. They do not serve alcohol until 12:30 pm and you have to be at least 21 y.o. to sit at the bar. I absolutely recommend this place.
The food is incredibly fresh! I absolutely love the décor and atmosphere. You could tell that a lot of locals and joy mingling here as well as tourists. There is a separate area for the bar and plenty of space for dining. A definite must eat place!
Soho South was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. The space is so beautiful and well decorated. It was the perfect amount of space for our 75 guests. The location is ideal; its walking distance from most downtown hotels and even has an affordable parking garage right across the street. The staff is professional and the food is by far some of the best we’ve ever had! We still have guests talking about how amazing the food was, saying it’s the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. If you are looking for a charming space with wonderful staff and unforgettable food, look no further than Soho South!
Bright eclectic style and design!! This restaurant's twist on comforting, southern favorites has many options and can suit any picky eater!! My favorite is the grilled cheese with thick sliced bacon added and their tomato bisque is divine!! Order it as the Soho Combo it also comes with a side I tried the tomato, cucumber and red onions that were so tastely marinated. My friend had the chicken salad sandwich on buttery toasted bread with the mashed sweet potatoes. Our fried green tomatoe appetizer were awesome with the tomatoe onion jam. Stop in and enjoy lunch there you will not regret your decision.
Soho South Cafe was the perfect place for our wedding ceremony and reception! The staff and food were fabulous. The atmosphere is so unique. Leslie made our wedding dreams come to life!
David played tenderly, my song
From a spring romance in 1952 as I walked in.so lovely. As l Sat down, the nice smiling waitress said ,iced tea with lots of ice. She. Remembered.the salmon blt was perfect and the collard greens so southern and healthy. Everyone acted as though they were so glad we came, and l saw several people l knew and had not seen in a long time. I left happy.
The fried green tomatoes were amazing but the portions are ridiculous. Nobody needs to eat that much food. Got the grilled cheese combo. It came with a tomato bisque and a side. The sandwich is on Texas toast and they use A LOT of butter on the bread. The combo should be half a sandwich and soup. That's plenty of food. I was forcing myself to eat and couldn't even eat half of it.
I came here for a rehearsal dinner and I cannot get over how everything went so flawlessly. Im wasnt part of the wedding party, only a guest but I had to write a review. Ben , the manager of the venue I believe, was so attentive to all the little details, he made sure all the guests had a wonderful time and their drinks were being refilled and the decoration was set up properly. The staff was so lovely and polite and the food was spectacular. We had an amazing arugula salad, perfectly crisp brussel sprouts , mushroom risotto and perfectly cooked beef. There was also a selection of charcuterie and the option of drinks and beers was high quality.
We are so happy that we booked our renewal ceremony here! We were doing a very simple, casual vow renewal with family+friends that was more of a reunion, without a rehearsal. We were moving around the East Coast for the year leading up to our celebration so I was remotely researching Savannah venues. A lot of places do the venue and catering separate, but Soho does both and can accommodate allergies! This was the best venue for our fairly small budget.
We visited once, a year out and loved it! The location is great because it's outside of busy downtown but there's lots of parking and bars nearby. It looks just like the photos. Our guests loved it too! Even without a professional photographer, any photos taken will come out great!
All of the staff (planners, chefs, waiters, bartenders) were very professional and friendly!
One thing to note is that communication until closer to the date is pretty inconsistent. The best way to get your questions answered is to schedule a phone meeting. Not until we scheduled the tasting a few months out did we get consistent email communication from Soho. Sometimes our wedding planner reached out for us to prompt a response, but we were patient and persistent when needed. A lot of things get confirmed at the tasting meeting. In the final time leading up to the event, most of the communication was just between the venue coordinators and our wedding planner.
This was our experience with the food day of == We did the Southern Dinner buffet with a few added things and it is AMAZING!!! Truly the food is SO DELICIOUS, all of our guests loved it too! The meal was made gluten and dairy free which tasted fantastic, no one knew the difference. Unfortunately, the cobbler dessert wasn't made gf or df - I'm not sure how the wedding planner caught it. I was disappointed because I wanted to eat that but the Soho staff found alternatives very quickly and refunded us before the night was over. Besides the people that had allergies, none of the guests even noticed that happened and they LOVED the other options!
Keeping these things in mind, we still had a good experience! I recommend Soho South!
Very bright cafe work an excellent menu. The food was outstanding. I had three howling chicken sandwich... And man, did I crush that thing. It was really great. do yourself a favor - if you get a side with your meal, get the slaw... outstanding. We also tried the cobbler which was also great. My wife had the fried green tomato sando and she crushed that too. I mean, we love crushing sandos and these were sandos worth crushing. We'll be back for sure!! Ferda!
Amazing food, plus top-notch, friendly service, and wonderful ambiance/neat decor. The fried green tomato sandwich is out of this world. Highly recommend this fabulous spot!
This is my spot. The grilled cheese with bacon and tomato soup with an Arnold Palmer(sweet tea and lemonade) on the side!!! Yes... I visit this place very often and the server Claire is awesome. Great service, location and atmosphere.
The picture below is the Pork chop(heavily seasoned) extra well broccoli and tomato/cucumber salad with added olives.
A very relaxing and unique place. The food was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The service was awesome!
Perfect reception venue! They were very accommodating of our guests with allergies, have an extensive and delicious menu, and served up perfectly strong drinks. Intimate enough for a 40 person wedding but also large enough for a bigger wedding. Alisse was helpful every step of the way and didn't try to upsell us on anything. Thank you!
