Everything about our visit was positive. We stopped in on our trip to Savannah, looking for a fun place that served pretty good seafood. Tubby's checks all the boxes. The food is so good and tasty. The portions are huge and filling. The service was great as the staff are friendly and helpful. Our server was very thorough and on top of it. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. We sat outside on the balcony overlooking the Savannah River and the historic River Street. If we are ever in Savannah again, Tubby's will definitely be one of our stops.
We loved our meal at Tubbys! Our food was delicious - the crab dip was phenomenal. I had shrimp and grits (YUM!) and my husband got the peel and eat shrimp which he said was great. Portions were large, service was fast and we loved eating out on the terrace. Awesome!
What a way to welcome yourself to Savannah and The River Walk.
Located at the River Walk, this restaurant screams everything Savannah.
Food - At the recommendation of our server and countless other diners, we opted for the shrimp and grits, along with salads, and burgers/fries. No complaints here as all plates were cleaned.
Service- I think because we went early, we had no wait as we just walked up and were seated. Due to the extreme heat, we opted to sit inside versus outside over looking River Street and the River Walk. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs and kept the drinks filled and table clear of dirty dishes.
Atmosphere- I believe the best spot is outside over looking the street and river walk. As the bar is outside as well.
A must stop when in Savannah historic district and River Walk.
The main draw for me would.be the location. Right downtown near the water. You can catch a riverboat or buy some souvenirs after your meal.
We started with FRIED PICKLES and PULL and EAT SHRIMP. Both of these were excellent. The pickles were crispy and the shrimp came.out piping and seasoned to perfection.
The entrees were ok. Both got the PICK 2. I had fish fingers and scallops and my friend had oysters and shrimp. All fried. It's tough to stand out with basic fried food. Everything kind of tastes the same.. served with cole slaw, fries and hush puppies. The puppies were sweeter and very good. The cole slaw tasted like 90% celery. Overall dishes were solid standard fare.
They were very busy , but the service was pretty consistent. Our waitress was hustling to take care of all her tables.
I'd definitely give it another try and pick something different to see what stands out.
I visited Savannah and was told to visit this place as it's closing at the end of December. Sat on the deck, great view. Had the blue crab dip and fried shrimp platter. Everything was great! Whatever you do, you have to get the spicy garlic butter for dipping. They need to bottle that stuff and sell it. Oh, and the service was great as well. Too bad this place is closing.
Amazing friendly service! Food was very good! Loved the ability to sit outside and see the river. Highly recommend going here for a meal or drink!
We ended up going twice in one week. The first time, my pick two was blackened scallops and Buffalo shrimp. Delicious! They did not have a hostess, so they were a little under-staffed, but the service was great. It took a little more time to get us seated. The second time was with a large party. The crab dip is out of this world. Follow the server's recommendation and go with the bread! Our party was 14, and they added the gratuity to the bill. That information is on the bottom of the menu. Our server had already earned his tip before he took our order. He was awesome. I tipped him again! Kept the drinks full, followed up throughout the visit. Well worth it!
We sat at the outdoor bar - our bartender/server was friendly.
We enjoyed the blue crab dip appetizer. I had the peel and eat shrimp, hubby had the crab cakes.
Donesha did a wonderful job as our server at Tubby’s! She kept our glasses filled and served our food hot.

Amazing food here! Got the green tomato sandwich and also parm grits. HIGHLY suggest you eat here. Amazing views of the river and also Georgia Queen ship as well. What a place!
Great experience sitting outside on the patio overlooking the river. Nice atmosphere and views. Food was good. Try the crab soup, it was thick and flavorful. The salads were good too.
Great food great vibe great service. Generally expensive tho. You have a good view of the street and river from here. Can be slightly noisy.
Really good food, excellent cocktails and Tori was fantastic. Being local to Savannah, good food AND good service at the same place are rare. Ask for Tori!
I was pleasantly surprised by both the service and the food. We were seated 40 min to closing, so I wasn't expecting much (and I wouldn't blame them if it did fall short), but the server was pleasant and the food was good!
Great view. The place was hopping. It's worth paying extra for the parmeson grits.
