One of the very few places here in town that serve BBQ "Beef" Ribs! I've driven past this place 100 times and finally decided to go and give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by that atmosphere, decor, top notice service (very rare lately) and food! This place has excellent smoked BBQ and the side dishes to compliment the food are just as good. They start off by giving you a cornbread dish for the table which is dense and delicious. I ordered the "half rack" which about 4 bones of the beef ribs with a side dish of the Jalapeño cheesy grits. It was only $19. The beef ribs had a slight smokey flavor and it fell right off the bone. The grits was also an excellent compliment to the ribs. Starlight is a quaint restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was attentive, engaging and entertaining keeping all customers happy. This is a must stop in place for food and drinks!
Stopped by on a Sunday. From the outside it was kind of hard to tell they were open. Atmosphere was good. Good selection of spirits. Soft drinks were fountain type as was Ice which they could improve upon.
Selection of food was generous on their menu . Lots of decent options for those looking to satiate their pallet.
I asked them what theme of BBQ they adopt and they didn’t really have an answer but if I had to guess I would say Carolina based on the fruitiness of their sauces and the taste of vinegar. You get four choices of sauces. Star lite (tastes like honey mustard) , House (fruity and light hints of apple cider vinegar), Spicy (Probably the same as house but with a hint of cayenne), and Mole (a dark earthy bbq but with fruit undertones)
House Cornbread is served piping hot with a generous amount of butter.
The Main Course was a half bbq chicken served with a side of their house made pickles and a side of bbq beans.
Chicken was great. Perfect Temperature and Flavor consistency. The beans were pretty good as well.
This restaurant is so sweet and quaint. The people working here are so kind, far beyond the limits of Scottsdale. I was so impressed with how lovely the people working were and how quickly the food came out. I don’t eat a lot of BBQ often so I can’t make the best judgement call but I loved it and I’m sure you will too. The ambiance is nice and fun - we sat outside and it was cool and open with a big TV. I liked the picnic style tables but some may not. The staff is absolutely wonderful and gave the best suggestions, compliments and care - more than I can remember of any other place I’ve been in any recent time. I truly suggest checking them out.
The food is incredible. Very satisfying and tasty BBQ. The cocktails are nice too. The atmosphere is very upscale bar-like with large shared picnic tables outside and an actual bar inside. The servers were friendly but not super attentive. One of our ordered dishes never arrived, but we were so full that it didn't matter.
Had a really nice experience eating at Starlite BBQ. The place has a huge patio with lots of seating for large groups.
The complimentary cornbread was awesome. The portions were also huge. Fried pickles were stacked high and the Mac N Cheese side was enough to be its own meal! My only negative about this place was the flavor of the pulled pork. It was cooked well but didn’t have a ton of flavor. Thankfully they have four really good sauces which more than made up for it.
If you’re looking for a cool little barbecue place then you’ve found it. I’ll definitely be back and look forward to trying more of the large menu.
Great food here with the best complimentary cornbread. Happy Hour and daily specials, you can't go wrong. We wanted to order everything off the menu, but figured we would just have to go back to try the rest of the food.
Best BBQ I have found in the area so far! The baby back ribs fell off the bone. The brisket was delicious. The cornbread is served in a cast iron skillet. 4 sauces to choose from to pair with the meal. The Mole was my favorite however to each their own. Draft Beers, Wine and Craft Cocktails. Great house old fashioned. The whiskey selection is one of the best I have seen. Really a cool little spot with great food and really awesome staff!
One of my favorite little places to eat that is a hidden gem. I always get the mesquite grilled cauliflower. It is the best cauliflower I have ever had. The brisket is spot on, tender and juicy. We also bring our dog with us and sit outside. The staff always brings him a bowl of water, so dog friendly. I only wish this was closer to my home.
Absolutely loved this place for a laid back date night with my man! Beautiful bar, chill country music, attentive and sweet staff, and not to mention amazing food.. what more could you ask for?! The complimentary cornbread was also 10/10. Good job to whoever owns this joint!!!
Cute little hole-in-the-wall barbecue with a quaint pub atmosphere and excellent food. I got the pulled pork sandwich with the baked beans and it was delicious! Definitely give this place a try!
We had the brisket, the mac and cheese, fried pickles, and wings. The brisket was so tender, you could cut it with a fork ( to die for) the mac and cheese was very good, we loved the cork screw noodles and the fact that it was baked in a little skillet. The wings and pickles were also fantastic, and we tried and loved every single one of the sauces offered at the table. Yummy drinks, service with a smile, and delicious food. We will DEFINITELY be back!
Gorgeous and friendly staff!!
Say yes to their complimentary cornbread!!
The drinks are tasty, the food is delicious.
The Baby Back sandwich is piled high and generous
I wish I ordered the full order of brisket - it’s some of the best I’ve ever had
A toss up between the Starlight BBQ sauce and the House BBQ sauce - could t decide which was better
The cole slaw was good too but there was a flavor in it that I couldn’t pinpoint that didn’t agree with my palate
I really like this place!!
The food and service were wonderful!
My wife had the pulled pork with Mac n Cheese and I had beef brisket with baked beans. Everything were GREAT! The next time we are in Scottsdale we will definitely go back!
Hands down best bbq I’ve found so far. All three plates were on happy hour and the beef rib by far was my favorite. Feel right off the bone and tasted very well with and without their house made bbq sauces. I put their spicy bbq sauce with the fried pickles since they were a little salty but the batter was near perfect.
They have awesome full rack baby back ribs. They are grilled perfectly. But sometimes when you get the beans or green beans they we're undercooked two different times. Waitresses are very helpful and kind and deliver great service.
Came here and they were celebrating their 1 year anniversary. They gave us a sampler plate. They had one wing, rib, brisket, pulled pork, mash potatoes, carrots, corn bread and a salad. The wing tasted a bit sweet but I liked the texture, maybe I should have added some sauce to the meats which I forgot to do. All the meats and food tasted good.
We also got the Thursday special which is a fried spicy chicken with a side of fries. The fries are delicious and the chicken was spicy put wasn’t a fan of the jalapeño inside and the coleslaw on it. But it was okay.
They do have a happy hr menu for like the whole day. Hours from 10am-3pm & 4pm-6pm.
There is room outside and they do have heaters.
