I voted for this place even though it's not my favorite... The food is low quality and they don't have the best food at that... The good part about this place is the bar. If you just come sit at the bar for a drink and some chips and queso or salsa or a small snack this place is cool. The bar tender there most of the time is sweet, he's got black hair and is a muscular guy.. Wish I got his name, but anyway.. He is really cool and fun to have as your bar friend:). I would say just go to do the bar but food... Somewhere else...
Worth the wait!. Evening drive ended us in Scottsdale, we had never eaten at Los Olivos but are glad we stopped! Plenty of parking, long line (performing art center just let out) waiting for a table but it was worth the wait. The host acted extremely indifferent that anyone wanted to eat there (dare I say he didn't care?) Our server Nancy has been there almost 2 decades, she was great. Food GREAT and authenic. Beans like I remember from a kid, taco stuffed with meat, rice tasty without being too spicy. And yes, chips were warm and served with 2 types of salsa. This is a great place to take your out of town visitors after spending time at all the shops. The place can be a bit noisy, but after a beer and great food, who cared!
Friendly staff! Avoid the skinny margaritas. Food is pretty good, nothing fancy. Reasonable prices.
Classic. This is a must-visit for every newbie or tourist, as it's a Scottsdale institution. (Every band or act that passes through Phx typically stops off at this restaurant before their tour leads them elsewhere.) The food, service and price are all decent - it's a good value.
From out-of-town, and tried the place based on the number rating. Didn't read the reviews until after I ate. Ordered the green enchiladas, and they were excellent. I wouldn't call it a high end place, but it was clean and the food and service were good. I'd go back, but plenty more exploring to do in the area first.
Los Olivos Has Never Disappointed Before. My wife and I haven't eaten at Los Olivos for many years now, mainly because we moved from Scottsdale to Phoenix, but our experiences in the past have always been good. Ever since I was a little boy going to have lunch with my Grandma Conchita Hamilton or my Papa Rick, I have always ordered the same meal. I always have a Bean Burrito with a side of beans and lettuce. I love the taste of the flower tortilla with the tasty beans, all homemade, with a side of lettuce with a few chopped tomatoes and one olive. It the prefect-simple dish! After years of suggestions, I finally gave in and ordered something new off the menu, from a suggestion from my Uncle Ray. I had the Mary Lou with Red Chili Con Carne, and I must say, it is a really good dish as well. It makes me think of a Mexican Pizza with just the right ingredients. My wife and I have never had a bad meal there, that we can remember, but it has been a few years since we've been back since we moved out of the Scottsdale area. It breaks my heart to read a bad review about my favorite Mexico restaurant in all of Arizona.
I wanted a variety so I ordered the Minature Combo. It came with a mini taco, mini bean tostada, enchilada, tamale, beans and rice. I was really impressed with the two flavors of salsa. Good thing for me they don't ship!
A classic mexican restaurant staple. Yummy!
Ordered the sweet corn tamale, bean burrito, rice and beans (all vegetarian).
A bit loud inside, but worth it.
Plus they have salsa dancing on Friday nights.

I absolutely love it! Great, authentic flavor. One of the best I've ever had. Wish they would open a location in North Phoenix.
...I had dinner at one of my favorite little restaurants in Scottsdale, Los Olivos Mexican Patio. This little family owned establishment has been serving up fine Mexican food by the Corral family over 60 years ago. Throughout the years, they have maintained their family traditions in hand rolling their own tortillas and serving up their own unique flavors. Tucked away next to the Scottsdale Arts Center, this restaurant has a unique architectural design that helps brings an intimate family feel environment to it. On some nights, you can catch mariachi bands performing. I’ve been dining here for years and this place has always been special to me. Esta casa es su casa y vuelvan pronto.
