Absolutely amazing!!! My husband and I came in for date night and we left so happy and full and already trying to decide when we can come back! Everything we tried was fresh and made with love. We got the Ramen, the pickled plate and the karaage with black garlic glaze. I also had the yuzu Shirley temple which was sooooo yummy and refreshing! Each item was simply OUTSTANDING. I couldn't get enough. Presentation was gorgeous. I eat with my eyes first so it always stands out to me how the food looks before I try it and my soul was blessed when the food tasted as perfect as it looked! Our server was fantastic. She really made us feel like we were longtime friends catching up. Love that so much and it meant a lot. Seriously cannot wait to come back in! Thank you so much for making our date night an extraordinary one, Peculiar Kitchen!

I was looking for a place to get dinner while in town and found this location. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. When I walked in I was greeted and was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar which I did. Steve was my server and he was really nice. I started with the pinot nior and it was served in a small glass lol which I joked about. I also wanted to try the salmon tacos but it was served cold which I wasn't feeling so I had to send it back so I went with the fried yucca. The fried yucca was very tasty and so was the Indian dip they used. For my meal I got the curry impossible ramen. It looked great when it came out. It was ok in taste. The broth and noodles were good but the impossible meatballs were not the best. Its could of used some seasoning. The bill came to about $46. All in all I had a pretty decent time.

The ramen here is delicious! Not only that, but the daily specials are amazing! I've been once a week since they opened so far, and have enjoyed everything I've tried. The pork belly ramen is full of flavor and the slow cooked pork is soft and delicious. Tried the seafood curry special tonight and was blown away by his good it was. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

We had a 4 star meal but our server, Margie, took care of our issue and she bumped up the rating. I had the chicken meatball bao buns ($8) and the general tso's veal sweet bread feature ($14) while my girlfriend had the crab rangoon ($8) and pork belly ramen ($13). The bao buns were her favorite by far. Spicy, savory, and a little sour with the pickled peppers on fluffy steamed buns. The chicken is a little bland but the sauce definitely carries it. You get 2 buns per order which feels steep. A meal of these would be great, but not at $16-24. Peculiar's take on rangoon is more savory than sweet which may be initially off-putting, but the wontons were perfectly fried and the flavors work well together. Sweet breads were a welcome surprise and were delicious. I wouldn't describe it as general tso's, the sauce wasn't sweet enough, but the dark, spicy, cloying sauce and spicy fried rice were on point! The worst part of the dish was the massive chunks they gave you (which were awesome). The ramen was a disappointment however. I would imagine that for first time diners this is the go-to, most accessible dish and it was overshadowed by everything else we ate in terms of flavor and execution. The noodles were great, but the broth lacked seasoning and salt. Very bland. The poached egg, which is normally a highlight, was barely cooked and half disintegrated into the soup, much like the pork belly as soon as it was picked up.. The white was not set at all. My gf let our server Margie know she wasn't a fan and the matter was resolved easily. Overall, if you're there to get apps and small plates your bill is going to rack up fast and frankly I don't think it would be worth it, but their bowl portions and prices are excellent and make up the difference. Go for the more flavorful dishes even if you're worried about the spice, you'll be happy you did.

Had an awesome experience with this authentic take on true asian staples here at Peculiar up in Scranton! I highly recommend this spot to those looking for some uniquely delicious food with an Asian flair (although they are also branching into some awesome non-asian staples as well!) Don't miss this joint in your travels! 😁
