Service was wonderful. Atmosphere was amazing. Pricing was good for the great meal. We will make this a yearly stop, for our holiday visits.

Food was ok and the staff was great and the owners pulled everything together quickly. We were a large group there to celebrate the life of a family member lost.

Quaint little restaurant right along the canal where pretty much anyone can find something on the menu they'd like. Wait staff was incredibly kind and very helpful and accommodating for the party my family had there. Some fun perks, you can sit out and eat on their patio on a nice day, and since it's right on the canal you can even get there by boat and dock up right outside. That being said there is arguably more boat parking than car parking, so be ready to walk a little bit if it's crowded. Food was tasty but definitely could have used some extra salt as the plates of most of the people I was with were a little bland, but otherwise still good.

I officiated a wedding here recently, and the owner was pleasant and made the reception area beautiful. The buffet was outstanding and delicious. I will be back with the family for sure. The outside might not be perfect, but the food and staff make up for it

White Whale is worth while they have been around awhile and their decor shows it but a genuine german meal they do serve up hot and fresh. The veal was delicious as was the potato pancakes. Seems to be a real hit with the locals hidden in the cove. I'll definitely go back nice to sit out on the patio in a warm autumn evening.

I really loved this place. It was my first time trying it and I brought the whole family. The owner Henriette came out to say hello and welcome us. She recommended the scrod oreganato, a dish I make at home a lot when I go fishing. It was light, flakey, fresh tasting and delicious. The waiter was super nice and patient with my kids, and that's always a big deciding factor for me. They even depleted the bar's supply of orange slices cause my youngest kept whining for more. The food is good and the people were really nice to us, but what I like the best is the unchanged decor. Its got a throwback all-wooden nautical feel that reminded me of the waterfront restaurants during the 80s. A lot of reviewers dont like that, but I do. Very local LI. It's like walking back in time into a salty wooden fishing boat, Don't change a thing!

Love it here since its up the block from my house, however at times it is hit or miss. either the food is the best or not so much, but more times better than not. waiters/ waitresses are always friendly but theirs usually an older crowd attracted here.

The white whale is always a good solid neighborhood restaurant, a great choice when you want to have a last minute meal or a family party. I really like some of their German selections which are great not only for Octoberfest but year round
