Fun beachfront restaurant. Love sitting in the window for brunch or dinner. Classic American food and drink, great for family. Eggs Benedict with salmon was great. Parking on Main Street can be difficult
Great location right on the waterfront with the beach across the street. Street parking only but I didn’t have issues finding a spot within a block or so. Atmosphere inside is nice and the service was good. Unfortunately all of the food was very bland. There just wasn’t much flavor. I had a clam and mussel pot and ate it all, I just had to add salt to every bite. This was a little disappointing given that the prices are not cheap. Maybe just an off day in the kitchen but still a bit disappointing.
They got the Seafood (Fish n Chips, Shrimp n Grits, Salmon etc), Burgers n Sliders, Daily Specials! And a front view to Seal Beach Pier… you can even see Catalina Island from their place!
This place gives you a beachfront view. What more could you ask for. The service is great. Everyone seems to enjoy what they do. My old fashion was delicious, and my chicken pesto sandwich was perfect.
When you're looking to experience the seafood of the Pacific Ocean - The Hangout has got it, hands down. After flying in from New York and attending a Dodgers game in 90+ degree heat, I needed something light but flavorful. I had the "Bounty of the Sea Pot" - which was literally a pot filled with shrimp, calamari, clams and mussels all done in a garlic lemon and white wine broth. It was huge and beyond amazing. To know that my order was literally caught across surf at Seal Beach. Alexis my server was beautiful inside and out. Couldn't have had a more pleasant experience then at The Hangout.

Our first time here. We love these little funky kind of places that have that cool vibe. This is one of the VERY few joints that's Beach front too. So upon entering, we were greeted promptly and we were told about a 15 min. wait. Okay, no problem the place was pretty jammin'. Once we received our text that the seats were ready, we were placed in a comfortable booth and got our menus. Our only small issue is that we did sit there for quite a while without so much as a "Hi" In fact we we're going to wait an additional couple of minutes and then walk out. It was pretty busy and our server had a huge section, but C'mon, acknowledgment is all we were looking for. The server got there just in time and everything from this point forward was pretty normal. My husband got the blt breakfast sandwich and I got the rancheros. Being on vacation I thought to treat myself to a mimosa flight that was offered: Orange, guava, cranberry, and pomegranate were on the flight. Both dishes came out quickly and smelled amazing. The food looked just as good as it smelled and tasted pretty freaking awesome for our first meal of the day. The total bill for this breakfast was pretty reasonable for where we ate and its location. This is a great place for a chill vibe and comfort eats, just realize it gets busy and there will be some kind of wait for a table and possible server.
The bartender was great. She really took care of us and was attentive. The food was a bit dry but the atmosphere made up for it.
The proximity to the ocean is amazing. We could see the ocean while eating lunch. I had the fish and chicken tacos with were very favorable. If I am ever back in seal Beach I will definitely give them another visit.
Right on the beach, food was delicious but watch out for their Bloody Mary's . . . So good, but soooo strong! Will definitely visit again next time we're at Seal Beach.
Stopped at the Hangout this morning after a beach cleanup. Was a little busy so we decided to sit at the bar which was full service. We opted for breakfast and breakfast cocktails. We got the breakfast tacos and a breakfast burrito. Both were quite tasty and very filling. The breakfast cocktails were also quite tasty. I recommend their house made guava juice. The staff was super friendly and the facility is nice and clean. It's a beachfront spot so parking is tight or for $$ but worth it.
We moved to Seal Beach few months back and this place became our go to place for burgers, quick bite to eat with good service and ambience. They have one of the best j jalapeño burger I have ever tried. They have very generous portion sizes for their food which you probably will not be able to finish in one go. After a great meal there, when you exit you stepped out on the seal beach pier. I can’t ask more when you can breath ocean fresh air and see no horizon miles and miles beside ocean and sky hugging together after having a hearty meal.
Great appetizers. Beers were cold. Waitress was good. Calamari was excellent nachos were good. Don't know if I'd get strawberry cucumber margarita again but wasn't bad
The wait time was a bit long but that is expected for a Saturday morning. Our waitress was very friendly and was able to split up the bill between a few separate tabs. I got the spicy chicken and waffle dish and it was delicious. The mix of sweet and savory with some spice was just what I needed.

The food here is great. For a appetizer I got Mac and cheese. For entree I got steak. I highly recommend eating here. We were able to eat outside because we had dogs with us. The waitress was really friendly. She was also friendly to our dogs.
Went on a Friday morning and there were lots of 2-hour parking spaces available. Parked aways from the restaurant to take a little walk in the sunshine. We had a great view of the pier from our window seat. Best shrimp and grits I have ever had. I also added an egg on top of it. Yummy! The hubsky had the El Diablo omelet and he enjoyed the spiciness from the sauce and grilled jalapenos. I would love to try the Jack Daniels Bread Pudding french toast the next time we are there! And the chicken fried steak and lots more! Found a "new" breakfast spot! Woo hoo!
