One of the best Asian restaurants in Seattle. I am vegan and the chef was gracious enough to make sure I had a couple of items made just for me in addition to what they had on the menu. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that. Our server Eddie is a hoot and excellent at sensing our needs and being responsive. Loved our group dinner here.
My first visit and I noticed the very clean, calm atmosphere, they were pretty full but we were seated very promptly, the wait staff was extremely professional, upbeat & friendly. They were very attentive but not overly to the point it was annoying as some places I have visited. Even with the many customers the food was served quickly and cooked perfectly. Even though most of the menu choices I am not very familiar with I can say the dish I had (Malaysian coconut fried rice with prawns, chicken and egg) was absolutely delicious and my friend had the tuna tar tar which she thought was delicious as well! It was a great dining experience overall and I would definitely go again!
This evening I went to Wild Ginger after passing by many many times for some time now. No ya I figured its once a year I treat myself well. So the outstanding part is that the food was so right! Then the best deal was Kellen the waiter -- he did everything right. His name sounds almost like my nephews name Calvin...and the ladies at the front reception and Kellen's other server with water refill. Ya I'm impressed. The chocolate torte with orange sprinkles ya....everything was perfect.
Love Wild Ginger! Been going for over 25 years and it is consistently the best, always a delight!
Everything we tried was AMAZING and flavorful. My only complaint would be portion sizes compared to the prices. I shouldn't be hungry again by the time I drive home after spending over $350 for 3 people:-)
Delicious food, excellent and dedicated staff! A must do in Seattle! Open one in DC!
We had a very nice dinner with 9 family members, so many menu items were ordered. Some meals were more spicy than we had anticipated, but we ate it all because it was delicious!
Had a work week in Seattle and visited Wild Ginger after a recommendation from a colleague. This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. We got our meal in the bar and the service was very good.
I tried their famous fragrant duck and really enjoyed it. Would have liked to have had a little more spicy flavor, and would probably have gotten that if I put that into my order.
All in all, I would pass on the recommendation that I got.
Good place to grab a bite on your own if you are in town for a conference. Note though that the mains are meant for sharing. I sat at the bar and had tasty spring rolls. To get back to the hotel the waiter recommended walking up Union til you get to the right Ave rather than Pike.
I’ve been wanting to come here for so long cause everyone would rave about their food. I enjoyed the food but it wasn’t my favorite. I was expecting so much more flavor and to knock my socks off with delight. Don’t get me wrong it was good but wasn’t worth the hype. I was pumped to try the fragrant duck but it wasn’t exploding with flavor which I thought it would. The green beans were the best plate we got. We got one course to go along with the other stuff and it was plenty of food for two. Drinks were decent. Service was fantastic! They have a huge bar in area in the back which was cool but they haven’t reopened it since covid, bummer for them. Hope it picks back up! Very convenient place to go before a show at the 5th Ave.
The food, the service, and the ambiance of the place exceed expectations. The hostess was very accommodating when finding us a table. The food was decently priced and portion size was fairly large. I got the chicken Pad Thai and it was delicious- cooked very well. I definitley recommend this place.
We dined there on 9th Aug'23. Restaurant came with some good recommendation from my son who visited a week prior.
We reached the restaurant some 15 minutes early and the staff was kind enough to accommodate us quickly.
The food was excellent and the service just superb. We asked Ms. Bella who was our wait staff to make small changes here and there to the dish and she made sure our requests were met.
We ordered Thai Mushroom skewers, Malay chicken skewers, sayur lodeh, some fried rice and the fragrant duck. Every dish was well made, aromatic and tasty.
Highly recommend this place.
Excellent food , service, and ambiance. We ate here during our visit to Seattle and celebrated birthday. I will recommend Sayur Lodeh as the best dish we tried ( this is turmeric based with coconut milk).
The restaurant is very nice, and the food was wonderful. Our server, Garrett, gave us excellent service and was very helpful in selecting our dishes. The family style dining was very nice with large portions. There was a good level of spice to flavor the dishes without overpowering them. We were also served good drinks from the bar.

Really good food is always enhanced by great service. The spring roll app was fabulous; can also recommend the pot stickers. The mango salad was unique and quite tasty. Butter chicken and Mongolian noodles I would def order again. Lean into the apps, mains and sides though, dessert options were lack luster. While the food and my fellow dinner companions were excellent, the star of the evening was our server. I loved every minute of him. Thorough menu knowledge, attention to detail, problem solving skills w/o making the customer feel bad, genuine interactions tailored to his audience. Would 100% eat here again for the green beans and will request to be seated in his section. Fabulous experience thanks to "Patrick" but you can call him Eddie.
Service was great, friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in through the door. We split the half duck with steamed buns and the butter chicken between the two of us. 100% on the food. It was so good we're still talking about it the next day. We have nothing negative to say about our experience here. Loved the food, our server, and the location. If anyone from Wild Ginger reads this, thank you for an amazing dinner on our first night in Seattle. We hope to visit again.
We came to Tacoma to visit family that had recently moved to the area. They had been told do not leave Seattle without visiting Wild Ginger.
It did not disappoint. We had Pad Thai, green beans, pot stickers, spring rolls and seven flavor beef. Shared everything family style (4 people) The food was amazing and the service fantastic! Be sure to ask for Eddie, he will make certain that you enjoy yourself while providing a fine dining experience
An absolute must when you are in Seattle. Two years ago, we stumbled into this place and fell in love. Now every time we visit Seattle, we make a point to stop.
My wife gets the Seven Elements Soup and it is bursting with flavor.
Today, I got the Seven Flavors Beef and it really hit the spot.
We also tried the Chicken Satay for an appetizer and would order again.
Good atmosphere, good service, decent prices for the Seattle area.
Highly recommend!
Delicious family style! The cod was amazing, but everything was really good. Green curry has a nice amount of spice. Just a heads up that half the dishes have peanuts, so might be hard to accommodate with a nut allergy.

Knowledgeable and attentive staff. Enjoyed the sea bass and the butternut squash curry.
It's been nearly 15 years since I've been back to Seattle. The first place I wanted to eat was at Wild Ginger!! When I lived in Seattle, it was THE place where we celebrated special occasions. This time, I happened to be in Seattle during my birthday week. I took my friends who were visiting with me and they loved it! I was so thrilled!! Make sure to order the Fragrant crispy duck with extra steam buns, seven flavor beef, Siam lettuce cups (you'll want to order extra of these!), Sichuan green beans, mix of brown and white rice, green chicken curry, Hanoi tuna, Indian butter chicken, Chinese sausage & shrimp fried rice.
The downtown Seattle location is the original branch. It's the one I would choose. Nostalgia!
We had a wonderful romantic dinner with my boyfriend last night.
I'm so glad we chose that place to end our trip in Seattle.
The food was delicious 😋! We had the chicken satay, the squash curry and the coconut sago.
My boyfriend is very picky with satay in general because he's from south east of Asia and yesterday we were amazed by the flavour of every mouthful we had.
The service was great and very fancy for a very fair price :)
David was our waiter and he was such a great service provider. We had to reschedule reservations but there was luckily still room for our bigger party. Celebrating an engagement and the restaurant even provided a signed card! The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone ordered something different so we could all share family style. The 2 favorite dishes of the night was the duck and green curry chicken.
Had reservations early, on a Friday evening. Service was excellent, knowledgeable on the menu, friendly at the door. Menu was really well laid out with options for everyone at our table. We found the butter chicken was outstanding as well as the fried rice and seafood dishes. I would highly recommend this establishment. Everything was served timely and presented well. I have zero complaints. I have loved WG since its humble beginnings down by the waterfront, and it has yet to fail me. Wonderful. Can't wait to go again the next time Im back in Seattle.
