Came in on my way to a Waterways Cruise. Got served promptly, and my order in a timely manner. Rather loved having a stack of pancakes as big as my ugly face and some good bacon. Also got some good coffee in a snazzy blue cup.

Very nice place and will dine again. Even had Guy Fieri write a chapter in one of his books about the restaurant.

This is the hubs and my go to place to go when we want to have a home cooked breakfast without having to mess up our kitchen. The portions are huge and the staff is super friendly. And did I mention it's tasty. It never disappoints. One tip I have is to arrive very early if you don't want to wait outside as they do not have an indoor waiting area.

Okay, I would have never found this place if it wasn't for the fact that my car got towed and the impound yard is across the street from Voula's under the I-5 bridge in the University District.

The clerk, if you can believe this, locked herself out of the building and was waiting for someone to let her back in. So, it's lunch hour and she suggested I go try Voula's vs. waiting around, doing nothing. She said, "Guy Fieri recommends the joint." Like I care! Hey, with all his charm (Yeah, right! LOL) even the Guy has been wrong at times; but, what the heck. I had nothing else to do and, it was the lunch hour.

Good suggestion. Exterior, interior looks okay, nothing special. But, the food was fantastic. You need to know their portions are huge and even I couldn't finish the Greek Hobo - a concoction of sausage, onions (a little too much), mushrooms, hash browns and eggs all tossed together and served with a massive amount of cheese on top. (Yes, feta.) All in all, a very nice meal, but I couldn't finish it all.

I provided a 3.5 vote because I will come back again when I am in the area and very, very hungry. (By the way, you may need a GPS or your phone to navigate yourself to this place.)

[Side note: Good news was that I got my car out, without paying a tow charge, because the lady thought I was a cop! Hmmm, pays off to drive a black Ford sedan after all. Or, maybe it was my demeanor. Who knows?]

The good: Greasy, disgusting. Cranky-looking older men (regulars) occupy the stools at the counter. Humongous portions. Original ideas for their breakfast dishes. 1/4 block away from my favorite view of the space needle (from under I-5).

Great "No Fancy, FooFoo" Food!!!. Long, long ago, in my pre-kid life, I would head to Voula's for breakfast/brunch at least once a week. It helped that it was "on the way" to my frequent treks over to the Burke Gilman trail but I also just LOVED their food - no matter what I ordered. But then I had kids and the life of relaxed meals out, lingering over that last cup of coffee and reading the newspaper was gone. The good news is that the kids do eventually grow-up and start having lives of their own, and are then "little" people that I can actually take out places and just hang out. They don't mind if I want to have one last cup of coffee, or I am sitting browsing through some feed on reddit - because they are doing the same thing (although always a different topic than me.)
So we have started to visit Voula's again, and even though it has been years (oldest child is 17 now!) it is still the exact same. The food is still just simple dishes done right. I have ordered "Smokey the Salmon" the last three visits, but my boys love that they can order eggs, bacon and hashbrowns, or a country fried steak and there isn't any of that "fancy, foo foo stuff" that some restaurants add (this coming directly from my youngest's mouth, guess he is anti-foo foo) But what makes me even happier is that it seems to still be the same kind of crowd - I used to love going early in the morning, when many of the people just seemed to be good, hardworking folk and many were from the nearby boatyards. They reminded me of my dad, and of places that I used to visit back in Martha's Vineyard. Even though it may not be the exact same people (that would be weird, right?) I still get the same feeling - and that makes me happy!
So if you are looking for a spot to just get good "no foo foo" food and be surrounded by good people, you should definitely try out Voula's!!

I got the Pinata Eggs Benedict, one of their signature dishes, and recommended by Guy Fieri. It's a heavy meal and next time I would split it, but it was good!

This is the spot for breakfast in the University of Washington area. I’m normally not a huge breakfast-brunch person…oatmeal and some coffee normally satisfies my morning fix. But I wanted to see what he big fuss was about this place by my alma mater. Having ample parking space in their own private lot was a great first impression. Anyone that’s been to this area knows parking is horrible (I guess this is the case with most of Seattle) so these guys get big props for having a huge FREE parking lot for customers. Once you’ve parked there will likely be a wait of 15-25 mins during weekends. No worries though these guys have free coffee for individuals waiting for a table…very nice touch. It makes the wait a little more manageable.

Good, cheap eats. The breakfast here should be your only meal of the days. I think of it as a higher quality experience than Mays by the zoo but the theme is the same. Eggs and hash brown scrambles. I would probably eat here every day if I worked closer. It's awesome.

Voula's on Thursday. I am from Florida and was visiting my son in Seattle. Had seen Voula's on Triple D and decided for lunch. Great decision. Awesome food, Awesome service. We were greeted by every employee when we entererd, we were treated like regulars from the time we sat down. The huge breakfast that we decided on was one of the best I ever had. ( Awesome Greek Sausage) When we left, every employee we saw thanked us. A huge plus and a must for all of my trips to Seattle.

A breakfast that will last you the entire day!. Really great place! Make sure you are hungry when you go there because the portions are pretty large. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was excellent. My family and I didn't have to eat anything till about 8' o clock later that night.

Greatest breakfast Ive had in a loong time, I cant wait to go back and try everything on the menu. So much flavor in the Greek Hobo, nice big portions and excellent service from people who love and take pride in what they do. Voulas is a real gem in Seattle and a must visit, put it at the top of your list.

Worth the wait. And, you WILL wait.. I'm a hashbrowns addict. Nothing cuts through a Jameson's and beer fog like a platter of hashbrowns. Voula's has the hasbrowns to suit and then some. Super busy on weekends. The wait - to get in AND once you're seated - is as long as the servings are large. It's everything diner food should be. Do Voula's: It's an experience to be hashed over at least once. ATB-Jimmy

We keep coming back when in Seattle. We found this place after we got turned away from Aqua Verde's wait line. We were not upset about our discovery. Voula's is located a few blocks down the road from the U, directly under I-5. While this sounds ominous, I can assure you whole-heartedly it's not. The food is so terrific and the staff so friendly, "Drive-Ins, Diners, and Dives" stopped by here to sample the local fare. My favorite? The Smokey the Salmon, a scramble of fresh salomon, and eggs over hashbrowns. The most delicious breaskfast scramble I've ever had, hands-down. Also delicious is the Geezer Pleezer, which is Guy Fierra's personal favorite while there.

The food won't cost you an arm and a leg, either. It's darn cheap for how good it is. The staff is friendly and prompt (your coffee will never go cold), and if you sit at the counter by the kitchen, you'll surely get to talk it up with the busy wait staff or a local fisherman in to get some grub. We've gone back three times in three trips to Seattle, and I'm certain we will continue to go back.

Best Choice for In Town Guests.. I LOVE this place. The breakfasts are large and the pricing is not going to empty your wallet. When family or friends visit me here in town this is the Breakfast stop! Almost like stopping at Mom's for breakfast!

Bring Ur Appetite - OPA!. VERY busy place - especially popular B 4 sporting events. They serve LARGE portions of "comfort-food" and decent coffee. NO need 4 lunch after our Greek Hobo and Pinata Benny and really didn't want 2 pay for the over-priced food @ Qwest anyhow.
Tuff 2 find - worth the hunt. See our pics on urbanspoon.com

A good diner breakfast. The pancakes are light, the bacon is meaty and the eggs done just how you order them. Service is friendly, but when it gets busy, expect your food to take 30 min.

Voula, Voula, Voula!. For more reviews such as this please go to http://www.seattledating.wordpress.com.

Voula's Offshore Cafe in the U-District was the necasary fill for my Saturday morning struggles. If you haven't heard about this place yet, you may find that you've been living under a rock far too long.

This is a restaurant that was featured on Guy Fieiri's "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" and the owners are not shy about it: the awning out front has the Food Network logo on it, the entrance has a large signed poster of Guy, and the menu's all have Guy's recommended special. With all of the exposure this little diner does some big business, so expect to wait for 15 minutes up to an hour.

...so Jocelyn and I found ourselves, as usual, with a late rising Saturday morning, but both of us were absolutely starving so we headed out to Voula's for a not so quick, but perfect, fix. It's a diner like restaurant with a great view of a parking lot and the busy traffic of Northlake Way...but you'd sell off your iPhone (or whatever else occupies your life) for a bite of one of their Hobos. No, this is not some grim throwback to the middle ages where they serve up the destitute to hungry patrons. Instead, a Hobo is a delicious combination of eggs, hashbrowns, meat, and cheese. The meat and cheese are entirely dependent upon which Hobo you order. I'm fond of the Greek Hobo (or the Naked Hobo, which is fun to say), which gives some class to breakfast with a healthy helping of feta cheese and Italian sausage.

Jocelyn enjoyed the heavy, half inch thick, chocolate chip pancakes. A great order for anyone with a sweet tooth and a love of big soft pancakes. In addition, we both had bottomless coffee. No, it's not actually called "bottomless coffee", but they refill you so often you'll think you haven't had anything to drink. That is until you're bouncing off the walls.

This is a great breakfast place for the late riser with a taste for a greasy spoon. If you had a long and alcohol filled date the night before, this is a great restaurant to cure your common ills.

BTW, no, I didn't have to miss the UW game. Luckily they have it playing in a few choice spots in the restaurant.

Decent diner food, slightly disorganized. I'd heard great things about this place so coerced my wife into trying it with me this morning (Saturday). At 11:30 AM, there was a 10 minute wait (potential good sign if it's that busy).

Once seated, I ordered an omelette and my wife ordered a skillet. Thus began the ~50 minute wait. Yeah, the place was busy, but when the food did arrive it seemed fresh off the grill, as if had somehow gotten lost in the shuffle. Yes, the menu mentions they'll be slow, but this seemed extreme.

The bacon/spinach omelette was quite tasty, and came with an enormous quantity of hash browns and toast. Both were serviceable, but not inspired.

The waitress kept our coffee cup filled (always a plus), but the coffee itself was the basic unispired coffee shop coffee. Most of our other brunch places have excellent coffee.

In short, it wasn't bad, and they obviously have there fans. Nonetheless, I wouldn't rush back to Voula's.

The Benedict was so good! Loved my Pinata Benedict! I especially enjoyed the crunchiness of everything besides the eggs. My husband ordered the Hobo, and the portion was big! He was full the whole day after finishing the meal. The store looks cute both outside and inside, with a heavy American countryside style. It's great for taking photos. Already missing their eggs!

Service was really good here. Lots of space so no need to go early for a table. Definitely worth trying and a place you’d wanna come back to. Food was above average for what it was, a simple breakfast.

On my way back from Canada, I picked this restaurant because it was right off from the highway and looked enough parking spaces. The google map guided me zig zag but all was good. It was 8am Sunday morning when I got there but there were already people enjoying their breakfast with family or friends. I ordered blueberry pancakes and scrambled egg with smoked salmon. I’ve never tasted such chewy delicious pancakes! Lots of blueberries in the pancakes! So yummy 😋 The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon tasted too smoky but it was ok. I loved the cool waitress too. She was calm but quickly sensing what we needed.

voula’s has stayed true to winning formulas for years. next-level, efficient and attentive service especially given how busy it can get. massive portion sizes - their hash browns are sublime so i usually go for the hobos, but i’ve been impressed every time whether it’s a burger, an omelette, or a benedict. also a decent spot to watch football on a couple of small TVs on a sunday morning. perhaps a little out of the way but worth the extra detour every time

My partner, his parents, and I went here for brunch. Our waitress, Alicia, was a kickass lady. She was taking care of the entire back half of the restaurant with incredible speed and friendliness. Overall, I’d highly recommend Voula’s to both locals and visitors alike.

Wife and I went on Saturday for the first time. When we arrived around 9 the place was busy but we were seated shortly after our arrival. My wife order the Billy 's Biscuit and I got the French toast plate. My wife enjoyed her biscuits and the gravy was very delicious. My French toast was sliced thick, which I enjoyed and the bacon and eggs were great on the side.

The food is 10/10, the hospitality is stellar! This place has been kicking it since the 80s, the attention to detail the staff have, it's very special here, that's hard to find in places these days. I love how passionate they are about the ingredients they use in the food, my favorite dish is everything, I have it like they make it and then if I want to customize things, I can, but you typically don't have to here, it's delicious. All the food is fresh and the people here are lovely and welcoming always!

Great food with crazy portion, and the service is also really good! Smokey the salmon is really good, the salmon is savory and marinated well, stirred with scallion and egg makes it a perfect dish! The hash brown is also crispy on the outside and soft inside. Plus, it is literally filled over the plate! You also got four pieces of toasts (or two whole pieces) pan fried with butter. It really delicious and makes a great breakfast. The price is super reasonable with around 12-13 dollars. You will be really full and satisfied with the breakfast here, a definitely recommended brunch in the area!
