Amazing bagels, coffee that's coffee, and mid burritos. The The Agnes Agatha Jermaine & Jack with chopped bacon, heirloom tomato, arugula, and scallion cream cheese is one of the best bites I've had in Seattle! Egg based sandwiches have baked patties which always leaves something to be desired compared to a fried egg. Chili crisp latte surprisingly worked, but was too much for an entire 8oz drink. Best bagel flavors sell out early, especially on weekends, so be prepared to get there early if you want them.
We stopped in for breakfast on a Monday morning. I chose The Nino Art bagel sandwich on a Za’atar bagel and it was fantastic - a delicious riff on a traditional lox bagel. My partner got the burrito special, which had linguica sausage. It was also great! I hope to return on our next trip to Seattle. The only thing I’d do differently is order online; we didn’t wait long at all after ordering in person, but there’s no seating available, so you might as well order ahead for pick-up.
The biscuit sandwiches are a must! First trip I tried the McJoey, delicious. The next time I tried the Hello Mac Nasty, also delicious. Today we swung by here after going to the gym nearby and let me tell you, they have a new biscuit sandwich called the Mac-Monchy, which we tried today. It is slap-you-in-the-face DELICIOUS! Omg, i didn’t even eat it right away so it was luke-warm by the time we got home. But it is a 100% must try. We’ve had several of their bagels with cream cheese also and they are great if the biscuit sandwiches aren’t your thing. We’ll be back for sure!
So this one is tough. I'll start with the positive. The bagels are amazing. Definitely get a bagel. The burritos, however, are not so great. First, I got a different burrito than what I ordered, which was really a bummer because you don't eat there - so by the time I knew it was the wrong one it was quite time consuming to go back. But I really didn't like the one I got so I hoped the one I ordered would be better. It was, but not by a lot. The main problem is the very large chunks of bland potatoes. Small, crunchy, fried potatoes would be really good. Even my dog didn't like the large potato chunk that fell on the floor. But we will definitely be back soon for more bagels.
This place not only passes the NYC bagel test (right size, consistency, and spread-to-bagel ratios) but also has solid burritos and coffee as well! We came in right as they were closing and while they were out of many of their bagels, the ones we got still tasted fresh and delicious, and they even gave us a few more to take home for free since they were closing right then.
My husband and I read about Rachel's online as a must-visit spot for breakfast while staying in Ballard so obviously we had to check it out. It was a quick walk from our hotel and it was only a short wait to order once we got there. We each ordered a sandwich, I had The Ezzard Charles (egg, kale, oyster mushrooms, and scallion-cheddar spread) on a za'atar bagel, my husband had The Nino Art (PNW coho lox, scallion cream cheese, pickled jalapeno, avocado, cilantro, and onion) on a togarashi bagel. We also ordered an everything bagel with dill pickle cream cheese to share. The sandwiches were fantastic - so much flavor packed in! The quality of the ingredients is great too, everything was so fresh and delicious. The texture of the bagels is magical - just toasty enough on the outside but soft and tender on the inside. And the spreads? All amazing! The dill pickle cream cheese was my favorite - a must-get for all pickle lovers. I would happily return to Rachel's the next time we visit Seattle and if you haven't been there yet - I don't know what you're waiting for!
Absolutely loved my take-away meal from Rachel’s on a recent visit to Seattle. Left me craving more. Can’t wait to go back.
We loved our breakfast! We got the lox bagel and the biscuit w/ raspberry jam. It was all delicious, but the raspberry jam on the biscuit was the highlight for me. Bummer there isn't indoor seating!
I love Rachel’s bagels. The fact that they are completely covered in poppy or sesame seeds makes them outstanding in the crowd of bagel shops. And the bagels have a great chew whether you are eating them straight out of the bag or straight of the toaster.
A small but good bagel place. They only offer takeouts as of now though. Tried the tarragon cream cheese and was pretty good.
I would definitely comeback. I don’t recall the name of my bagel sandwich but it was really good. It was like upscale version of a BLT. The bagel had good flavor and soft. What really won me over was the heirloom tomatoes and bacon. Very good with the Everything Bagel. That was probably the best bagel I had. It’s just covered in the Everything Bagel seasoning. I can’t wait to try the other food here. They do offer chorizo and Oaxaca cheese for anyone that is a fan of both! They also had this Asian style bagel that had seaweed flakes that I didn’t get to try. I say it’s worth the trip. 🤤
Such a cute bagel place. We tried the Ramone and the Liam and Noel bagel sandwiches. A great way to start the morning. I also appreciated the inclusive environment they created. I felt that the values of the business aligned with mine! Hope to come back when I return to Seattle.
Good brunch spot in Ballard.
Expect a wait time on the weekends.
Drinks: The Kuma coffee is amazing! I’m not usually a fan of drip coffee; but this was genuinely great. The Tumeric-Ginger Rishi hot tea, is okay.
Food: You MUST checkin to yelp to get a free Beet Crostini! I’m not a fan of beetroot, but this was sooo good! The beet spread had a nice creamy texture and the added arugula makes it even better. This is a fantastic reward for a checkin.
Shakshuka: These are poached eggs in a tomato based sauce. It’s quite tangy and those who like anything marinara, will enjoy this dish. I did not so much.
Breakfast Bowl: These are poached eggs with kale and cheesy grits. You can add additional toppings. I got the porchetta. The bowl itself was great! However I wasn’t a fan of the porchetta which was way too fatty and occasionally hard and unchewable.
The service is quick, however I found it annoying that they don’t take your order at the table. You have to stand in line at the counter to place an order. It’s a bit frustrating because this restaurant often has a wait to get a table. And once you get a table you end up waiting in line all over again to place an order.
Such delicious breakfast & brunch with bottomless single origin coffee....DELICIOUS!!! My fav is pork belly with cheesy grits and poached eggs! And my bestie LOVED the brioche French toast! Everything is made from scratch and mostly local! And you better hurry, because they are closed by 3 p.m.! Brunch rocks!
Porkchop & Co turned out to offer such delicious breakfast food, outstanding service and really cozy ambiance.
Granted, portions are small, but food is so well done! I enjoyed my flavorful breakfast here.
While you order and pay at a counter upon entry, the staff brings you your meal to the table and checks on you multiple times. Very attentive gals and lads working here!
If you don’t leave a tip upon paying, you may leave a tip in a jar upon leaving!
I wish they opened early in the day, to enjoy their food before going to work!
An absolutely top notch bagel. We're very lucky to to have them right here in Ballard.
I wish they had other fish options than just lox(sable would be a great addition), just for some variety, but their classic lox bagel(Meesa B) is excellent. It is a little light on the lox for my taste, but probably the expected amount for most people.
