Reviews Mox Boarding House

One of my favorite places in the city. I can't have Entros any more, so gaming at this cafe is my pleasure. I bring friends and loved ones here often to learn new games, play, eat, and enjoy each other's company. I only wish it were as large as the Bellevue Mox Boarding House, as it often feels a bit too small and sometimes the servers want to pressure couples off of four-tops to make room for more butts in seats (and thus higher meal tickets), but the big tables are the only way even duos can play some of the more table-hungry games (let alone also have room for food and drinks besides). the decor is great, food yummy, decent wine list for the price, and the staff at Card Kingdom always has the best suggestions for new games when you're seeking them!

Great appetizers and a nice beer selection. The staff is really knowledgeable about all their games and happy to open anything they have for sale but don't already have available to play. A little broader food selection would be nice, but if you eat dinner first and are ready for beer, snacks, and games then this place is top notch. Highly recommend.

My wife and I heard about this place from friends and then from people at Geek Girl Con and had to try it. The restaurant was wonderful. We had some great food and being able to check out games from their massive library and play while we drank and ate. Our server i believe was Kevin was super awesome. He was polite and attentive for as busy as it was. The store front was very well organized and the person manning the counter was super informative and just lots of fun to talk to and discuss different games. This will be a place we visit when we come back to Seattle.

The game store has an organized and appealing layout. Easy to find games by type. Fun to browse. The place was clean and well lit. They have a wide selection of games to play for free while your on the store or restaurant. The cafe was surprisingly excellent! Food was great! I ordered the Cuban for lunch. We stayed until dinner so I orders it again! Also Beer selection is great! The staff was very welcoming. We had a great time playing board games and eating good food. Ended the night by buying one of the board games we tried. If I lived in the area I would frequent this place. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys board games or good food.

I love coming here to get out of the house, play a bit of Magic, and enjoy the nerdy energy. Staff is always very helpful whether it be a question about MtG rules, or making an incredible dirty chai.

Went here for the first time a few days ago and had a great experience! My expectations were surpassed as Mox has a large game selection, tasty food and beer, and super friendly staff. I wish more places had this kind of set up, it was such a fun evening and I'm stoked to go back!

excellent service with very friendly staff. They were also very attentive and had all of the games we wanted to play. The nachos can feed maybe 2 people, one very hungry guy. They don't mind you bringing your own food in, but they are stricter about how many people the room fits. They made it clear only 12 people to a room. But, a fantastic experience with them and I highly recommend it!!

My son is new to the world of Pokémon so I try to take him to extra fun places to buy cards. This was definitely fun. Huge store with lots of space and tons of tables. There is even a beautiful restaurant connected to it.

This is one of my son's favorite place to buy card packs and other gaming gear. Great atmosphere and great staff!!! Plenty of seating and one can borrow games here to play in-house.

Fun place to play board games and enjoy a drink or food from their attached cafe. Broad selection of board games in many genre, good for small and large groups. They also organize tournaments. Reservations can be made for work groups or friends and more to have your own space and play. Enjoyed every time I have been here and would recommend to any boardgames fan!

Very cool game store. Love the relaxed vibe and friendly staff. My son was able to buy loose magic cards at a fair price. I was able to get a coffee and relax as he and his friends bought cards and played a game.

An enormous one stop table top game shop with attached cafe and plenty of gaming space. To use a Books metaphor? This place is like everything B n N -wished it was- at its peak for bibliophiles. The cafe allows for gaming at the tables (within reason). The best feature that I have noted so far though is the card purchasing system employed by them. Instead of trying to cram display cases in too little space, they have 2 computers (or you can use their website from your phone or even at home) that allow you to purchase cards online. Once the purchase is complete, just walk up to the cashier and let them know that you’re they’re to retrieve them, and they’ll have them to you from their warehouse as quickly as they can retrieve them. Dozens of tables, with alcoves dedicated to every type of table top game imaginable. If you like tabletop gaming, missing this place is a mistake. If you’re curious to explore or learn about table top gaming, this place is a great place to start vs any box store….

Cafe Mox is a great place to grab a bit and play games. There are many game options available to play (for free). The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable about the games, and happy to provide recommendations if asked.

After years of hearing about Mox Boarding House, I accidentally walked past it while visiting Seattle and I'm thrilled that I stopped in: this is a beautiful game store. Their curated selection of tabletop games is phenomenal. Their tournament facilities look fantastic, although I did not have time to shuffle up and play with anyone. And the food in the cafe was surprisingly great, and not just for a board game cafe. On my next trip I intend to visit for a Magic draft.

Wowwwww what an awesome game store! It has a bar attached and you can play card or board games as you eat!! This is perfect for those late night munchies or game nights. Especially perfect for Friday Night Magic and drafting. I loved looking at the various dice! They even have LGBTQIA+ dice!! They had demi dice!!!! They also have lots of board games, DND stuff, war hammer gear, and kiosks where you can order magic cards and gear. Parking is across the street in a lot but spots are few and it fills up fast. There’s also a lot of homeless people next to the lot.

Mox is a treasure. The staff are super helpful in recommending board games and I've bought many games based on their advice. They foster a great environment where anyone can come play and feel welcome. The open spaces and restaurant space they offer for board games and tabletop games is fantastic. Their online discord community is also amazing and I've made so many friends because of Mox.

Excellent staff that knew what they were talking about and were super friendly. Also you can try out some games from a large selection or grab a game and sit in a booth with some food. They also have; tables for WH40k/SWLegion, a decent dice selection, tons of tables for MTG or what have you, and possibly one of the best and cleanest/well sorted board game arrays I've seen. I would recommend this store for nerds and new to board game folks alike. And if you are reading this Mox I don't remember his name, but your employee that is a head taller than anyone else was fantastic.
