The sushi here is amazing! I've been back 3-4 times and averaged 4-6 rolls per visit, they are consistent and delicious! The service usually leaves something to be desired but the job gets done and the food is good enough to make it a non-event. I have only tried a couple of the cocktails on the menu but they have been pretty tasty (just Ballard prices). The appetizers have been pretty yummy and consistent too.
After an afternoon at the farmers market we got hungry and instead of one of the many food vendors we opted for Shiku sushi.
We ordered several rolls and apperizers off the happy hour menu. The fish tasted fresh, which, unfortunately, is not something that you can say at very many places these days. Also remarkable is the fresh grated wasabi - I cannot think of anyone else in Seattle who does this, not even I Love Sushi.
I would definitely go back the next time I'm in Ballard.
One of the better offerings of a sushi happy hour, even on the weekends which is rare and cool.
We went in for a snack. The staff is kind and fun. Made good suggestions and had great conversations.
Being I always seem to make reference to bathrooms, theirs was clean and fully stocked:)
First time coming here and our server John gave us the best experience. I ordered the crunch roll and the California roll which tasted amazing. John was very kind and attentive to our needs which made the experience 10x better. Would highly recommend to my friends. Can’t wait to come back.
Absolutely amazing experience and would recommend to ANYONE!❤️ The music and ambiance was to die for and our server JOHN was THE BEST!!! He was so knowledgeable about the menu and recommended a special roll that I ended up absolutely LOVING. Food was absolutely delicious! Don’t walk - RUN here and ask for JOHN!❤️
Shiku Sushi is a Japanese restaurant in the older part of Ballard. It's quite small inside, their menu is about average size, prices are really good for their portion sizes, and tastes are on point. The staff are friendly and food comes out pretty quick, mainly because there aren't that many tables inside, probably around a dozen or so. Call ahead for reservations if you can since they can get quite busy. It is kid friendly which is always nice for families too. Parking is a pain around this part of the neighborhood so be prepared to walk a bit.

Yummy! I don’t get to have sushi very often, so I appreciate fresh, well prepared sushi when I do. Shiku Sushi exceeded my expectations! We stopped in for Happy Hour and had a quick bite. Their HH menu was perfect- Had the salmon skin hand roll, the California roll and the Seattle roll. From the main menu we tried the Sashimi Roll and the Dream roll. Both were exceptional! Highly recommend!
The place is nice. It is a great date place and the bar is filled out well and they got hot sake. It has a vibe of the young modern version. The only thing I have is i hope it stays a little later than that. I think it would be a good place for late night sushi and hot sake day.
This had great and filling sushi. We ordered too much accidentally as we had ordered tempura (which came with so muuuuch) but tempura came in the deluxe veggie roll! We also ordered edamame and miso soup as starters which were perfectly seasoned. I ordered unagi nigiri and a sushi roll with unagi (eel) and it was 10/10.
Warm and cozy environment with plentiful seating both indoors and out. Outdoor seating offers an exciting atmosphere that comes to life during the evening with multiple other bars, restaurants, and shops in the immediate area.
Sushi itself is fairly priced and was extremely delicious. The restaurant doesn’t have the largest selection but they offer the standard premium rolls along with some unique ones I haven’t personally seen at other places.
Service was quick and staff were friendly. Will be returning with friends again when I’m in the area.
The service is always so friendly amd the food is always so fresh you can taste the ocean. Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots in old ballard. 10/10 will definitely recommend
Love this place. The sushi is interesting and delicious. They also have a variety if other street food dishes if someone in your group isn't a fan of raw fish. The seating, especially the booths are comfy and cozy. The drinks are worth the price and the service is always excellent.
Update: I've been eating at Shiku occasionally for about 6 years now. I still love them. The staff is always on point, as is the food. Their current outdoor seating situation makes for a cozy and romantic meal. Don't change Shiku. You're one of my favorites.
The best Salmon skin roll, and Bruce Lee! My top, favorite sushi place in Seattle, thr service and the knowledge the staff has is top notch..Thank you for sushi tacos,Quinn you're the best!
YUMM YUMM YUMMMMM. The Crunch Roll, for starters was DEVINE; Don't change a thing. Shrimp was cooked to the limits of perfection (and a little bit beyond honestly, so tasty). now the Drinks, The serpents tongue, the name had me thinking it was going to have a vodka kick but was pleasantly surprised to find it was fruity in taste and could easily be shipped on in the summer and by a pool, aces in my eyes. The Triple Ginger Mule, where to start? As an avid Moscow mule drinker, this one goes beyond what I've usually been accustomed to and I ADORE it. Service was friendly and quick, even with other eateries and bars around, my attention stayed on this place. Highly recommended for anyone.
I am very impressed with this restaurant! The service was stellar! I would recommend getting a reservation or at least getting there early because we had to wait for around 40 minutes for a table to open up so we went to another bar nearby and got some drinks to wait. The sushi portion in my opinion was pretty big and of course look delicious. The softshell crab was the best softshell crab I’ve ever had before, big and super fresh! Everything else was pretty good, I’d definitely come back!
I have literally NEVER had anything bad here, and my partner and I have been eating at Shiku for 2 years now! I uploaded some photos of my meal on facebook and one of my friends who has lived in Tokyo for years told me that the sushi here looks better than any of the sushi she's had in Japan. My partner used to be firm that he "doesn't even like sushi" but now he actually requests to come here! The udon is to die for too, and happy hour makes everything ridiculously affordable. If you're in ballard, it's a crime if you don't stop by!
Brought our pup and ate outside. The Sasquatch roll is amazing!
