Charming diner with classic breakfast staples, warm and friendly service, and a sunny ambiance. Everything tasted wonderful, and it was clear that this spot is a beloved neighborhood establishment. This is a great place to visit if you’re looking for fair prices, hearty fare, and generous portions. I would definitely return.
Been coming here for years since it's close by. Consistently good all around. Went Sunday around 9 and was able to get a table without waiting. Afterwards we did a walk to Gasworks Park since it's a block away.
I go here with my family every week! Great options, great food, and great service! All the staff are very nice and welcoming! Would DEFINITELY recommend!
Doesn't look or sound like a restaurant from the outside but this is such a gem.
Portions are massive and absolutely delicious - plates are essentially 2 servings for $17-20, or more than enough if you're starving. Either way, plan on taking leftovers! This is one of my favorite places to eat after a long run.
Taco omelette was incredible - taco meat was a little on the greasy side but that's what makes it tasty. Also have tried the classic Benedict and the chicken fried steak which had fantastic gravy. Each time I've been impressed. Definitely a repeat customer!
Great service, and the wait after ordering is usually only around 10-15 mins for 2 people. Really quick and attentive even when busy. Also appreciate that staff wear masks, leave a few windows open for circulation, and they have signs encouraging folks to wear masks if leaving your table. It's a small thing but reassuring during this new COVID wave.
A lack of pretense in the city makes this place uniquely homey and welcoming. My fries weren’t very hot but the cinnamon roll I got for desert was piping hot and delicious.
I like coming here. It's great to still have a breakfast spot that isn't frou, frou. It's a great way to start a day even if it is 1 in the afternoon. Everyone is friendly and food is awesome. Their chicken fried steak is phenomenal. Really good restaurant.
Such a happy place! Love the taco omelets, carnitas, biscuits and gravy, and the staff is the best.
My family of 7 adults all went here after going to a climbing gym a few blocks away. We were vacationing in Seattle. The night before, we went to Canlis, one of the best restaurants in Seattle and we also went to 6 7 restaurant at the Edgewater.
I kid you not, the brunch we had at the Varsity in was hands down the best food we had while in Seattle. They had a carnitas special that was insanely good, better than mine!
Places like this make a neighborhood feel like a neighborhood.
Last but not least, our server was the kindest woman. She was just amazing. She made us feel so welcome, like family.
As a family, we come to Seattle often. Not only will we be back to the Varsity Inn, we will go out of our way to recommend it to anyone who will listen. Thanks for a great experience and food!!!
Great diner for breakfast after a late night. It can get crowded & loud, but try to hang on, because you need all those warm & greasy carbs!
Are used to come here all the time for breakfast when I lived closer so we decided to give it a try again and the food was delicious. The server did not seem happy to be there but the food was delicious. I had the
