I have been going to Matt's for nearly 20 years, I drive more than 30 miles into Seattle just to enjoy a dog, burger or chili chips. I am greeted by name and always feel I am going to have a great meal. I recommend Matt's to anyone that wants a true Chicago dog, Chili dog or Chili burger. My wife goes for the dog with grilled onions and cream cheese (very tasty). Try it ... I think you will like it!
The Bacon Cheese Burger was off the Chain! Especially with the Milk shake and Chili fries. I definitely recommend this place if your in the area with an empty stomach!!
The food was great, (the bratwurst was the best I've had outside of Germany), but the personal attention from Matt was awesome! Quality food with a personal touch. Matt's Famous is fantastic!
Loved it! My husband is a huge hotdog fan and really liked the Chicago style and the Slaw dogs. I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious. Would definitely go again! Great, filling food for cheap? Yes please!
Love this place just wish there was one in auburn. Hot pastrami and a few chili cheese dogs please.
The quality of the dog itself floored me! Getting a Chicago dog in Seattle sealed the deal!
First went to Matts at this little stand in Country Village in Bothell way back when. Came from CA 25 years ago and Matt' s is the best chilli dog next to pinks and cupids. Wish you had more locations again. Best of luck and thanks for doing what you do.
The Dick's Drive in of Hot Dog's, A best of Seattle, stop in when showing guests all the Seattle sights.
Great place! Awesome owner! Very nice. Been going there every Friday with friends during the school week to have a nice hot double chili cheeseburger
The best dog around. Love me some Matt's Famous Chili Dogs.
I love it! So cute and friendly! Please build one in Sequim, Wa.
It was my first time having a Seattle Dog. It has grilled onions and cream cheese. The Dog was good. However, I am not fond of the cream cheese situation. I would go back and try another kind of dog. Glad I can say I had the experience!
This place is a must try while in Seattle !! Def get the Seattle dog and the Fire dog ! Get the fry’s with the fry sauce. Quick service and friendly owner . Great prices too
Ordered the chilli dog, fries, and vanilla shake to go. Excellent all around.
The dog got a bit squished but that's to be expected as the order was to go.
They also serve burgers.
Opened in 1992 (wow). The hotdogs are awesome and fries are soooo good. I will try polish sausage next time.
I used to frequent the Matt's hot dogs location that was in Bellevue many many years ago. I also frequented the location that was in Ballard. Both closed, and I thought they were gone forever. You can imagine how pleased I was to come across this (perhaps original?) location right in the heart of Seattle's industrial area. I personally like to get the veggie sausage Chicago style dog with cheese and fries on the side (don't forget to include a side of jalapenos!). If you're not familiar a Chicago style dog has relish, onions, tomato slices, mustard, a pickle slice, celery salt, and a hot pepper. Holy cow, simple eats are always hot and fresh never get old. So freaking good! Next time I'm going to try the sauerkraut dog. Drinks come in one size with vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry shake options.
I've been going for lunch most days over the past few weeks and it just doesn't get old. I think it's actually this business's name sake who takes orders. He gave me a frequent buyer card, and I'm almost through my second card already. Matt's is located in a good working class area with diverse clientele that make this business a real gem.
My office in Georgetown orders from Matt’s more than we may want to admit. It’s definitely a favorite. I like that there is something for everyone. I can get my slaw dog with no bun and still feel like I had enough to eat and that it was good. Some of us can get the veggie dog with their dog of choice. My other favorite is the Chicago dog. Everything is always tasty. It is always quick (we pick up), and if you’re feeling something extra their fries or a burger are also fan faves. Nice people, good product, local shop. All around a winner that you should try if you’re in the area.
No atmosphere, but I doubt any customer cares. First visit.
I have Chicago roots. The Chicago dog was spot on even though the bun had no poppy seeds. The double cheeseburger was good enough, but I prefer a smashburger. Excellent crispy fries. Definitely will return!
If you want an affordable lunch in Georgetown this is the place to go! Perfect for a burger for sure. They have crispy french fries that are wonderful! Did I mention the employees are so nice?! This is a place to grab your meal and go or sit outside. I've only ate the hamburger and fries here but they are known for their hot dogs and sausages. People rave about them but I'm not much of a dog eater. I've also used them for catering lunches for my work. When you have 100 grown hard working men Matt's will come through for you! Great business in Seattle!
Awesome place! Service was extraordinarily kind and fast. The atmosphere is very cool, many Seattle spots are new and don’t have that nadtalgoc vibe but this place has it. For $11 I got a dog, fries and a soda. The parking lot was full of tradesman as well which is always a good sign. We always go for good tasting, fast service at a good price and this place checks all the boxes. I will be coming back! They also gave me a punch card as well!
Pretty good fast-food style burger and dogs at very reasonable prices. I got a double cheeseburger and spicy polish. The patties on the burger are small but tasty. The lettuce, onions, and tomatoes were fresh. The polish was a little underwhelming, but again everything was fresh. Matt is super friendly and the service is very quick. Theres a tiny standing countertop and, more realistically, picnic tables outside.
Seattle is def lacking when it comes to their hot dog scene. When it comes to the basic hour dog, this is the best I've had in Seattle. The casing and flavor/texture is on point. Sadly the Polish doesn't have the same casing that I can tell, so it's missing that great snap. But still good flavor. Matt and his team are always friendly and service is extremely fast.
Composts conscious. Seattle dog has lots of cheese and Chicago dog is the best. Hot dog is smaller than typical size but it was pretty good. Would come back. There are some benches for stand up eating and 2 outside benches that are broken and not the most comfortable. Best to take to go and eat at a park or somewhere else. Price is fair.

I want to preface by saying I hate hot dogs. Husband drags me to all the hot dog stands and I naively order thinking “this time it will be different.” It never is (save for a chicago dog in Chicago). Until now.
Low expectations. We got a chili dog, Seattle dog, and New York dog. Honestly I liked them all, which is saying a lot. Tried a bite of each, would have been happy to finish any of them. None had that overwhelming “hot dog” flavor, but it worked well with the ingredients. The dog to bun ratio was good. Ingredients cooked nicely. Almost no wait time, and Matt the owner was super friendly.
The inside is small—no seating but a counter to stand and eat at. There are outdoor picnic tables, but it was snowy out so we are inside. There’s a heat lamp, which was nice. The whole place was clean and cozy.
Per my husband, the hotdog (just the weenie) itself was one of the best he’s ever had, and the overall dogs with ingredients were his favorites we’ve had so far.
Husband liked the New York dog best, son liked the chili dog, I liked the Seattle dog.
I would genuinely go back. That’s saying a lot.
I had a Seattle Dog for the first time. It's a hot dog with grilled onions and cream cheese. I wanted the experience. However, I am not fond of the cream cheese situation. Overall, the dog was good. I'd try another dog next time!
Shout out to all the industrial / warehouse workers in the Georgetown area. Just stopped in and was extremely delighted to find more than fair prices and good freaking food ..... Matt is a holdout from a bygone era and his business is a no frills / subtle humor hole in the wall . I say that with all due respect.
First stop out of Sea-Tac is always Matt’s. Always delicious - chilli fries and Chicago dogs, remain my favorite. Highly recommend the stop at this local establishment!
Went during lunchtime so it was pretty busy. Not a whole lot of parking around, BUT, they are fast! Ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was fresh, made to order, amazing. Service was great and the staff was very friendly. There are tables outside for eating. Will definitely make another trip here to try the famous “dogs”!
I've been driving by this place for years and never bothered to stop by. That was a mistake! They may not be the biggest or the best hotdogs around but are straight up delicious, and honest. No they aren't your Seattle dogs you can have on a game day in pioneer square, but they aren't $12 either. These are great as a quick snack, one is enough, or two make a meal. Fries are great too. I've only had the Seattle dog and the chili dog so far on my two visits. I'll be trying all of them!

It's a shack on the side of the road with no indoor dining. It's also the only really authentic Chicago Dog place on the west coast. I had the Chicago dog and the New York dog, and both were perfect renditions of the originals. They also have burgers and polish and maybe I'll try those at a later date and report in.
