Went for Seattle restaurant week and all 3 courses were super tasty! Steak cook and quality was amazinggg. A smidge smoky but that’s what you get with a steakhouse sometimes.

Great inventive local spot for amazing food and drink - try everything - happy hour specials. Don't miss the various steak options - all good and as deliciously rare as you prefer. Oysters w/ truffle jelly are sugoi & house wine options were well paired with the excellent food. Oishii !

The food is amazing! Did i say that the food is amazing and the prices are reasonable! The service is nice and friendly, unfortunately after 3 appetizers, they forgot to place our main course order with the kitchen, and after a long time, came up to the table to ask if we wanted anything else, to which our response was "yes, the dinner we ordered." They scrambled, acted like it just takes time because they were busy, and then the main course showed up, minus the side. No worries, mistakes are normal, they did make an effort to fix things, and we were grateful. I would go back with no concerns on my end. I would tally the error to having two servers who maybe didn't communicate well, they seemed young. Anyway, all in all, a great place, absolutely worth a visit, and I'll go back

Came here for dinner and it happened to be happy hour so we got oysters (1.75/ea during HH) and they were to die for. They were topped with yuzu jelly and truffle oil, an unexpected but amazing combo. The main courses were also good, as was the wagyu sashimi which is a great deal during happy hour. Will definitely come back!!

Absolutely impressed by this Japanese steakhouse. The quality of the meat is unmatched and the menu has a dish with wagyu 4 ways that helps with understanding the flavor and taste of the meat in different cuts. Not only was their wagyu great, but they’re creative in their seafood dishes as well. Uni pasta was so unique—rich, creamy, and has that umami flavor! Highly recommend this place for a special occasion, it’s better than most high-end steakhouses!

Craving some steak while strolling through Wallingford? Don't worry, I got you. Let me take you on a flavor journey to Kokkaku, the Japanese steakhouse over in the Wallingford area of good o'le Seattle. Get ready, because this is a tale of steak done right, with a side of veggies that might have taken a little nap. Okay, let's dive into the star of the show: the steak. Friends, they've got this steak game down to a science. The sizzle, the seasoning, the succulence—it all comes together for a mouthwatering experience. The kind of experience that makes you give a satisfied nod between bites. Now, the veggies. Oh, bless their hearts, they showed up, but they seemed a bit shy in the flavor department. Dry and bland? Yeah, that about sums it up. It's like they got lost on their way to the seasoning party. But hey, let's cut them some slack; not everyone can be the life of the culinary party. Our server was a real gem, the kind who knows their stuff but doesn't make you feel like you're at a fancy food seminar. They had that perfect mix of professionalism and friendliness, which made the whole dining experience feel, well, just right. So, here's the deal: Kokkaku knows their way around a steak, and that's no small feat. The flavor explosion from those steak bites lingered on my taste buds like a good memory. The veggies might need a pep talk, but overall, it's a satisfying dining destination. When you're up for a steak adventure and some veggies along for the ride, Kokkaku is a solid choice. Just remember, it's all about balance in life, and sometimes that means enjoying a juicy steak with a side of "working on their flavor game" veggies. Keep on grilling, Kokkaku!

We tried out most of the items on restaurant week menu with a big group. Overall highly recommend the salmon carpaccio appetizer and squid ink spaghetti! The ice cream of the day was really good too. Other items are tasty but don’t particularly stand out. The rice salad is served with cold rice which I’m not a fan. Wagyu linguine is decent. The three steaks are good too but don’t I’m not particularly amazed by them. The vanilla pudding is a little too sweet to taste

One phrase, and not too often used for creative Japanese fusion food - value for money! Recommended by a regular, this place had plenty of inventive dishes with Japanese themes and delightful presentations. After trying 8 odd dishes between two of us, we averaged $60 per person and left a happy camper. Back soon!

This place is indeed the best steak house in Seattle. The food quality and customer service and the waitress comes and checks on my table all the time to make sure I don't need anything. I loved the fact that I never had to raise my hand or even look at the waitress to ask for service. I also loved the tasty food they have. I believe this place is a fantastic place for fine dining to take your loved ones and family. Make sure you try their Wagyu beef as the beef literally melts in your mouth, also the way they delivered the starters, then the main dish and the absolute great timing before the main course then appetizers were absolutely great. Its a must try and I am definitely coming back to this location 🙂

Overall I had a great dinner here! The food was very good. Caesar salad was very good for being a Caesar salad- they put their own twist on it and tasted great. Uni spaghetti was delicious as was the American NY steak. We opted to get a side of mashed potatoes since I read so many reviews about them, and it was definitely worth the extra $5! Creamy deliciousness. I’m only knocking off a star because they were a bit slow on service even though the restaurant was half empty. They were were very friendly staff though. It seemed like more of an issue in the back of the house and how fast they were cooking vs the front of the house. Definitely worth coming back at some point.
