I must say that if you have the means because it cost a little bit of money try this restaurant at least once. If you are in the mood for Southern style cuisine you won’t be disappointed. The oxtails will make you write a letter of Congress. That spells phenomenal.

Simply Soulful felt like getting a hug from Harlem! Upon entering the establishment, I could smell the food right away! Simply Soulful’s full menu is available all day. You have to order at the front before sitting down which was kind of annoying especially when there are other people waiting too. Merchant charge when paying with card! To avoid this, bring cash!
I ordered the “simply breakfast” which is priced at $15. This included eggs in your style of choice, protein of your choice, side of your choice & a biscuit! I got scrambled eggs, chicken sausage & homefries. The eggs had no flavor at all, I had to add salt & pepper. The sausage was delicious & full of flavor however I wish it was cooked/ grilled longer to give it a nice crispy crust. The homefries were good.
Next meal was the catfish & wings combo for $21. This meal came with 2 sides of your choice & cornbread! The sides I got was collard greens & mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was delicious but kind of dry. The collard greens were bitter and needed some seasoning. The waiter/ host said it was cooked with turkey and I didn’t get any of that flavor at all. THE CHICKEN & CATFISH WAS THE STAR OF THE SHOW! A 10/10! THIS RESTAURANT COULD SELL THOSE 2 THINGS ALONE & I’D WAIT IN LINE FOR HOURS JUST TO BUY THEM! BOTH WERE FULL OF FLAVOR! PERFECTLY SEASONED! FRIED TO PERFECTION! JUICY & CRISPY! I’M NOT SURE WHAT THE HECK THEY PUT IN THEM BUT I KNOW FOR SURE, I WILL BE BACK!

Waiter/Host was very nice, however, he never followed up to see if I needed anything while dining in. I found myself getting up constantly to speak with him. He did however accommodate me very well at each interaction.
The chicken and waffles were awesome. Chicken is perfectly crispy and served HOT! 😋 biscuits made by Mama were fat and fluffy and the gravy had flecks of flavor throughout. There was a band playing jazz and other oldies that had people tapping their toes while they dined. A lovely Seattle Sunday late morning brunch. Thank you!
Received food pretty quickly and it was delicious. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Most definitely will go back next time I'm in Seattle⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Simply Soulful has tasty food and friendly staff. They have some of the best barbecue I’ve eaten in Seattle and good barbecue is really difficult to find around here. They also have sweet tea, which is a plus. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu. The pecan pie was also great. My partner loved the fried catfish sandwich. I tried a bite and liked it as well.
Great seafood Gumbo and green beans...wife had redheads and rice with catfish on the side I had some to taste yeah I loved it...will be back.
I'm here now listening to King Dre's Trio band. They are outstanding. Jazz for the young and older ones. The food is tasty. Quality takes time. I been looking everywhere for some tasty banana pudding and peach cobbler and I finally found it here. Yes.
The food was amazing! Chicken and waffles were great! Pork chop and catfish was great! The staff was very friendly and attentive. This place is a must when in Seattle
Nice, low-key spot with patio. The restaurant is attached to Amazon Fresh (where the keypad entry restrooms are located). Good food, great music and outlets for remote workers. Thanks for making our lunch stop worth it during our sightseeing adventure.
My 12 year old wanted the best chicken tenders in Seattle for his birthday. This place did not disappoint. Every single dish is amazing. The guys working were so patient with a bunch of kids and they had a blast. Can’t wait to go back!
Everything was great! We’re from the south and missed us some good food! My husband got the catfish with a side of greens and yams. Everything was great and great service.
My husband and i live in Lake Stevens and came to visit our son at UW. We stopped here and ordered 2 combo plates
1.with chicken, catfish, greens, mac n cheese and corn bread
2.chicken, potk chop, mac n cheese, red beans n rice, corn bread, seafood gumbo, banana pudding and pumpkin carrot cake.
They were busy and all tables were full. We ordered to go and were told 20-25 minutes. We were shocked how good every thing was! Seriously some of the best food we've had in a long time! I have NEVER been a fan of catfish because every time i have had it in my lifetime it tasted like dirt. I tried my husband's and it was SO GOOD!!! The gumbo was the bomb! EVERYTHING was seasoned perfectly, good portions and packaged well. The desserts were amazing too! We can't wait to come back!!!
This place blew me away. I should have waited to take a bite after I took a pic but I had no idea it would be so good that I would want everybody to know. The biscuit taste and texture is perfect. I got the biscuit breakfast sandwich - now the best I’ve had of this southern style in town. Plenty of bacon, perfectly cooked egg, cheese but not too much. SO GOOD. And a small pecan pie perfect for two. I’m from the south and I have to say when it tastes homecooked like this food does, it doesn’t feel too heavy or rich. This is such a great neighborhood spot with indoor seating and a little patio. They have art curated by a local arts curator. We’re looking forward to going back.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The cook was back there doing his thaaaang! Food was delicious and fresh. I highly recommend checking this place out very good soul food!
It's a good thing I don't live nearby. Otherwise I'd eat here everyday! Grits are fluffy n creamy, I could eat their corn muffins until I'm sick! I happily and satisfyingly ate my fried porchops with my hands. Soul, funk, and funky disco music has you chair dancing. LOVE IT!
Came to Seattle for vacation for weekend from So Cal after 2 days of sea food wanted something more like home and filling. Looked up a few soul food spots decided on Simply Soulful, and was that the best choice. Food was amazing, cooked right flavorful & the service /atmosphere was A+ Definitely a recommend...
