Reviews Mean Sandwich

Have been going here for years now and have tried almost the whole menu. Everything I've had has truly been top tier, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to write a review! Always greeted right away when walking in as if they were lonely without me. The potatoes are crispy crunchy bites of heaven, and you really get your money's worth here no matter what you order. Today I wanted to try something a little different so I ordered their steak tartare sandwich (which is amazing on its own) with an added cheeseburger patty. Mind. Blown. This is what all other sandwiches dream they could be when they grow up. I was going to take a photo to share, but I was unable to control myself and inhaled the sandwich instead. (Edit: updated with photo after ordering again) Thank you Mean Sandwich for your continued food and service excellence!

Holy moly, what the hell happened here. It's a small burger joint, very unspectacular from the outside, but like the burger there itself, when I had my first bite, I thought I was in heaven. I had the DAM burger, absolutely the best burger I had in my short lifetime. If the guy says you should add the bacon, go for it. It's a bit higher prices, but still better than burgers I had which cost double and more. If you are in the area, just try it and thank me (and all the other reviewers) later 😉 The wedgies are also great here, very crispy and spicy 👍

One of the best burgers and sandwiches I’ve had. Their Mean burger used actual beef steak not minced beef patty. The special pulled pork banh-mi special was also really good. There is a huge patio in the back with plenty of seating and a ping pong table to play with.

Outstanding burger; the bacon was a welcome recommendation and a great addition! Really flavorful smash patties, great house pickles, and a soft bun. Perfect bun to meat ratio. The skins and ins were delicious, a great midpoint between a fry and breakfast potatoes. Really friendly staff from the point of sale through the staff that delivers the food to the table and the staff that walked through the patio area checking in with guests. Highly recommend and look forward to trying the other sandwiches!

Great sandwich joint with ample seating and a nice patio space too. The bread pudding was delicious and the potatos are extremely well roasted. Ordered the spicy remoulade as dipping, wonderful. But the star of the show is their namesake sandwich. Hands down the best corned beef sandwich I've ever had. The beef is one thick slice, extremely tender and juicy and perfectly crisped. The veggies inside are so well paired. Highly recommend!

Had The Mean and the Oyster Po’boy. Both were fantastic! The In and Outs (fries) were delicious with the lemon pepa sauce. Very friendly staff.

After the Nordic Museum, we didn't want same old sandwiches. Luckily Mean Sandwich was reached after a nice walk through Ballard. The namesake Mean Sandwich with a slab of Corned Beef and the Fried Oyster Po Boy were unique and really tasty. Extra Star for 3-D Photos :-) 😀

I've heard a lot about this place and finally walked in! The owner was very friendly - welcomed us in, explained the menu and how to choose, and even stopped by to ask how our meal was when we got our food and started eating, which is unusual for fast casual places! I also loved the fun 3d viewers to browse the menu by picture. Very innovative, though I used the regular menu anyway so I knew the ingredients. Exceptional service all around. I had the 1/4 lb smash burger which was pretty B tier. Patty was too dry even though I added condiments, and the sandwich was overpowered by the strong vinegary pickles. (Granted, strong tasting pickles aren't my favorite, but I will eat them in a sandwich like Potbelly's!) Sandwich was also a bit undersalted for my taste. I don't think I'd get that sandwich again, but would try the corned beef next time, or a different sandwich altogether since the flavor profile wasn't my favorite. I really loved the fried potato skins though. Damn, they're good.

Would recommend. The food is delicious. Their potatoe skins are incredible. It's a shop run by two brothers (to my knowledge). Very friendly and good atmosphere. One of the owners saw my backpack was full of patches, and stopped on my way out to gift a patch with the shops logo. Great gesture and much appreciated. Always kind and good service.

Went with my brothers while in town and couldn't be more impressed. The owner was so gracious, inviting, positive and helpful. The sandwhiches were outstanding, the dipping sauces and potatoes were unreal and their small but mighty tap selection was excellent. Huge fan, will be back again asap
