We stopped into Morfire after arriving in Seattle on a cold day craving some hotpot. Morfire serves both family style and individual sized hotpot, along with some other appetizers and Thai inspired dishes.
We ordered the mango milk tea, Thai tea, some of their Thai dishes, and the hotpot with beef, Tom yum, and herbal soup broths. For meat we ordered the pork belly, painted hill beef, and lamb slices. We also ordered chrysanthemum (tong ho), quail eggs, enoki mushrooms, bok choy, edamame, chilled tofu (hiyayakko), and the quail eggs wontons.
The quail egg wontons were tasty. The chilled tofu was refreshing and light in flavor. The edamame were good and are hard to mess up.
I liked the herbal broth the most. It starts off with a lighter flavor that deepens the more ingredients you add. The beef broth was very sweet and not my favorite, but was a good change from the herbal broth every now and then. The Tom yum was tasty, spiced, and sour but I quickly got tired of the flavor after just a spoonful.
I felt the meat quality was very good and the serving sizes per plate were decent. We ordered 6 plates of meat to share between 3 people, including the other vegetables. The slices had decent marbling and tasted very fresh. My favorite was unexpectedly the pork belly.
The drinks were just okay. The Thai tea tasted strongly of coconut milk/creamer and didn’t have much tea flavor, but was still decent. I was told the mango milk tea tasted like a mango lassi in tea form, and did not try it myself.
The Thai dishes were also decent.
I was a little hesitant visiting Morfire for hotpot at first but was pleasantly surprised with my experience. The hotpot itself was decent and hot the spot on a cold fall night. The portion sizes and pricing were not bad all things considered, but definitely leans toward the pricier side in my opinion.
Had an incredible experience here. Somehow, my brother and I have never had hot pot before. This is Thai style hot pot. The broths were delicious and okay to drink straight which I understand is different than other styles of hot pot. Wish they had more variety of vegetables to choose from. I can’t wait to come back. Service was excellent, prices were fair.
What a gem! We had the split pot with beef broth and Tom Ka, with several types of veggies, meat and fish. Everything was delicious, and hot pot is such a fun experience! Plus very friendly service and a cozy small restaurant atmosphere. The cocktails were also fantastic, I ordered the Maroon Maroon which was delicious!
Thai Hotpot is delicious. Everything we tried was yummy and the staff was helpful and friendly. My wife loved the Zap noodles, the MF fried chicken reminded me of Hat Yai, the drinks were great and the hot pot hit the spot.
I recommend the egg tofu, simple, but divine. Also, definitely go for two different broths, so you can mix and match. Their mixed veggie plate is a great start, but don't forget to add your favorites to it.
My wife and I decided to do something new for dinner on our vacation to Seattle and decided hot pot fit the bill. We expected a fun dinner but what we got was so much more! A creative cocktail selection and inventive and tasty starters would've made our visit good, but morFire went so far above and beyond with the hot pot experience. The beef broth is an umami bomb in the best way and only gets richer as it bubbles on the tabletop wok. The vegetables are crisp (cabbage and bok choy were the standout favorites) and we had a great laugh over chasing the glass noodles around the simmering pot with our chopsticks. This was all fantastic but the service was the best of all! So friendly and attentive and made the experience absolutely the most memorable meal out in months.
First things first: none of us actually got the a la carte hot pot.
I got the dry hot pot (Suki hang) and it was really delicious. It came out fast, and tasted great, and was a very decent amount of food. It was a little too greasy, but I still happily ate all of it.
My dining partners got the single-serving hot pots, and they said they were good too. One of them eats Halal and needed to replace the chicken with fish, and the kitchen was very accommodating.
Prices for the dishes seem alright, but a little expensive for the "big" hot pot.
Great service. Would come back!
Really nice staff & great environment for dinner with a small group of friends. Closes at 9pm but we were welcomed in with open arms at 8:20 - when I have been denied time over time on Broadway/15th in similar situations. The mango milk tea, which one waitress said she drank everyday, was a nice sweet treat. The food was fresh, delicious and filling, no one aspect was entirely outstanding, but the great environment and service made it a 5 star experience!
Ordered the tom yum and beef broth for hotpot. beef broth was a bit sweeter than im used to and tom yum was rlly good if you like spicy and tangy. the meat we ordered was fresh and nicely plated. the mango milk tea tasted more similar to a mango lassi but still pretty good. thai tea was more on the creamy side. overall yummy food and would go again. great vibes all around :)
This restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious hotpot options with high-quality ingredients. It is a great choice for those with dietary restrictions, such as celiac or vegan. The location is convenient, being a 10-minute walk from the train station. I highly recommend it.
Love love love this place. I went a couple months ago during a visit to Seattle, and I knew I had to go back during my most recent visit. The food is delicious and fun to eat, and it is also super affordable. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and are more than willing to answer any questions. Morfire is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in all of Seattle!
