Best mussels dish I've ever had... felt like I was transported to a beach campfire on Hood Canal. Perfect NW flavors with slightly smokey potatoes, layers of fennel, bright preserved lemon + a touch of cream to bring it all together. Kudos to Amy's decadent cuisine + Robert's warm, friendly service + on-point white negroni. Go check these guys out!
Love this place...amazing food, great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and crazy good drinks. Make this your reason for dropping by the Ballard/Phinney hood cause it is totally worth it.
Joli is always excellent. Amy Beaumier and Dennis are excellent and talented at their profession. The food is wonderful. The service is also wonderful.
I can't say enough on how good it is. I highly recommend to everyone.
Just had happy hour here. Excellent food and Sercive, great ambiance! I Highly recommend it.
All the food was seasoned perfectly and so fresh and healthy yet decadent. Desert was excellent. A place for everyone as they can accommodate any dietary need, omnivore, vegetarian or vegan you will all love this beautiful restaurant.
Great service, great happy hour & great food! Our second time and can’t wait to go back!
Excellent food! I will definitely be going to this resturant a lot!
Amazing food, and Paul is a magician behind the bar...cocktails were amazing!
Robert was super nice. The food was really good. Will be back!
Great atmosphere and even better food and drinks!
Delicious food, beautifully presented and great service. Will be back for sure!
The Fooooooooood wasn't good at all...it was amazing!!!!
This chic, Asian/Mexican fusion restaurant is severely underrated and deserves every bit of attention and recognition! New management has completely turned this place around into a 5 star facility, and it is not common that a place can give me 5 star service.
My expectations were exceeded.
Every dish I tried was an adventure and phenomenal, I kid you not. Ingredients I never thought would go together actually worked. My biggest favorites were: 1, corn bisque, which I will surely dream about. Served cold and unlike anything I've ever tasted. The blend of sweet creamy corn bisque, chili oil, a little radish and green onion...it's the ultimate comfort food dish that pulls you in within the first bite and leaves you wanting to order 5 more after.
And 2: the charred broccolini. Wow...do not pass this one up. Even the pickiest of eaters who don't like veggies will fall in love with this dish. The crunchy chili flakes are excellent enough to be paired with just about anything, and really compliments the char on the broccolini without it being overwhelming. A light spiciness with great flavor and adds to the delicious creamed green garlic sauce.
With a new curated menu about every month, you're able to try different things and find new favorites. No two dishes taste alike, they each have their own unique flavors. The servers are knowledgeable with the menu items, very personable and make you feel right at home. They also have an extended amount of 200+ gin's; if that isn't your thing, their other drinks are just as great, including lavender or sage lemonade.
Do NOT sleep on this place! Every dish is a work of art and you can taste the love that was put into it. Thank me later, you'll be glad you went. ;)
Exceptional gin selection.
Exceptional service staff.
Warm atmosphere with a fun menu.
Get the truffle fries.
I'm lucky to have this in my neighborhood.
Great service low key atmosphere and good eats. I stopped by on a Monday night and sat at the bar and was well taken care of. The bartender was equally attentive, laid back and thoughtful. Very creative, tasty cocktails. I enjoyed the gnocchi, the charred broccolini and the sorbet trio dessert. I have included a picture of the house made sorbet trio which was excellent and very tasty.
Loved almost everything. The only thing that I would recommend would be to consider changing how their broccolini is presented. The sauce that came with the broccolini was too heavy and strong. It easily overpowered the natural flavor of the vegetable. The charred broccolini was good but it could be even better if the veggies were charred less and the sauce was lighter and more subtle. I love broccolini and the way that this was prepared was too much heavy sauce and flavor for me. I like it better when the veggies can sing au natural.
Everything else was great and we'll be back again for drinks and dinner again soon.
It was our first visit, choosing items from just the sharing menu, paired with some tasty gin drinks. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious.
Joli pickles its way into your heart. ❤️
I won’t detail the dynamic and fun expertly executed cultural fusion food and beverage experience. Instead I’ll just say, “Go”! Come back and comment if you felt this level of review isn’t 100% justified.
Amazing food! Been coming here for years and their food is sometimes great, sometimes good, and sometimes it blows your mind. They have great chefs right now and their bartender is also great. Wife and I had a great meal. Split many apps - fries, bread, broccolini, elote, and chicken. All great. Black Manhattan was fantastic. The cauliflower dish was mediocre. Atmosphere very good along with service. Love this place.
Not for the picky eaters. But for those of us who feel like living an adventure you better put this place on your list of places to eat. It's a wonderful experience of flavor and out of this world drinks. You won't have gin like this anywhere else. And for the average veggie avoidant (like my boyfriend) you will find yourself gobbling down those Brussel sprouts you fed to your dog when you were five. The chicken sandwich would kick Chick FIL A in their unmentionables as for the small price of 15 bucks you go all the way down to flavor town along with a kings ransom of delicious fries. The sauces are those of which you would have to try to believe how incredible they are. Out of the THOUSANDS of restaurants in the Seattle area.. this is a must TRY.
Really adorable gin bar with a well curated, tasty menu. The food is served tapas style and is a great place to visit with a group of friends. I recently had the beet risotto and a delicious Spanish-style gin and tonic. Highly recommend this place if you are near Ballard or Fremont!
This place is amazing!!!! We stopped here on a recommendation from a friend, who knew we liked gin drinks and we were definitely happy here! There are some cleverly creative gin cocktails- variations of popular cocktails with other liquors (Joli Old Fashioned) and unique twists on traditional gin cocktails (Final Thought = The Last Word). Beyond the cocktails- the food is great, too!!! We ordered the fried green beans (yum!), fried chicken sandwich & burger. All amazing! But dessert blew us away with their panna cotta & Portuguese donuts (see the pic!). We are definitely coming back to check out more drinks & food!!! If you aren't local (walkable), call ahead. But it's worth the drive/Uber ride!!!!
I am consistently impressed with Joli. The quality of the food is outstanding and the menu always has unique, inventive dishes. Highly recommend the short ribs and the elote.
Food was amazing as usual! Possibly the best brocollini I have had ever! Only feedback for management is to PLEASE consider returning the fried chicken sandwich to the dinner menu. Dined in tonight specifically for this dish and was really disappointed to learn it was only available as part of brunch/happy hour menus.
I really wanted to love Joli and came away a fan, but with caveats.
The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. The bartender and server were very pleasant and my drinks were excellent.
It is a little funky in that there is a movie with no sound projected on the wall. We were watching Dr. No a bit here and there in between conversation and conversation about it.
We ordered the beet salad with whipped chevre, pickled fiddleheads, and chimichurri. Each contributed to a balanced salad and both my wife and I really enjoyed it.
I ordered the house-made noodles with pork ragu of sorts. In my first bite, which was heavy with meat, there was a strange burst of intense flavor that knocked me off my bottom. I thought it was a juniper berry and that was later confirmed. It did not please my palate and set me back. Trying again, the juniper blew me away in an unpleasant way and my palette had to recover yet again. It was a major distraction in my enjoyment. I have to say that despite loads of meat, the sauce lacked in complexity. There were depth and unctuousness that I kept looking for and did not find; it tasted of pork, but little else.
I envied my wife's burger in a lettuce wrap which was very tasty. Her fried green beans were also desirable.
We'll likely be back and choose other dishes. I'd like to try the steak frites.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Joli, a culinary gem nestled in Seattle's Stumbletown neighborhood. This restaurant is not just a place to eat; it's an experience that takes you on a journey of flavors and textures, all while making you feel right at home.
Joli prides itself on its vast selection of gin, boasting the largest collection in the country. But it's not just about the gin; their focus on seasonality and New American cuisine is what truly sets them apart.
Our meal started with their fresh Oysters, beautifully complemented by watermelon pearls and a tangy ginionette. The Sea Wolf Sourdough was a delight, served with whipped butter and smoked sea salt that elevated the bread to a whole new level.
The Cauliflower Chilaquiles were a revelation, a perfect blend of salsa verde, cotija, spiced pepitas, furikake, and cilantro. The Charred Broccolini was another standout, served with creamed leeks, lardon, parmesan, chili crunch, and bread crumb. The flavors were bold and harmonious, each bite better than the last.
The Hanger Steak was cooked to perfection, served with blistered shishito peppers, tonnatto, allium butter, and sea salt. It was a symphony of flavors that left me wanting more. The Parisienne Gnocchi, with chicory, pistachio, seasonal vegetables, and herb cream sauce, was the perfect end to the savory part of my meal.
What truly elevated our experience was the warm hospitality we received. We had the pleasure of meeting the chef, who was incredibly welcoming. Our server and bartender, Leon, was a wealth of knowledge on the oysters and gin. He crafted the best gin cocktail I've ever had, a testament to his expertise and passion.
Joli is more than just a restaurant; it's a testament to the power of good food and the magic it can create when paired with the right ingredients and passion. If you're in Seattle and looking for a memorable dining experience, Joli should be at the top of your list.
The staff is super knowledgeable and inviting.
We tried 3 of the cocktails, each were fantastic (even the whiskey drinker enjoyed!)
The roasted parsnips were delicious and there's nothing like em offered anywhere else.
The steak with roasted shishito peppers were great
We finished off the meal with 2 of the Hawaiian/Portuguese Malasada with warm Carmel sauce omg so good
And all of this was the perfect amount of food for 2 of us
What a unique, delicious, entertaining, and intimate dining experience. The paper plates and plastic utensils were a bit bizarre especially given the type of cuisine and the prices, yet I will stand by my five-star for the extra effort on the customer service side, and for playing James Bond movies that evening.
The food is delicious and the cocktails are amazing. Definitely not kid-friendly.
I tried the steelhead trout and was blown away by how delicious it was! Cooked perfectly with flavorful veggies and potatoes. I can't remember what it was called, but the dessert I had was some sort of cinnamon/sugar fried pastry with caramel sauce. It was the perfect way to end the meal. I'll definitely be back for more!
