Outstanding! Great service and food in a laid back atmosphere. Meals were more family style. Everything was delicious! Came here from out of town to meet a local friend who loves this place. If the locals love it, you know it has to be good. They even have a local cat that comes to visit and why not with food and friendly service. Kindness to animals gives them a 6th star in my book. Definitely worth eating here.
We visited with a local friend while visiting from Calgary, Alberta so we have an affinity to streak.
The staff was great and knowledgeable. The food was a 10 or of 10 from the salads to the steaks and sides.
If you have not been you owe it to yourself to visit.
Second time dining here and both have been exceptional experiences. Often feels like this should be a more popular spot.
This is one of our favorite places. Their menu is small, but everything is high quality.
A good variety of beer, cocktails and wine, and great food. They have mostly meat dishes, so if you are vegan or vegetarian the options are a bit limited. Our favorite is the foraged mushrooms, very tasty, the beef croquettes are great, too. But when you get there, the selection might be different, it seems they change menu items from time to time.
Always check the blackboard, you can see which steaks and other dishes are available that are not on the menu.
Did I mention they have a Happy Hour, too. Check them out, I should point out parking can get a bit challenging since their parking spots are limited, so you might have to park a block away or so.
Small busy restaurant. Great drinks and food centered around a chalk board with the daily meat options (and some seasonal mushrooms) plus lots of great starters and sides. We went with a group of four and had a great time. Large tables are often split into a couple of groups per table - this never felt uncomfortable.
Management NO LONGER keeps 30% of gratuity.
Service was great, beer and cocktail selection were esoteric and eclectic. The variety of different meat cuts were second-to-none and cooked to near perfection.
Came here again 6 months later and the food was still impeccable, management changed their gratuity policy and the drinks were still good and prices still affordable.
Love this place. Fantastic food. Absolutely one of the best steaks I've ever had. We also shared the Ceasar salad (wonderfully flavorful), the butternut squash soup (perfect), and the mushrooms (beautiful). Highly recommend!
This is a busy, casual neighborhood steak house that offers a wide variety of cuts and sizes, very much sold by the ounce. They have a limited number of sides, but I suspect that is what has allowed them to “nail it” in their seasoning and preparation. Chalk board meat menu is a bit awkward. Parking is tough, but the steak is not😉. In my group the bill came to about $100/ head with one glass of wine and steaks on the smaller side. I didn’t see any choice of adding various sauces, but the meat seasoning and prep was quite good.
The Shambles deserves all the awards! there food is exceptional, as is the team who works there! I’ve tried a lot of Steak Tartare and strongly believe this is the best Steak Tartare in seattle.
Recommend getting there early if you can so you can get your preferred cut of steak (we got there around 7:30 and didn’t get our preferred cuts but the steaks we got were incredible! charcuterie plate was incredible too. i wasn’t a huge fan of our cocktails (though they were certainly unique) but wine / beer selection was amazing! overall incredible experience
Great place to get a well cooked steak and delicious sides such as the mushroom side I got. The steak was perfectly cooked, and tasted great as well. The one compliant I had about the steak is that it is really expensive, and am unsure if it's worth that amount of money. While the steak was tasty, it's not the best I've had and I do not think it's worth the price. The mushrooms are tasty, well seasoned, and unique. I'd recommend this place to try!
Liked it in every aspect. Great selection of steaks and decent vegetarian options. Good beverage menu. Service knowledgeable and friendly. We paid $200 incl. tipp for two alcoholic beverages each, one shared starter, the charcuterie plate, steak plus side.

The Collette cut was awesome. Overall good food, but pricey. The $9 dollar bread was pretty weak, we spent about $100 per person, so why would they charge for a small chunk of baguette? That was the only negative.. Not a bad place otherwise.
The Shambles is one of those few places I really love rather than just like. The first time you have steak here it feels like you've been let in on a delightful secret.
The steaks are incredible. The other dishes are fantastic. The quality is pretty much fine dining. The atmosphere and service are relaxed and effortless.
I have no remarks, every time I visit I'm more impressed than the time before.
Probably one of the best steaks I've ever had. Got the Wagyu Bavette, was darn near fork tender, and the foraged mushrooms were just fabulous with the cured egg yolk. The signature cocktail "The Shambles Nut" is a must have to go with such a fine meal. I will return.
Rustic atmosphere, as the name implies.
The cauliflower was surprisingly filling and tasty.
The service was really excellent, from answering questions about the food, to ensuring we had a good experience. Really made our date night totally wonderful.
Thanks to Robb the bartender / server / host fer a most excellent evening. My wife and I had a most wonderful experience!! My simple mechanic mind can't come up with the words fer how good the tastes are, your just have to take my word for it and give, The Shambles a try, you won't likely be disappointed.
Cheers
We've now met Jay, who appears to be the one who mentored Robb in his early days. The 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed sharing the tomahawk, 3 sides, plus bread, and dessert. The Robb cocktails were delightful and the servers have been continually engaging, stirring up memories of our early visits.
Thanks for a wonderful evening, looking forward to many more.
Went with some friends to this new place last night. They have a huge and amazing beer selection and also a nice cocktail list from what I saw. But the food was the best, we had the cured meat and cheese plate which had a ton of in house cured meats, the duck was incredible. I also had the bavette steak with a chimichurri sauce, the steak was incredible and the best thing I have had in awhile super tender and flavorful. I will definitely be back for a beer and a bite.
This place has been on my list for a while, and I was not disappointed. Everything was good quality and had extremely unique flavor combinations. I could really taste the effort and care that went into making each dish. I even watched them clip fresh herbs to go on my salad from the garden out back. Good food paired with the great service, I will be back again. The heirloom tomato salad and smoked Italian beef sandwich were amazing.
This is the place for carnivores. Superbly seasoned steaks. Mushrooms that border on perfection. This place is not really about the veggies, but what they do have is amazing.
