Christmas Eve was on a Saturday this year so going out for dim sum sounded like a nice way to get the weekend going.  We checked out Dim Sum House in Beacon Hill.  We drive by it every week and we've always heard good things about it from our friends.  Like most dim sum places, it didn't look like much from the outside and the inside wasn't too fancy either.  But the flavors were spot on and all the food seemed fresh and made to order.  Everything was hot and tasty, perfect for a chilly day.  They were pretty busy and there seemed to be a lot of locals dining.  Many people were picking up food to go, too.  We tried a lot of dim sum dishes and everything came to only $24.  You can't argue with that.  We'll have to return soon and try more!

Dim Sum House: First Impressions. So I heard about this place, even drove by it dozens of times, but I never stopped in, until earlier this week. I have only been there once, and I have only had dim sum items, but I discovered a very interesting truth.

The steamed items I had were at least as good as I expected, and the leaf-wrapped sticky rice was particularly good. Now the fried items were a whole other story. This is where this place really shines.

Those who would say that you can't have dim sum without the cart, need to learn a little bit about physics! Oil can be heated to a higher temperature than water, and still remain liquid. So, fried items come out hotter than boiled, braised, or even steamed ones. That is part of the reason that fried items that are held on a steam table or at room temperature become soggy and soft quickly. Since Dim Sum House fries your food to order, it is hotter and crispier than you get at any establishment that uses the classic cart. Don't get me wrong, I like the carts. They are great for steamed items and ambiance. Nevertheless, you cannot beat the freshly fried fare at Dim Sum House.

Next time I go, i will have to order some of their soup and noodle offerings. Also, they are open at 9am!

A great dim sum when you're on the budget. You really can't find any other dim sum in Seattle this cheap that will taste good. Since there are only two people who run the place, you have to order the plates, but the menu has pictures if you don't know what they're called. The food is cooked to order so it comes to you piping hot. Everything always comes out right and even on days when we pig-out, the bill is always under $20 for two people.

Fantastic food. The food is pretty good and cheap! The beef chow foon and some of the dimsum dishes were fantastic. Got to check this place out. Like the other reviewer said, there is no carts. You have to order the dish. The advantage with this is that the food comes out really hot and fresh! Not cold in the cart!

Joust found my fav dim sum place in Seattle!! Sooo much better than any spot in international district. Everything taste so freshly made and not defrost from the frozen pack ( saw them take out fresh batch of warm buns ) You can especially taste the fresh veggies from bean curd rolls and stuffed pepper. The sauces are amazing. Service is a little slow since most dishes are made fresh. Not a lot of table so it can be extremely packed during weekends. Easy to park out front. I will only come here for dim sum from now on!

We are still searching for good dimsum coming LA. It was good for Seattle. Shrimp toast was good, it is greasy. The skin for the dumplings were thick. Salt and Pepper was good, needed more pepper, squid was tender. The steam custard buns, wish there was more custard. My brother likes sesame balls. They ran out of bake taro and bake custard bun. Overall it was good.

Dim sum house was our happy coincidence. It's probably the best affordable fresh made Guang Dong dim sum in the area! We dined in and tried 9 different dim sum. My personal favorites were the shrimp dumplings, siu mai, bbq pork rice roll, and fresh baked taro buns. The dumpling stuffing was generous. Delivery was higher than expected. There weren't many servers in the morning. However, even when it got a bit busy, we still received good attention. We came back that night and had their soup noodles and fried rice takeout! It was just as expected. Fried rice was delicious and came in a big portion. Came back the next morning for their dim sum! 🤤🤌🏻 delicious

We wanted to introduce our nephew to dim sum, so we brought him here. It was our first time at Dim Sum House, too. It was busy and we purposely went after the lunch rush, but we took that as a good sign. The servers were busy but they were not rude. The food was delicious! This is a wonderful small place, so you give your order to the server and they deliver it directly from the kitchen. Everything that came out looked good and we enjoyed all that we ordered. We especially liked the salt and pepper squid, zongzi, and the soup dumplings. Would definitely go again!

The dim sum here is very good. The place is small and sometimes service can be a little slow but they’re always busy and it’s worth the wait. This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. Prices are reasonable and food is delicious.

First day of the Plate of Nations event, and this is one of the places I had decided to try for lunch. This was a winner right out of the box! The food is Cantonese style served with pots of hot tea. The Plate of Nations Option 1 included fried veggie egg rolls, garlic green beans, chow mein noodles and steamed red bean buns, so I did not try any seafood or meat options on this visit. The food was tasty and service was fast. I was impressed by the diverse lunch crowd. We shared a table with a couple who visit regularly from Federal Way! A large round table was populated by a work gathering. Kudos to this restaurant for not dealing with delivery services. Restaurants have to pay 30% to those apps in order to participate and it raises prices for everyone! At Dim Sum House, you can call in an order and pick it up yourself, or eat in the small eating area at one of two round tables or at several rectangular tables. Parking is available in small lots located in the center area of Beacon Avenue South.

I love this place. Found it from tiktok and I feel like it is such a small hidden gem spot. Way better and higher quality than those in international district. I was impressed with the shrimp rice rolls (very soft, but still have that bite back), custard bun (very heavy with custard filling). It was ~$65 for 3 people, we ordered ~5-6 dimsum plates. I will come back for sure! Definitely recommended.

This is long overdue because of how often we come here. The best dim sum spot in Seattle for many reasons - food is delicious, it's affordable, and there's never a wait (but we usually go when they open) like in the ID. Their chili oil is also so spicy and flavorful. This spot is neighborhood gem that I hope stays forever.

The new owners have done a great job carrying on the wonderful traditions of the previous owners. One of the only places around where I can find Shrimp Toast! Don't sleep on this great little dim sum place on Beacon Hill.

Stopped in for lunch before visiting the Museum of Flight. Easy parking. Staff was friendly and place was clean, but service was slow. All the food was tasty especially the shrimp and chive dumpling. I would come back just for this unique dim sum item.
