I have to help it with the rating on Facebook. One guy gave it one star because he doesn’t understand that the place is busy and if you don’t have reservations you have to wait.
I will gave it 5 star because I made a reservation and the food, drinks and service are wonderful.
We <3 Tamari Bar. Fabulous space with fresh inventive food. Get the icy delicious Lemon Sour cocktail ... SO GOOD!
Amazing food and drinks :) Atsuko is an amazing bartender and host for some late night drinks and fun
I've visited this restaurant a couple of times, and every single time, I've been impressed with the quality and variety of food. The presentation is so gorgeous that you don't want to mess it up, especially with their jewel boxes! The way that their food is presented really helps to showcase the beauty and vibrancy of the fish and seafood.
The service has always been great, and the staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable. The restaurant is very clean and each visit has been such a pleasure! I will definitely be returning whenever I get a chance!
Great izakaya in cap hill! Nice japanese interior that doesn’t overdo it. I really liked the patio area as it was heated and had cute paper laterns.
For food I would recommend the tako wasabi appetizer and the icecream with whisky caramel.
The best bite was very underwhelming. The drinks were superb especially the plum wine highball and the yuzu highball.
Good Japanese place, food selection wasn't bad, could've had maybe bit more meat options, since majority was either pork or seafood. But other than that the quality is good. The venue itself is cozy, seating outside has heating and is spacious enough per table, and not cramped up like other places which is good for long seating sessions. The service was good overall, I did have to ask for a missing part of my order 2 times, but I know theyre busy so wasn't a biggy as eventually I got it (but I am a patient person lol).
So overall, good Japanese restaurant, and I do recommend.
Amazing, they have happy hour after 9pm and it's SO good! Love the highballs (got the plum one) and also the udon. Delicious! Nice staff as well. Would come back!!
This was my first time coming here and I'II definitely be coming back! We came during happy hour and got seated right away at the bar. The bartender was very sweet and the hostess was helpful. We ordered the poutine, gozen set, chirashi bowl, and yuzu margaritas from the happy hour menu. It was absolutely phenomenal. The sushi was the freshest I have ever tasted. The tuna melted in my mouth; it was crazy i've never had such fresh sushi before. I understand the price point. Qualify for sure. The poutine was very interesting. I really liked it. It was savory and filling. Definitely get it if you want to be filled up on not just sashimi as it can get expensive. The margaritas were amazing and I normally hate the taste of alcohol but this was delicious. The chirashi happy hour bowl was what stole the show. It was absolutely phenomenal and so filling! Definitely worth the price. Would 10/10 recommend trying this place out. I'll definitely be coming back this weekend to try their main menu.
Dropping a visit here before I leave Seattle because I was so intrigued by the cook-your-wagyu-on-hot-stone experience. I arrived shortly after 5 and they were already running out of walkin spots. The experience itself didn’t disappoint me but the taste was meh — you still get that rich aftertaste that wagyu’s fat guarantees but not very well seasoned. I also got the cilantro udon which was essentially tasteless to me — I can hardly taste any cilantro at all. I had to ask for extra soy sauce to make it more palatable. But this is very subjective. Also be advised that the noodles are submerged in lots of lots of oil. Not the best dish if you’re trying to eat healthily. But overall I would still say it’s good experience. At least it was fun cooking the meat on my own and enjoying the izayaka vibe that this place offers. The folks working there would greet you in Japanese when you enter and leave the place. I would recommend for a date or hanging out with friends.
I love this place for its creative menu. I’ve been here a couple times now, and I’ve never been disappointed by anything I’ve had here, it’s all very tasty 😋. I sat outside in the covered area once at night when it rained, and it was such a chill mood watching the people go by on the streets. Bonus points for Nausicaa playing at the bar!
Fun food, good sushi, stiff drinks. A favorite spot in Capitol Hill. After discovering it for the first time, I went back with friends the next week.
Their jewelry chirashi bowl is a great value; highly recommend. The staircase is the other entree pictured and quite good too.
Sushi cuts are thick, fresh, and mouthwatering. Soy sauce is excellent and you need so little. Definitely visit.
I can't wait to be back. Parking is tough here. There are paid lots hidden around, if not it is street parking.
Everything we got was delicious. The ramen was full of flavor. The uni on wagyu is good but wouldn't get it again due to price. Calamari is standard, decently crunchy.
There are a couple hooks in the bar seating for handbags. Best to get a reservation and sit at a table. Sitting at the bar meant seeing all the drinks made which is cool. The enivornemnt here is a little loud with a tv playing in the background.
We came to this place for dinner while visiting Seattle. It’s quite busy here when we arrived even though it was still early for dinner. We ordered a roll, bento box and pork belly Bao. All of them were delicious except the beef in bento box tasted too old and the sauce too fishy. Good service and lively vibes, with ample patio seating.
