European Foods has the most authentic menu of Ukrainian cuisine in Seattle. Their food is far above other bigger pelmeni chains. The can’t miss item is the Syrniki, which are made fresh. They were crisp on the outside, extremely soft and fluffy, and not doughy, served with a great apricot jam. Both the pelmeni and borscht were on point and were made traditionally. A hidden gem for well priced, high quality, homemade food.

This was such a cool little place. We just saw it driving by and decided to go in. It’s super snug, a very small little place. Feels like an old school market. Prices were pretty good and they had a neat selection. As imagined, I couldn’t read most of the labels. The check out was a slow process, as they don’t scan barcodes but enter prices from tags individually, so checkout got a bit backed up. Overall, it was a super cool little place and I hope it stays around. Not sure I’ll be back since I know of a bigger one close to me.

Loved the mushroom soup (it was recommended by another person at one of the tables), thought it was better than the borscht. Also had the plemeni (lovely light melt in the mouth dumplings)

I've always loved their store but recently tried their restaurant. The borscht is fantastic, as were the dumplings with farmers cheese. Their olievie salad is delicious as well, and available in a go-to container in their store (refrigerated section). I look forward to trying more dishes sometime soon. Very authentic and reminds me of home. Thank you guys!

Non-pretentious and non-kitschy, European Foods just north on Aurora is a one stop deli and convenient Eastern European market. It's where a person like myself who's never traveled to Eastern Europe can feel like a tourist within Seattle while supporting local. Imported meats, pasta, spices, cooking sauces, ice cream treats and a wide selection of chocolate items line the shelves of this quaint space. Hearing that custom sandwiches ($5.99) are made to order, we ordered a bologna and also a deli ham, made of regular wheat bread, deli meat, sliced white cheese (couldn't tell if it was mozzarella or provolone?) tomato, and one had a very hearty dark lettuce. It was fun taking a dive into their bulk bins for some imported chocolate and I look forward to trying all of them over time and finding some favorites.

I have been meaning to go to European Foods for some time and finally did. They are partially a grocery store and restaurant. I had originally wanted to visit the restaurant portion but the lights were off and no one was there eating. Nevertheless, I wandered around the store to look at what was for sale. They have a nice assortment of desserts, cured meats, cookies, sauces, etc. I was looking for frozen pelmeni and they had a few of the major brands - all good choices. I ended up buying a slice of the honey cake. Whenever I have honey cake, I always find myself disappointed, however, the honey cake from European Foods was pretty good. It wasn't too sweet and the cake had a complex flavor. I look forward to returning and possibly eating in the restaurant.

A good Eastern European grocery. They have a wide selection of products from buckwheat to corn beef to pirogi to cakes and candies. The service is great. The staff is always very helpful. Sometime they have fresh hot pirogi. Also they have borscht, salads and other food to order that it’s like „as made at home“

I love this place, Oxanna is a wonderful chef with a smile on the face every time I see her. I order cabbage rolls, 1-2 times/year, potato salad (boeuf salad). I buy their honey and Romanian zacusca, blueberry syrup and lots of other delicious products. The customer service of the employees is always helpful and excited to assist.

Excellent selection for such a small shop. They have Napolitanke for $4 a box, and halva by the pound. Not the highest quality, but well worth the price. Very affordable here. A lot of things have English labels with the ingredients, but not all.

One of the best borscht soups I ever had. I always get some for home. For the price you simply cannot get anything in stores that comes even close to the homemade style meals they offer.

Placed a pick up order for an early Christmas dinner. We enjoyed homemade stuffed cabbage rolls and Hungarian goulash. These entrees were amazing and so incredibly tasty! This food brought back memories of my grandparents cooking. We will DEFINITELY be back for some food again soon!

They have a really unique selection of groceries and also serve foods! They have various soups and salads, and I told them I wish I could have their pelmeni there instead of buying it home to cook it myself, and they told me they can cook it for me in 15 minutes! Super nice folks and fantastic food and it is very unique. Highly recommend.

In solidarity. I look forward to shopping at your store. 3/7 update: delicious take-out mushroom-veg soup and cabbage rolls for dinner tonight! We will also enjoy the assortment of salami, cheese, sausage, frozen perogi, and rye bread that found their way into my basket. This is a delightful European market and restaurant.

Fantastic find!!! Great selection of beers, wines, prepared foods, packaged foods, snacks, and Eastern European ingredients, snacks, sweets, and some locally produced stuff. And, an attached restaurant serving great dishes at great prices. Primarily all Baltic, Russian, Ukrainian and Polish. We'll be back many times. :) super friendly owner.
