Overall a pretty good place. I have been here twice. The first time I had the chicken fried steak. It was excellent and very largely proportioned (was able to split with my wife). The next trip I had the KC strip. It was in my opinion, quite mediocre, and I wish I had ordered another chicken fried.

My family and I have been here prolly 3-4 times over the past few years and we're always confused because one review says "oh it's closed" or "oh it's that name..." "The Hoof and Horn Supper Club" is what is hanging from the shingle over the entrance. I've also seen it reviewed as "Cy's Supper Club" etc. I'd need to do some research as to which slde of the county line the restaurant is on, because the town itself straddles both Sedgwick and Harvey Counties. But I don't think I put it together until today, seeing the way the restaurant itself is laid out, starting with the gradual accent up the wheelchair accessible ramp in the middle of the restaurant.. Then the south side (left) is the Bar area for over 21, and the north side is the Family Area until 10 pm (after 10 pm, no one under 21 allowed in.). It has always been that way when we have come there, and we have yet to sit in the "grownups section" because we always come with kids or teetotalers. I could launch into a discussion of "antique history of Kansas "Dry State Liquor Laws" and why the "Supper Club" part of the name... But for now I can tell you it's still open, still has nice big portions and reasonably priced and yummy foods. The refried beans in their "Mexican" did have lard in them, and the green beans had ham in them. They did keep the bacon bits off our salad, as requested. Nearby were several tables of family and baseball teams and birthday parties so there is something for everyone (except tonight we got there too late for the fried chicken special and they were out of baked potatos and mashed potatos so I guess that is a good thing? At least they could tell us that before we got too far along in the menu studying process. Food was delivered timely and at perfect temperatures. We'll be back!!
Awesome!. Well worth the drive- best steak I have ever had. I ordered the 16 oz KC Strip. Grilled and seasoned perfectly. Very tender! Prices very reasonable. Got a little confused because the front door says it's the Hoof and Horn Supper Club, although everyone I asked assured me it was Cy's place. Whatever the name- it was the best!
So if you wanna take a drive from ICT or further this place is worth it. Good food good service fair price. Take the drive...
The best steak in the region. If you like chicken liver and gizzards you will love'em at Cy's. They are not like the dried, tough stuff you get at most places. Staff are attentive and nice. Price is comparable to the chain steak joints but food is several stars above.
Really good food. Not the cheapest but not to expensive either. Food cooked right the first time. Will return again and again.
BEST steak I have had. Big portions and wonderful food. Atmosphere is a hole in the wall but nothing in a bad way.

Cy’s Hoof & Horn is known by many names. I’ve heard it referred to as Cy’s Place or just Hoof & Horn. The sign out front reads The Hoof & Horn Supper Club. That’s also the name listed on the menu. We arrived a little after five thirty, which seemed to be the perfect time. More diners arrived shortly after and the place started to get pretty busy. Here’s a picture of Brian with our neighbors Jim and Karen. This is only the second time we’ve been out to dinner with Jim and Karen but we really enjoy their company. We had good conversation and the food was great. I’m really glad they recommended Cy’s Place or Hoof & Horn – whatever you want to call it. The food is so good that we can’t wait to return. We are definitely taking Brian’s parents there on their next trip to Wichita. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend going. It may take 30-45 minutes to get there depending on where you live in Wichita, but it is totally worth the drive. You are reading Because We Absolutely Love Food .
