Old school donut shop in the best way! Avoid mass produced donuts and get the type of donut which helped win WWII and keeps America free. OK, some hyperbole but you get my point. Oh, great coffee and friendly folks!
These are the best donuts!!! I’ve been coming here for years. The donuts with filling in them are packed full and I think this is the only donut shop that still makes the twist stick donut.
Wish there'd been a 6th star........these donuts and the shop embody the real American donut experience! I can't believe it's taken me so long to find this gem! I know that every visitor I get from her on in will be experiencing the yumminess that is the Donut Shack!
The Donut Shack has THE BEST donuts! They are always fresh and tasty; never oily or greasy. They blow the donut chain's stuff out of the water. The honey dipstick, coconut custard and strawberry shortcake are my
usual choices. The staff is great and the store is so clean you could eat off the floor. They used to be open 24-7 but now they have new hours and are closed from late Sunday night until early Wednesday morning. Oh and bring cash (they do have an ATM if you forget).
Donuts to die for! Throw back business if there ever was one. Hand cut, fresh, and delicious. A doughnut connoisseurs delight. I live 32 miles round trip, Worth every step.

Donut Heaven! By FAR the best donuts around!!! My entire family has their favorites - but mine is the chocolate frosted & honey dipstick. The "chain" donut shops & grocery stores get their donuts frozen - yuck! These are freshly prepared on the premises.

I sadly don't live nearby but I had been wanting to try this place for quite a while and I finally got to when I was on that side of town. I got there later in the day so I was expecting some donuts to be sold out but there were still plenty for a newbie to try. Out of the 5 different ones I got the blueberry cake was the best! I tried pieces of each of them to see for next time I get to stop in. The strawberry frosted was my second favorite of the ones I got to try. My mom said the chocolate honey dipped was very good.
I personally found them to be a little less sweet (still plenty sweet as donuts should be!) and lighter than other big chains and I really liked that about them. I also appreciated that none of them had an oil taste about them.
I look forward to being in the area again to stop by to try some more! Also, you can't beat the prices!
The donuts are amazing and the coffee is out of this world. The staff is as sweet as the donuts they're slinging, even early in the morning. I've ordered online for several midsized events (30+ people) and the orders are ready on time, individually wrapped when I've asked for it, and delicious. If you're looking for recommendations: the glazed twist, the blueberry cake, and if you really want dessert--the Tuxedo specialty hits all the right buttons. So glad THE SHACK IS BACK!!!

It is a JOY to see the Donut Shack of my youth restored to its glory. The new owners have made some wonderful updates. Online ordering and delivery are super easy and very convenient. I've never had an issue with the online system OR with getting my deliveries on time and packaged well with fresh donuts.
The service is great - all the staff are courteous and happy to help you. This is a great place for high school kids to work and learn customer service skills and experience the food industry. I've never once had a bad experience.
I honestly am not sure what other reviewers mean when they say the service and quality are poor - they must be thinking of the previous owners who owned Donut Shack for a short time after the original owners sold and before the current owners took over. Sometimes the donuts sell out - that's a fantastic thing! They're in high demand! Sometimes there are long-ish lines - another fantastic thing for our local businesses, especially in our current covid economy.
The current owners are so incredibly committed to making the Shack a success. I grew up coming here, and now it's a pleasure to take my children here and keep the tradition alive.
Donut Shack is one of the best donut places I have ever been to. They have a wide variety of delicious donuts and other pastries, at a cheap and affordable price. Their service is quick, the staff friendly, and pickup orders are always on time. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
What a roller-coaster of emotions I've had with Donut Shack since living in the area. Original ownership was great, the place was sold to a terrible owner, and now we've come right back around to proper ownership and the same great taste and quality of the original. Donut Shack is truly the best donuts around.
Prices have gone up a bit (but who isn't raising prices at the moment?) but the added convenience is worth the cost: you can schedule donuts online for pick-up and credit cards are now accepted. No longer having to worry about my favorite flavors running out is a treat.
I highly recommend Fudgies and Honey Dipped (similar to a normal glazed donut) for people looking to try out their first donut here.
I have stopped coming to the Donut Shack after the last owner just ran that place down but, oh I am so glad to see it is back to its former glory and now even serves gluten free items from the “Gluten Free Bakery Girl” in St Michaels. I am so happy! My husband loved the coffee and his donut was fresh and delicious. Thank you for improving the Shack were you could and keeping the retro charm and out of this world donuts they way they were.
I never knew that this place was opened I have passed by several times but this day I was stopped at the red light and I saw someone walk in, I made a u-turn to go back. They have some fresh and light doughnuts (some places have heavy ones)I got a cup of hot chocolate but accidentally knocked it over in the car so I don't know if it was good or not. I will come back for more doughnuts and hot chocolate or coffee.

Doughnut lovers REJOICE!!! The donut shack is back and better than ever. The Dutch Crumb, Blueberry cake and the tried and true honey dipped and chocolate iced are as they were. The new owners are original fans and made sure to honor us with original recipes and improved the coffee and beverage options. Applause!!! Thank you!
Update:
Late October 2019: glazed donuts are a safe option. Chocolate frosting has definitely changed again and tastes gross.
Late July 2019: Owner change! Doughnuts aren’t fresh. When I ask brought thyme back in I was given two “new” ones. The icing was dripping off them. I asked for a refund and won’t bother coming back.
