I had the 2 meat plate and it was very good. The pulled pork was excellent and not fatty or gristly, the brisket was a little chewy, but moist and not dry like a lot of places and it had a good flavor too, the cole slaw was cold and diced nice and small exactly the way that I like it and not dripping in mayo, and the potato salad was seasoned well and even had bacon in it. Yum Yum! Can't wait to try some of their other items next time I go. Recommended it to family and friends.
Food was excellent and everything was homemade. Mac n cheese made with real cheese. Potato salad, good as always. Had the smoked pulled chicken, on a scale 1-5, 5 being the best! I give it a 6. Roast beef was very flavorful. Wing we're good, sweet with a hint of heat. Sweet potato fries were the best I'd ever had. Staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic barbeque. Big juicy chunks of pork and baked beans with just the right amount of spice. I'm picky about cole slaw, but theirs is tasty. Their fries have flavor unlike the crinkle fries that still taste like the freezer. Good portion sizes, especially for takeout, and packaged so nothing leaks or seeps. Give them a try!
First time there, great service, nice casual place, delicious food. We had a pulled pork sandwich and a burger, both were yummy! They had complimentary pork rinds, ate it all up! Thank you!
Hubby & I ordered "to go"....Tuesday night. I had Grandma's noodles and the baked beans. Both were delicious. Grandma's noodles is good comfort food and the baked beans had smoked sausage in them which was delicious! Hubby got the Smokehouse platter with pulled pork & smoked sausage. He ordered the mac and cheese and the baked beans for his sides. He said it was great! We'll be back! :)

We’ve heard great things about this place and decided to try it out. Quick service, super nice staff, and the food was so good. Loaded baked potato with smoked sausage, and the rib platter with 2 sides and bread plus 2 drinks and our total was $22 and we left stuffed! We’ll definitely be back!

We went for the first time tonight and will definitely be back! My husband got the catfish and potato salad, and I got pulled pork and coleslaw. The food was delicious! Our server was sweet and attentive.
We had the ribeye and prime rib on Friday night...split them because we couldn't decide. Both were amazing! Called the order in and everything was correct and boxed well so it didn't roll around or spill. The young lady who did my order even helped me carry it to the car! Give it a try!
I love eating Smokehouse 228! Bar-B-Que Pizza on Wednesday, Prime Rib on Friday, Jumbo loaded Baked Potatoes every day...... yum yum! You have to try it!
Had lunch there today. It was very good. Had the pulled pork sandwich and my husband had the brisket sandwich. Waitress was friendly and food was served quickly. We will definitely be back.
I had pork tenderloin, grandma’s chicken soup and the fried okra. Loved it!

This smoked food is delicious! If you like BBQ then you have to visit at least once. Everything including the sauces are made in house by Grandma. She was testing a pumpkin pie recipe when we were there last, it was the best pumpkin pie I've ever eaten and I've eaten a lot of them from all over the country.
The brisket is smoked perfectly, like a roast. The ribs fell off the bone and were moist and tasty. You don't need extra sauce but the meat taste really comes alive when you slather one of their sauces on your meat.
The fries are real and spectacular! They tasted like old time fries that you make at home in your own kitchen.

The brisket was tender and flaked apart with a simple twirl of a fork. The hush puppies were crisp on the exterior and soft in the center. The kids enjoyed the fried pickles and the French fries. Dave, the Owner, was the PitMaster at the smoker and revealed his use of a special wood to get the right flavor to his meats. Superb. We will be back!
Delicious!! Wonderful, family atmosphere ok the water. It's so peaceful out here. The food is FABULOUS! We were passing through town and decided to stop.im so glad we did!! I had the chicken which was perfectly seasoned and we had coconut cake for dessert which was divine! We met the lady who makes the cakes and I'm telling ya she's a gifted woman in her art form. Melt in your mouth!!!
Meal was great and prices are hard to beat for what you get. The Hot BBQ sauce was to die for. I only had two small knocks; the chicken and dumplings were a tad salty and they need ice cream to go with their delicious cakes
Stopped with friends after adventuring and was worth going out of the way for. It’s on the marina and used to be another bbq joint - Sweet P’s. Super casual dining. Everyone who worked there was very kind, it felt like eating at a family bbq. The meats were delicious, but the Mac n Cheese was amazing (like seriously, what magic is in that cheese sauce?). Will be back for sure!
First time going to this restaurant and everything was 10/10. French fries are perfect, the brisket is so delicious and soft, the pulled chicken is so tasty, the chicken tenders are well seasoned and delicious, the coconut cake is absolutely amazing!!!!! Definitely my new favorite place. My family loved everything. Recommend 100%
Wife and I had a wonderful first time experience.. from loaded fries with shredded chicken and all you can eat catfish on Fridays... This place in new clean professional and fresh... Btw it's on the lake too

Pulled pork is good, brisket is very good. Ribs were outstanding but the real star of the show for me were the green beans.
Go here on Thursday and get the all you can eat catfish with one side , you better have a healthy appetite because the one piece of fish is almost as big as the plate it comes on and is it good ! Have awesome smoked brisket that's just as good as the fish !@

If you like BBQ this is for you. They have a little bit of everything. I had the brisket and my friends had the pulled chicken and pulled pork. We all got the granny noodles (chicken and dumplings), everything was amazing! The potato salad is a bit different with some added spice but it was good too. BBQ sauce is a tomato base instead of vinagar. Will definitely be going back.
Best ribs I have ever had. They have a very good hot barbeque sauce. The people that work there are the nicest people you could meet. All the makings of a great restaurant.
Just a small place on the side of the road with excellent bbq. Fast and tasty, service is excellent. Loved the Décor. The food portions are huge, one plate can feed up to 2-3 people. We ended up having plenty of bbq for the next 3 days.
Cool, rainy December day calls for bbq and Smokehouse 228 did not disappoint. I may have been the first customer of the day, but was quickly and warmly greeted. I ordered the Pudgy Plate, which comes with 2 meats and 2 sides. I got pork and brisket. The meat was hot and juicy. For sides I got the Cajun potato salad and slaw. I highly recommend the Cajun potato salad! It’s on the lake but this time of year it’s a mud pit. I need to come back in the spring. But this time of year go for the excellent bbq!
