Hush puppies are some of the best you’ll find. The slaw is outstanding. The BBQ itself is flavorful but dry without the sauce. The baked beans are a little too sweet for me but that’s just my preference. The service is top notch.
A group came in at closing and asked was it to late to serve them? They said absolutely not, have a seat! Years ago I ran in late, was gonna just get it to go, the wife said, have a seat you might need more tea! We aren't leaving fast.. Never had a bad service or meal there.. Awesome folks run it!
We moved from the Shelby area several years ago. This is one of the two dining places we miss the most. The BBQ pork is great! You can get it sliced, chopped, or course chopped. The BBQ (or red) slaw is a favorite. The area where we live now is strictly cole slaw. Alston Bridges is clean, has a dedicated staff, and speedy service.
Excellent tasting good old fashioned North Carolina bbq. Had a brisket and pork sandwich. You’re given the option of sliced or chopped, meat was cooked perfectly juicy not dry at all with just the right amount of smoke flavor to it. The bbq sauce is spot on. The staff is super friendly everyone is treated like family good community vibe to it highly recommended
Alston Bridges has been a favorite of mine since childhood. BBQ is my most favorite food, so I've eaten it all over the US, and nothing beats Alston Bridges BBQ! The BBQ slaw and sauce are divine, also!
