Went here for breakfast this past weekend. Very short wait and friendly staff. Your standard diner with great staff and really good food.
All the stuff we got was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The biscuits and gravy was especially yummy!
Our waitress was awesome and did a great job especially as she had a huge number of tables to wait. Super friendly and always around.
Overall great location for a good and great priced breakfast. I highly recommend!
Meet family here for breakfast. We had a great time. Our server Zizi was great. My brother loves the salmon cakes and my husband really liked his waffle. Everyone loved their fried potatoes (yum)
The greatest diner in The Washington area. Awesome diner food, friendly service and great atmosphere. This place attracts all kinds of people, all times of day, looking for good food. The coffee is delicious too! Very popular with families.
Really good diner food. Everything was pretty basic for a diner, but I love diners so this hot the spot for me. Biscuits were a bit toasty, but they still tasted really good.
The service was wonderful, helpful friendly staff. Food taste okay, I ordered the veggie omelet, home fries, water, and coffee. I enjoyed listening to music of my choice during the wait for my food which was not long. The view is great, nice area. Clean restaurant. I will visit again for the overall experience and great customer service... will order something different next time.
A Silver Spring institution for at least 50 years, the Tastee serves up American cuisine in all its glory from meat loaf to scrambled eggs with a side of scrapple. Two dining rooms, the big one to the right and a somewhat smaller one to the left. All shapes, sizes, and colors of customers. Buy a lottery ticket or a tee shirt when you pay your bill. Friendly waitresses, many from Ethiopia.
This place is awesome. The food is delicious and I always appreciate spots serving breakfast all day.
Service is very fast and friendly.
They are taking every precaution during Covid-19.
My fiancé and I ate here for breakfast last Saturday morning and we enjoyed it. I haven’t been here in years, but the food is still good and the servers are great! I had a “build-your-own” omelette, hash and biscuits. My fiancé and the pancakes and 2 eggs. This is a great neighborhood diner to go for a inexpensive, yet delicious meal. They’re operating with a limited menu due to Covid, but they will have a lot of options. They are also only seating the indoor dining area up to 25%, so you can feel safe eating indoors. Definitely recommend!
Brought someone to the area and was looking for a breakfast spot before heading back down the road. Food was good and I would go there again. My waitress was outstanding. I would say her name but I know I'd butcher it. She made it above average...
Absolutely delicious food ranging from breakfast to dinner options, great location with an abundance of parking ( which is heavenly considering it is downtown location), and great service.

My co-worker specifically said this place is your best bang for your buck lol! Nothing exotic but not bad for under 10 bucks. As opposed to a hit or a miss from Panera and tiny portions. I added my own salsa on the side. Real cool staff
My woman hipped me to this place over a year ago and I've been hooked! Can't stress it enough folks, you want some really good quality food and you're in the Silver Spring area of #Maryland do check out Tasty Diner. My go to ultimate pick? The Turkey club on wheat with a side of french fries. Presentation as you can see in the pic is on point, taste very clean meaning it doesn't taste like something with recycled grease or anything, everything they use to make your order is fresh. Absolute Heaven! If the cooks are females I'll marry em cause good food like this other than at home is hard to come by! You'll thank me later! #MD #DC #WashingtonDC #VA #Virginia
Historic place with really good American style dishes and inexpensive. Open 24 hours, serving beer and vine until 2AM. Also sells them for take out. Add to this a jukebox with hits from 80s and 90s. The place is a gem, hidden just a short stroll from bustling Elsworth - Cameron street. Just a small notes - better to sit by the window (better AC - tables near the kitchen are worst). And the tile floor leading to restroom is pretty slippery when wet (at least for Asixs footwear).
This is a gem of diner. Very old school, and so is the staff. The waiter was a dispassionate old soul, not giving a damn, borderline bitter, but thats the reason I loved the guy. Food was quick, greasy, delicious. Coffee was bold, black, and hot. Wasnt the cheapest place, but this is a true institution of a life left behind.
The restaurant didn’t have many people there. The staff was friendly and willing to help. My family came here to have dinner and we enjoyed the music box.
This is a very old diner and it shows both outside and in. I was in the area and looking to grab some lunch and thought I would give it a try. First impression gave me pause, but the service was excellent. The food was typical diner fare, but tasty. Importantly it was clean too! If I am in the area again, I would return.
