This Caribbean spot I went to is nostalgic for me. I’ve been going here since I was 12 years old. A rack (a lot) of us thought this spot fell off…including ME!!When I went back…I found out I was wrong. LET’S GO!! . Where I am: @negrileats . Location Reviewed: 965 Thayer Ave., Silver Spring M.D. . Menu Includes: Jerk, & Curry Chicken, Goat, Brown Stew, Oxtail, Coco Bread, Jerk Wings, Soups, Chicken, Shrimp, Veggie, & Beef Patties, Roti, Sandwiches, Rum Cake, Sorrel, & MORE!! . Items Reviewed: Their Jerk Chicken Platter (Half a chicken with jerk gravy-$.55, cabbage, & rice & peas $11.50). STAMP!! The chicken was tender, & more well seasoned than spicy. STAMP those rice & peas ESPECIALLY with that jerk gravy drizzled on top!! The Cabbage…DECENT. It was ok. Their Beef Patty (a flaky pastry filled with jerk spiced beef $2.85). STAMP!! I may be bias with this one, because the taste took me back to my childhood. Their Coco Bread ($1.85). STAMP!! Soft, warm, & fluffy…just like I like my ladies!! Their Sorrel, & Pink Lemonade ($4.25 each). STAMP!! Fresh, refreshing, & that Sorrel was THICK!! Their Curry Shrimp Roti Platter (with onions, green peppers, a seasoned wrap, & an extra curry gravy-$.55-$15.99). LIKE THAT!! An aromatic curry, a spiced wrap, & plump shrimp!! . Customer Service: On Point . Online Navigation: Easy . Parking: Rough. . Recommendations: The Jerk Chicken WITH an extra jerk gravy-important. The beef patty, the bread, Roti, & drinks!! . Music: YouTube: BYB 5-17-97 Excuse Me Butta Fingers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=STAMP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️➕=LIKE THAT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=DELICIOUS ⭐️⭐️⭐️=DECENT ⭐️⭐️=PASS ⭐️=NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

@negrileats Had the pleasure of devouring some Jamaican food! ✨️ Jerk chicken patties: Delish, flaky and flavour is *chefs kiss*. ✨️Jerk chicken Entrée: Jerk chicken itself here is great, cooked well and flavour is sooooo good. A must try imo! ✨️ Curry chicken Entrée: Tender chicken in a tasty curry sauce that I highly recommend. ✨️ Coco bread: Another must try if you're a bread lover, reminds me of a Jamaican version of Hawaiian rolls and they're HUGE. ✨️ Homemade lemonade and fruit punch: Another MUST TRY, these were SO yummy and refreshing. The fruit punch was a little bit smoothie like and it took ALL of my strength not to chug it lol. Definitely a great place that I reccomend trying and they have muriple locations in The DMV! - insta @ SpicyAivy

Negril had been my place for food when I attended college in DC in 90s. The curry chicken and rice was very good. The service was great. While mostly a carryout, there is some seating there.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for a couple years now and I can honestly say their food is pretty consistent. They’re usually busy so to combat the wait time I would suggest ordering ahead of time online. My family and I are from St. Elizabeth Jamaica so trust me when I say I know REAL flavor and what it should taste like. This may be the closest in the Silver Spring/ DC area that you’ll get to the real authentic cuisine!

Love this place and have been going here for many years! They provide great service and delicious food. Can’t keep the Jerk wings in stock because they are so good. Fruit punch is delicious and wish they had Sour sop juice as well… Will continue to dine here.

I can't rate the service and atmosphere, as I just received leftovers from my cousin he ordered my auntie some food yesterday and she couldn't eat it...he brought it over to me and I'm telling you...I warmed it up. The Leftovers were so amazing!!! Curry chicken and rice! I can only imagine what the fresh order would taste like. The generous amount fed myself and my teenage son. Spot on thank you look forward to having again. Very soon

Delicious, nutritious, and quick! I had not eaten at the Negril Silver Spring location in over 20 years due to poor customer service issues I experienced at the time. That was 1998. Today I decided to give them a try . I took a chance and ordered 2-days worth of food. I am so glad that I did. My orders were tasty, fresh, well packaged, and arrived quickly. If you are accustomed to spices and expect to burn your mouth eating the jerk chicken, you will not. The jerk is mildly seasoned to appeal to a wide, variety of customers. I suspect that the jerk chicken is also baked, not smoked or chargrilled. I ordered sorrel and tropical punch. I loved that they came in sealed bottles for my to-go order and not the Styrofoam cups. The shrimp roti was delicious and moist, the curry goat was super tender and cooked to perfection! Overall, I really enjoyed my meal! Everything was so delicious! Enjoy. 😋

Respect for your customers and a pristine environment go a very long way. Negril is much needed in the DC area. I hope you open many more locations.

There no place better, to get Jamaican food in DC than at Negril! I’ve been eating here for 35 years and every dish is good. I love the curry, fricasse, goat roti, and all the fish dishes!! The patties & coco bread are always fresh!! They also serve all the traditional beverages & desserts. What is especially nice is the affordable prices. Every ting Irie at Negril!!

This is my 2nd time visiting/ordering and the food was as good as the first time. Nice portions, and it was still hot when I made it back home. Highly recommend.

DELICIOUS DELICIOUS Jamaican food. Jerk is lovely and well priced. Wait times are always low and I would wait even if they were long. I love this place and I am a recurring customer. If you want jerk in the silver spring area, GO HERE!!

I have been coming to this Negril location since 1995. I have seen it change & blossom into a fabulous dine in & takeout eatery. The food is always good and the new selections of patties are a delight! Love the changes. Irie!

Loved the customer service from the two gentleman that helped me to my car. Loved the way time was put in to packaging. The lady I first spoke to was very rude in the restaurant... don’t yell at people from across the kitchen. We already have masks on it’s difficult to understand. The guys were great. Food was delicious better than other restaurants in the area. Huge line when I got in, but our staff lunch was packed and ready go! Will definitely order here again for our team! Thanks!

Been through several owners / staff , like they have variety of Parties, ( jerk, curry chicken, Beef) but they seem a bit dry at times , food is hit or miss, most of the time it's ok, the prices are average , there are better Jamaican spots around the corner as this place has gone down a bit sadly.
