Last night my new husband and I had the best meal of our lives at Millwrights! We began planning our St. Patrick’s Day wedding in October in Avon, CT. Soon after Chef Tyler appeared on my favorite show Top Chef and I told my fiancée (now husband) we will have to go there during one of our trips up for wedding planning. My husband surprised me with reservations for the day after the wedding and it was the best experience! The hostess knew we were there to celebrate our new marriage and made sure we had the best seat in the house near the view of the waterfalls. Then our waiter Ron helped us pick out the tastiest hand crafted cocktails! Everything on the menu sounded amazing so we let the kitchen decide and went with the chef’s tasting menu and the wine pairings! It was definitely worth it!! Our waiter
Explained each course with all the components, answered all questions and described the wines to pair. At the end Ron lined up all the wines to let us take pictures of the labels and then acted as our own personal photographer to take pics for us on our first married date night! This was an experience we will never forget and we can’t wait to go back next time we’re in the area!!
It was more than a dinner, it was an experience! Our waiter was Ron and he was superb. My husband and I had the 7 course meal and the wine pairing and it was outstanding. All the dishes were explained in detail along with each of the wines. Clean silverware and plate after each dish. It was our anniversary and a very nice note was at our table wishing us happiness and hoped that we enjoyed our dinner.
It was a fantastic evening and like my first sentence, it was more than a dinner, it was an experience.
Will go again
My husband and I had dinner in the “waterfall room” and ordered from the Valentine’s week menu. The meal was creative, delicious and beautiful. Our server was extremely attentive and professional. I love that the owner/head chef was visible in the main dining room. Looking forward to our next visit already!
Another amazing evening. The food is amazing. The desserts are indescribable. The staff in the Tavern is on point! We get to revisit the location of our wedding (15+ years ago), but as a completely different experience. Grateful.
I will give it 5 star as it is a romantic place to take a love. I would like to see more on the menu and more choices of Seafood and portions on the plate.
My husband and I chose this restaurant for an anniversary dinner as hubby is a huge Top Chef fan for eons and I’d really been wanting to try this place. It did not disappoint. We had the tasting menu, which was a lovely array of sampling’s from the menu. Try the tapioca appetizer so good! Our waitress was personable and prompt. Wonderful ambiance in the mill. Chef Tyler invited my husband to come meet him in the kitchen, which absolutely made his night. We will definitely be going back.
The tasting menu with the wine pairing is a delight to behold. Just an amazing symphony of food and drink.
One of our favorite places in CT/Western Ma area. Amazing food, great environment and exceptional staff. Always go above and beyond to make it a great experience.
Food and service was phenomenal highly recommend this place for a great evening out

We went for Brunch and everything was exceptional! The food was amazing, with attention to every detail, and the Bloody Mary bar was outstanding. Service was as good as any I have had, and the waterfall view was just stunning!
We visited to celebrate our anniversary. We sat at the bridge cabin table. All the staff were really friendly and we felt really welcome. Food was incredible. Our waitress, Victoria was really friendly and suggested some good stuff to order. The waterfall view from our table added to the ambiance. Loved it.
Beautiful atmosphere and amazing food. Always fresh and delicious. Perfect spot for a romantic dinner, and the staff ensures to make you feel welcomed…whether with a note congratulating you on your special occasion, a flower or simply a note welcoming you to their restaurant… the experience is 5 stars from the minute you walk in the door to when you leave. Although pricier, you get what you pay for and you won’t be disappointed.
If I had to choose one word to describe this place, it would be "impeccable." Everything is near flawless when it comes to this restaurant: the food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance, the staff, the view of the waterfall. Make sure you make a reservation. This place is a bit pricey but you get your money's worth.
Service, ambiance, good, couldn't be better. Three of us went, each meal was wonderful. If you haven't been, go. They also have various outdoor dining areas including a small area thst uses the food truck.
Every bite was better than the last. These meals were delicious, complex and innovative. We came for my sisters 30th birthday in search of a delicious culinary experience and Millwrights exceeded expectations. We opted to order off the menu rather than select the tasting experience, but are eager to come back for that! We got Tuna Tartare, Tomato & Butternut Squash Soup, Steak, Mushroom Fricassee, and Scollops. And for dessert we had Apple Pie. Everything was exceptional. As a vegan, they were extremely accommodating which I always appreciate. It was so nice to have a beautiful meal that everyone could enjoy.
Exceptional food and service! The atmosphere is perfect - nestled next to a waterfall. You have the option of eating inside or outside. The tasting menu along with the wine paring is perfect for everyone. Service is on par with the top restaurants around. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Another incredible experience at Millwrights! Our server, Lincoln, was so professional. Drink selection was great. Try the Rhubarbian…tequila, rhubarb and more turned into a delicious cocktail.
We shared a selection of small plates and entrees. Our favorites - focaccia (topped with all kinds of yummy things), Melinda Mae cheese (like a brie), gnocchi and the potato masala. Do make sure you save room for dessert from CT’s top pastry chef!
Millwrights has been on my to do list for years, so I was super excited when I found an outdoor reservation available recently. It’s simply gorgeous!!! Listening to the waterfalls from the river while dining is an joyous experience. I loved the intimacy of the small room for two with the lovely view of the river. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond throughout the night.
The combinations of fresh/unique ingredients really stands out at Millwrights. We got the waygu salad, fluke filet and the NY strip steak. The fish was by far the star of the night. It was cooked perfectly, all the flavors really complimented each other throughout. The waygu basically melted in your mouth, I never thought orange combined with beef could taste so good!
But I was really let down by the steak. The peppercorn sauce didn’t do anything for me compared to the other dishes. Maybe it was the cut, but it was just ok. Besides that, I had a wonderful dining experience and can’t wait to visit during the summer months.
