Of all the sushi places in Sioux City, this is my favorite. The rice is good, the fish is fresh and the chef is nice. I've had better sushi in bigger cities, but this is the best option for a sushi fix in the area.
Wonderful!. I've been to the sushi bar several times and have never had a bad experience. The sushi chef and those who assist him are always very friendly and comical! I don't go here when I am in a rush so I do not mind waiting for my check or food (especially because I get to watch it being prepared!) Unfortunately I've had to listen to other self centered customers who go here who are apparently in too much of a hurry and don't have patience or people just looking for something to complain about. I would recommend this place mainly for the sushi bar, I've never been to the hibachi part.
Great Sushi. Loved the sushi mix. A little slow getting orders out but great flavor and fresh seafood. Order the individual rolls from the back of menu
Great food, good servers, rude management.. The food has been consistently good in the 10-12 times I've dined there. The servers are always friendly and helpful, but the older gentleman who runs the place is RUDE. He once (very rudely, though it really can't be done pleasantly, of course) told us to hurry up and leave because he had other people waiting for our table. And it wasn't like we were lingering. We had asked for our ticket a couple of times and were waiting to pay. Very rude and NOT good business practice. Another time, I went in to purchase a gift card and it took at least 10-15 minutes, the man and his wife argued (harshly) in front of us about how to ring up the gift cards, then she gave me a gift card for 5 times the amount I'd asked for. When I explained I just wanted it for $50, she grew upset and got an attitude.
BUT I still do go for the good food (the filet is delicious, as is the soup and the yum-yum sauce!) but I try to avoid those people as much as possible.
Great Place. Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is a wonderful place to eat. The food cooked at the grill is super and the sushi is to die for. I've had sushi in other places throughout the country and the sushi at Tokyo is every bit as good. Great atmosphere as well.

Definitely the best hibachi restaurant in the area. The service is great, the waitresses are very nice, and the chefs are hilarious! My kids and family did not just enjoy the show, they also loved the food!
Over all very good experience. Have to say I have been to a number of resturants from fairly shadey to very upscale. I will say all in all our experience here was an exceptional one. We came about 10 minutes early for our reservation and were seated with a smile and enthusiasm. Our hostess, server and chef were great and made our experience one that we will come back for. The food portions were huge and they were spot on with delivery from the soup to the main entree. Can't wait to go back with my family and enjoy another great evening that you can't get just anywhere!!

Dining Experience Extraordinaire!. We made reservations for a party of 9 and had a wide variety of ages in our group, 8-90 years old. The host and waitresses were very attentive and our glasses were never empty and finished plates were never left on the table. The soup and salads were brought to us immediately after they took our order.
Our chef was so entertaining! He put on a really great show and turned our meal into a dining experience. His food "stunts" and skills with his utensils were very impressive. We asked him questions about his culture and his training and he was more than happy to visit with us. He was downright charming and genuine. He even had us catching food in our mouths as he tossed it (only one of us caught it!), laughing so hard there were tears, and clapping and cheering each other and him on!
The food was outstanding. We ordered mahi mahi, salmon, chicken, shrimp & steak and sampled each others meals. We couldn't decide what the best dish was because they were all so amazing. The flavors were fantastic and the steaks were cooked perfectly. The amount of food they gave each of us was so much larger than what we expected. They treated us as if we were in their own home. The whole experience was excellent and we are very excited to go back very soon! Our new favorite restaurant in Sioux City!
Great service, our cook was an amazing chef. Filet minion was cooked perfectly to medium rare for my husband. I ordered the rainbow roll and it was hands down the best sushi I've ever had! We will definitely return next time we're in Sioux City for my husbands filet minion and delicious sushi for me. Delicious as well as inviting!
AWESOME POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. I am getting married in a couple weeks and had already decided what the main course would be. After thinking about it, it was going to be way too much work and too stressful.. As I was sitting at the Japanese Steakhouse with my fiance and my son.......it dawned on me! Why not ask them if they can make their rice for us (and we would do chicken--have Chicken Fried Rice). We asked and the pricing was great $2 per person. Normally you can divide the rice in half so it saves us even more. We also discussed how much time they would need ahead of time to make sure they would still be able to do it....their response was Out Of this World....30 min WTH I thought.....I WAS SOLD!! What great food plus great service...Cant wait until the Wedding!!

Hands down my favorite restaurant in sioux city. Their fried rice is so yummy. I also love their hawaiian role. I would agree their servers are a little slow, but the food is so great it keeps me coming back. Im a regular there.

Delicious.. I've eaten there several times. We have always been sat right away and beverage orders come at a reasonable time. You can usually tell that the grill chef/cook has done the same thing all day long because it's pretty generic, but after going a couple times I've went back for the food, not the show. The Yum Yum sauce is great, and their iceburg salad with sesame peanut dressing is something I could eat every day. I did have the sushi once and wont ever order it again... The filet and lobster is my favorite, but I've found myself ordering the sirloin because most of the entrees taste the same but do vary in textures. I recomend the place. For the guy that went 5 minutes before close, you deserve cold food and bad service. NEVER go in to a restaurant right before close and expect to be doted on... I'm sure you/he was snapping his/your fingers at the service staff and shaking his empty diet coke glass at the server the second it was emptied. Be considerate of people that handle your food. Just a suggestion.

Yum. I've been there 3 times in the past month, once for lunch, dinner and take out.
Lunch:
Service- A group of 8 of us went for lunch and were sat right away. The waitress came over quickly, got our drink order however it did take a few minutes for her to return with them. Since it was dead I'm not sure why it took so long but it wasn't a big deal. I didn't like how the tip to the Chef was included with the server's tip, I felt like he deserved more- which led me to hand him cash afterwards.
Food- The food was great and 5 of the 8 had to go boxes because the portions were large. I did enjoy seeing it cooked in front of me along with the tricks.
Price- My meal (including drink and automatic tip) was $12. I feel it was worth it especially since I ate my leftovers for lunch the following day.
Dinner:
Service- I made reservations knowing it would be busy, but the hostess had no idea how to seat people and people were complaining about waiting for 45+ minutes when they had reservations. Once we (party of 6) were seated it took about 15 minutes to get our drink order and another 5 after that to get our food ordered. That being said, the Chef not only cooked our food but called our waitress over when someone needed a drink refill/etc.
Food- Again, the food was great and there were plenty of left overs.
Price- Dinner for 2 included cocktails(4), a diet soda, two sushi rolls and dinner (with included tip) was $77. It was worth it!
All 3 times the food has been great and I have nothing to complain about. Maybe have another Host on Friday nights or teach her how to seat tables when it's busy? Other than that, it's one of my favorites!
Great food and fun!!!. This place makes eating both enjoyable and fun...it's quite a show they put on while serving some excellent dishes!!
Group outing. Went in a group and had great service with good food. The steak was kinda bland, but the give you an awesome dipping sause. If you include the show (which was funny and just great) I would have to say that this is a must try at least once. :)
Great atmosphere we did have to wait for awhile for our chef but it was worth the wait food was excelent and the chef was very entertaining. Would highly recommend this resturaunt look forward to going again

Love this place. Reservations for 530 and stayed around 6. We had a slower waitress that did not come back and check on is much and lots of empty waters. That out of the way our cook was phenomenal and made the birthday we were celebrating really fun. The food was excellent and lots of fun was had by all.
I wish we had more time but we had to get our food to go after the show. The chefs are awesome! Great humor, really entertaining, and they make great food at a decent price.
Could use a touch up remodel and the routine is the same every time otherwise a fun experience with decent food.
New Year's Eve was truly special with our visit. I am so glad we went!

It was my birthday weekend, and I had a wonderful time here. The place was amazing and this was my first time experiencing the chef cooking in front of me. Great place to come with friends and family. Everybody is nice, and the place is clean. Great services!
