The Lakefront is always beautiful, then you go a little further to Lake Pontatrain and Lincoln beach it’s fun for any occasion, it’s free and they even have Jetskis rentals, a boat dock, you can go fishing, do a music video lol anything u want. Best free place to take your family and spend your summer
What a lovely gem to find. This is like a little museum. A 1933 airport, at the beginning of air travel, restored to all of it's glory and splendor. The only way we found it was because of the restaurant, which by the way is fantastic.
Very cool historic airport terminal clearly constructed during the golden age of flying. They've got beautiful murals and even old-time phone booths.
What a wonderful surprise this airport terminal is! We visited from Australia and our friends took us to visit - I love Art Deco history... and I love airports! S o I found this place to be wonderful. What a great restoration they have done to capture the history of this place. Congratulations to those involved.
I always enjoy using Flightline First at Lakefront Airport. They are very accommodating and a friendly FBO.
We had a very pleasant time here with my family, enjoying a few sandwiches and watching the planes. For obvious reasons the place can be a bit noisy, but other than that it has been a very good experience for all of us. Will definitely come back here later.
Nice airport and super nice staff. Loved the puzzles and games in the waiting area
This airport is a smaller airport. The art deco is beautiful. The restaurant inside the Terminal has delicious food and friendly waiters.
Beautiful building that is artwork into itself. They are restoring it to it's original 1930s look. A hidden gem in New Orleans for it's beauty.
Wonderful experience! Nice little quaint airport for private charter services and helicopters.
Recently renovated inside and it is just beautiful. Old time feeling, clean, historic. Old school telephone booths without the phones inside, but privacy for you to use your cell phone. Simply beautiful. Charter flights with small planes land here. Convenient, close to the lake, plenty of parking.
Love the architecture and art and Art Deco styling of the Lakefront Airport. This is where you find someone to give you flying lessons. I took two!
WOW. That was something.
There's a boat harbor next door too if you ALSO have your boat as well as your plane!!!
Beautiful old airport with a history of murals and restorations.
I been loving airplanes since i was 8 years old . I daydreamed every time i seen this airport till i hit my mid 40's and chose this airport as my 1st lesson flight. The runway here is a wet dream to land on . Thank you
Went for the Air Sea Land Festival. The folks that were doing the parking were doing a wonderful professional job. We stopped to ask about handicapped parking and was told where to go. We were able to get my husband and his wheelchair out of the truck with no problem because they allowed enough room between vehicles. The booths to get in had enough room to allow.for my husbands chair to go around the barriers with no difficulty. The festival itself allowed for plenty of room to use his chair and folks made room when he went by. We enjoyed all the planes and entertainment that the festival had to offer. Will be returning next year.
Beautiful Art Deco Airport! Needs to be viewed Inside as well!
The NOLA Lakefront Municipal Airports main terminal building is an incredible restoration to its original 1933 art deco architecture is Exceptional! The original murals are truly IMPRESSIVE!
