We were immediately greeted by our server who poured our tea, took our orders, and brought out a complimentary dessert. Our food was brought out very quickly and was freshly cooked and piping hot! Our server was attentive but not constantly standing over us interrupting our meal or conversation. The food was delicious (we had fried shrimp, fried oysters, fried scallops, boiled potatoes, Brunswick stew, fried okra, slaw, and hush puppies)! I was a little disappointed that they don’t have bbq boiled potatoes until dinner but the fried okra I ordered instead was very good. We will be back!
Very good bbq and fried chicken. Served family style with sides. Definitely left full and could not eat it all. Very reasonable prices. If you're looking for fancy not your place but looking for good food and friendly servers you will love this place. Very satisfied. Definitely will return.
Such a beautiful location for a wedding! Their rooms are nice and very spacious! Just conducted the Allen family wedding there today and it was such a blessing! The food was so delicious!
The food is so good & they brought a piece of red velvet cake so fresh surprise it comes with lunch ...home cooking good.
BBQ was good as was the Potato salad needed some sweet pickle in the slaw. I will try the seafood next time.

This place was fantastic!! We were traveling and happened upon it and are now trying to think of a reason to travel back!
We'll try the BBQ next time, but both the catfish & deviled crab were fantastic, as was our waitress. We didn't have room for dessert this time, but those pies are still whispering my name! We'll be back.
The food and service was excellent.
We stopped in here to have lunch on a Saturday. It was a group of 7 of us in we did the family style. The food was good and the service was great. If you are in the area and looking for shrimp, Flounder, fried chicken, barbecue, and all of the trimmings then this will be a great place. The only negative thing I can say is that it seemed like the tables were really small. The staff is super friendly and they accommodated us as we celebrated a birthday. There is a drive thru window and large dining area. Plenty of parking. We didn't have to wait either. Good food with good people. Enjoy! I highly recommend.
Try the BBQ pulled pork plate. It was so much food I could hardly eat it all. Very good. Good dining room. Very nice people. Go there you won't regret it.
Food is okay, but not a 5 star. Good fried chicken, coleslaw, and hush puppies, good staff, and good price.
Hi🙂 This was our very first time eating at Holt Lake. My husband and I both ordered seafood. I had the combination platter, the scallops were excellent, the shrimp were over done, clam strips and baby flounder were good. My husband ordered the all you can eat trout, the taste was good and it was hot. I will say the seafood could use a nice batter that has season to it and actually stays on it. Our waitress was very nice. I wish I knew her name, so I could give her credit. She did have a big party come in after we received our food, so she relied on one of the other waitresses to watch over her tables. Which was fine, but her stand in was slow and not always around when you needed more sweet tea. Which is a very big pet peeve of my husband's. But it was really good, the service was good over all, the prices were great(ur plate is full). We will go back.
Plenty of tasty food at reasonable prices! We had the All You Can Eat baby flounder fillets. It came with 2 decent-sized portions of sides. One round was all we needed - good and full! The hushpuppies were some of the best we've had anywhere - very hot and crispy.

The price per plate was a dollar or two more than we would pay at comparable BBQ spots...but we felt the quality, taste and portions far exceeded that increase.
My whole extended family has been eating at Holt Lake for many many years. It’s the best place for all you can eat family style. The food is outstanding! Every time we go back I think of all the wonderful memories of our family gatherings.
Omg the food is so good, absolutely a gem. Very tasty and quick service. Waitresses were so nice when they realized I was having a low blood sugar issue, for me stuff to try right away. Make sure order the Brunswick Stew!

I have not been here in 4 years because the restaurant and food did not impress me. I am glad to say the food has gotten much better. I adore fried pork chops and the ones I had this evening were very good. Crispy on the outside, done on the inside and the coating did not fall off as soon as you touched it. They were very good. The fries are just fries. The potato salad was not bad either. My friend has the bottomless flounder and although the pieces were small, they were good. The baked potato was a bit of a disaster because it was almost burnt on the bottom but still hard on the inside. The hush puppies were yummy as ever. We took home some brownies and they were outstanding! Really tastey without being super sweet.
The decor of the place is terrible. The brick red painted walls and 70's artwork make it look awful. There are only some cheap wood look blinds on the windows. Some nice country curtains would be cute. The lady that took the money looked like she was dressed to clean rooms instead of working at a restaurant. She should try and look more professional. I understand it is a down-home place but that is no reason not to look clean and neat. Stretchies need not be worn in a work place....buy anyone.
It is time to get with the times. Maybe offer some more choices too!
We been coming here for years and I would usually give 5 stars because the place is very clean 100 waitress are very acomadating and Owner is friendly- this is January- 2019 we had dinner there a couple weeks ago and my husband and I both got pork chops his were Grilled/small & dry / I got fried a very nice size / but very Greasy couldn't eat them there brought them home and arefrided them the next day and they were delicious!!
Please don't let the 4 stars stop you from going it's a great place to eat and everybody has bad days. 9 times out of 10 every thing comes out fine. 😋
They have the best all you can eat baby flounder fillet so good the best I ever had. The slaw is top-notch. Great hush puppies great barbecue everything is really fresh and cooked in fresh oil. Not greasy
My family and I visit Holt Lake at least 3 times a week and we love it!! The food is always hot and delicious!! They have a wide selection of choices on the menu. Sometimes it's hard to decide on what u want because everything on the menu is good! Workers are super courteous too. If you're looking for good ol' finger lickin' good food at a good price, check out Holt Lake!!
Casual good eating place for fresh Seafood and awesome BBQ. Southern sides that are hard to choose from, they are so yummy. I went with the 3 seafood combination, with cole slaw, and boiled potatoes. My Mother in law had the Whole flounder, we were completely satisfied with the quantity and quality of our food. Your going to love the PRICES!
Had a 60th Wedding Anniversary party here. Food was delicious and plenty of it. Ate family style! Price was reasonable. Always a good place to eat. Barbecue, fried chicken. Fried fish. Popcorn shrimp and sides. Plenty ice tea.
Would recommend to friends and family.
We live an hour and a half away, so we dont get up that way often, but when we go to the nearby outlets this place is a can't miss. I always get pulled pork, which is fabulous, but last trip I got the BBQ and fried chicken platter. The chicken was up there with the best I've ever had. Servings are so large its hard to finish, even for a big eater like me.
