Papusas!!!! On a university visit and found this place. Family owned and ran restaurant. Veggies are growing outside and the food is wonderful. The lady the runs the place was very friendly and accommodating.
Absolutely awesome Bean and Cheese Pupusas! 1st time I've had them. Would highly recommend giving them a try! We ordered and ate in. Also try the beverage Horchata (contains milk products) highly recommend that also! Everything is made fresh, after you order it, so plan on a relaxing wait while you anticipate the goodness you are about to receive! Cash only. Closed Monday. Suggest Small groups, or Take Out. Perfect little shop, Pupusas are perfectly authentic and the Salvadorian cabbage on the side is amazing. Cash only but worth the trip to the atm.
The owner and cook is so polite and helpful and really makes this an incredible dining experience.
Highly recommended if you're in the area.
Everything is made fresh so budget that into your eating time.
About 10-15 for a meal if they're not busy.
Very good Pupusa! We like the bean and cheese. Comes with warm tomato sauce and a seasoned coleslaw type cabbage to put on them at the table. Made after you order, so don't stop in a rush. But definitely worth the wait!
Girasol Restaurant is a great place to pick up some awesome pupusas. They have other things as well and I will be sure to come over more often and continue to try their other dishes. The pupusas are made fresh to order and the cabbage salad that goes with it is great.
Girasol is run by an El Salvadoran Mom who makes all the pupusas from scratch, and they're absolutely delicious. I don't remember which ones I had (I went a while ago) but no one in the group I went with were disappointed. My only complaint is that there aren't other locations.
Be ready to wait, but know the wait is well worth it! Call in advance and pick-up. Unique and ever so delicious. The owner definitely puts her love and soul into her work and you can taste the difference.
