We were there on July 5th and had the perch basket and it was to die for�Our waitress was excellent and the DJ - Peanut Butter Paul was amazing-could read the crowd well and was very creative with his music�
Had the perch basket, and a few bloody mary’s. I would recommend them to anyone. The bartender was right on top of things, even though they were busy, and during harborfest weekend. If you visit SouthHaven. Definitely stop here.
Everything was great from the view, drinks and fish tacos. The staff definitely worked well together and were very attentive with the customers. Will visit again!

All food was fantastic. I had the perch wrap which was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Cajun perch dinner. Their perch dinner out did Clementine's buy a yard! Another in our party got the wings, they were huge. Would definitely recommend, the food was excellent!
This is our first time to Captain Lou’s and we were not disappointed! Our waitress Paige was phenomenal! My wings with bang bang sauce were out of this world! My new favorite wings! Sandy had the perch wrap and loved it. She also at the North Pointe Cooler and Mer Bear for cocktails! The other popular choice was the perch dinner! We will be back!

Convenient to the Maritime Museum. My brother was in from Maryland visiting and he wanted fish and chips, so the museum person pointed us to Captain Lou's. So glad she did! I had fish taco and bro had perch sandwich. Sweet, tender, fresh fish, done just right. Yummy lunch. Even though it was busy, service was great, and waitress was as attentive as she could be despite being kept extra busy. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. I thought prices were reasonable given its great riverfront location Fun to watch the boats going in and out and the drawbridge raising.

Captain Lou's is a great option. Perch Tacos were flavorful and fresh. You must order the refreshing sangaria. Love the pop of coconut in the drink. Server was awesome during a very busy time. Love sitting right down on the boat dock!
Had this for lunch after a trip in the Lindy Lou. Was able to get a table overlooking the river, and had the really good Famous Fish Basket. Had it “Cajun Style”. Fun Reggae versions of popular songs could be heard throughout.
The drinks were fantastic, the food was incredible and you cannot beat the location. I had the fish wrap and Captian Colada. Both highly recommended
Incredible spot all throughout! Right on the water, with self-seating encouraged in a nice, open, rustic space. Service was great, with awesome drinks and very good fresh food. You can tell these guys do things right even based off the simple things like their crispy onion rings, and even the side pickle that came with my fish sandwich. Highly recommend!
Food was fresh and the view was beautiful! Tried their Cajun Fish Basket which came with tater tots, yumm! They gave us a side of tartar sauce and ranch sauce as requested. Service was good. A little on the pricey side, but when visiting, definitely worth it!
I absolutely loved it, and the food was amazing but the environment is what will bring me back, it definitely has a HomeTown summer Retreat vibe to it. again I love it.
Fantastic food. Awesome atmosphere. Great service. Our food came quickly and tasted amazing. My only issue is that we were a party of nine (5 adults, 4 children), and they wouldn't let us split the check. So be prepared if you're going in with a group of eight or above to pay one check.
Been to Captain Lou's 4 times now and each time I've gotten the perch dinner and it has been so good. Easily the best perch dinner in town. Drinks are also very good and it's right along the river, what more could you ask for
Place was packed but we were really lucky to snag a table as someone was leaving as we walked in. The jalapeno poppers were 🔥🔥🔥 but damn good and I can't wait to come back to have their cajun perch dinner again.
2020 Edit: came back to show new people the Cajun Perch and it was still super awesome. Even got the same nice server as last year!

Companion and I had a delicious and delightful lunch out on the deck. The fish tacos were wonderful and my rum runner was good too! Service was top notch. There was a large bus group of 40 ahead of us and the waiter warned us that it might take longer to get our food, but we got our order in a reasonable time. Both the waiter and the manger check in with us to be sure we were happy. When it was time to pay, the manager literally ran to the cash register and back. Definitely stop here.
I honestly can’t say enough good about this northern tiki cantina. Great drinks, wonderful food, beautiful waitresses, great atmosphere,………… you get the point?! I dig this place. Follow me in my travels on Instagram at mylifemyterms55
Oh my goodness! The smoked salmon dip might be one of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten... perch basket was delicious as well. Fun atmosphere and great service. Social distancing in place, but know they will close early if slow, phones don’t work, and social media not updated. Best bet is to just drive by.
Captain Lou's is always a highlight of my South Haven trips. We always go for the drinks which are cheap and decently strong. The bartenders are pretty on it during busy times too. Also be sure to bring cash for cover if you're visiting at night
I've been to this place twice now and I love it. The food is always top notch and the drinks are too! Staff is very friendly and helpful, food and drinks take a little while to come every time I've been here but that's to be expected when this place and how busy it always is, well worth the wait!
Owner was absolutely amazing, great food and decent service. Went for our wedding dinner and he took care of us even when we came back later that night, he brought all of our drinks. Thank you so much.
