It was pouring and we finally got the spot. The place wasn't busy for a Sat. evening but I guess that's what rain does. We had a salad and chicken burgers with hotdogs. Overall food was ok, but I found the service was quite slow. Maybe the outdoor patio would have been nice but inside looked like pretty worn out.
We had breakfast. There was a lunch crowd making it very long wait time. Breakfast is another story. Portions are large. You can eat breakfast and skip lunch~ Or pack up the leftover in a container and bring it to the slopes. Price is fair for two meals!
We went to the speakeasy in the back. Cool vibe, intimate space, great bartenders that clearly enjoyed the mixology. We had tried a couple different options. The space only fits 20 people and service and experience are very important to this place so our entrance was spaced out giving the bartenders time to help the previous group that entered.
Regular pub and sandwich restaurant in the front, but the 20 person Speakeasy through the cold freezer is exceptional with live music and total hipster vibe - special custom cocktail 🍸 menu with about 20 options (see menu pictures) and a $10 cover is added to your bill. It's totally worth it, underground, and apparently very difficult to get into. Filled with beautiful people, art, and a visually captivating light up bar. The staff and bar tenders were very friendly and loved their jobs. 11/10 just exceptional and a unique experience in the heart of South Lake Tahoe that's totally off the map, unassuming, and hidden. Just loved this!!! 😍 Thank you sweethearts 🙏🍸
This place has a great espresso martini. Ace hooked it up and absolutely killed it. Top 10 espresso martini of all time. Honestly if I ever got married I would fly Ace out to make us espresso martinis at my wedding. We are getting married in November in Pyongyang, North Korea and I already out in a request to get him a visa. It’s not much but it’s honest work. Even if I have to invite Kim Jong Un to the North Korean nuclear factory for my wedding in order for Ace to come I would. The honest hard work and hustle pays off at this place and the service is top notch. I would absolutely come back to this place.
Great little coffee shop. We were waiting in line to eat at the California Burger joint right next door and apparently this place shares a liquor license with them so when you go inside the burger place, there's a doorway to leads to this coffee shop that also has sandwiches and other items. Got a latte and a large coffee for 6 bucks which is about half the cost of Starbucks which is right across the street. Cool environment and had TVs with sports on the screen. Would definitely go back.
Cool speakeasy chill ambience Alex and Alex made amazing cocktails. Warm and spice Italian Manhattan and sweet Monkey Business tasted like banana foster.
One of the best BEC bagels I’ve had. Truly a gem in s Lake Tahoe. Everyone was friendly who worked there, kinda busy Sunday morning but worth the wait to order.
Came here with my partner and got to check out the speakeasy! There's not really a code or anything so just ask the bartenders to be put on the list or ask for Dean and he'll put you on the list. We were told it was a 30-40 minute wait and that we would get a call when it was time for us to enter the speakeasy. To kill time, we just checked out the surrounding area/shops. We never got a call so we went back and checked on the wait. I did see the list again and there were several groups ahead when we were originally 2nd on the list so that was a little annoying. However, we got in within 10 minutes after checking in again. The speakeasy itself is pretty cool and the drinks were great as well. Definitely check it out and wait there to get in instead of waiting for a call.
Great food , wait staff awesome the food came so quick, we ordered 16 meals it came within 15 minutes
Great experience the food was awesome my favorite was the California burger
Speakeasy review: Fred takes pride in making the best cocktails you've ever had, with careful attention to every detail. This is a tiny place that can have a long wait, so if you're eating nearby beforehand, like at the sandwich shop or California Burger, get on the wait list here first. Or kill some time while you wait with the excellent beer selection at either place.
Good quality, fresh breakfast and great atmosphere. Service was great at the same time. Spent $170 for party of 8 so pretty decent but some may find little expensive. Try their avocado toast, hot mama, hot chocolate and coffee. Overall , everything was great.
Solid sandwich options! They say they're going for a deli feel with their food, and you can see it-- especially if you choose to make your own rather than picking one of their pre-made options. (I got the caprese though, so I'm hypocrite)
They also have multiple blended alcoholic drink options, so that's a win!
Note: though there is a door that connects them to California burger company, they don't have the same menu and as far as I can tell you can't order from eachother's menus
We went here for breakfast and both ordered the wake up call. It was delicious especially the bacon they used.

I always love finding the hole in the wall bars when traveling. This speakeasy was just what i wanted to experience with my friend for her birthday. Although a bit of a walkabout to find that is part of the adventure. Once we made it inside the art deco decor and ambiant lighting flashed us back to the upper echelon of the prohibition era. The menu is loaded with craft cocktails. I enjoyed the tequila while my friends had the scotch and martini. After a few mezcalculations, laughs and tears we made a pinky swear to come back on our next trip.
Go into the cooler for great cocktails. Bartender is supe friendly and the booze is all top shelf!!!
