Walked in at 9:45PM today after a long day in airports and facing an hour and a half drive from DFW. I sat alone at the bar, embarrassed to start a meal knowing they closed at 10:00 on Mondays. Service was nevertheless prompt and courteous; a complimentary piece of edible art was a very nice surprise in addition to my sushi/sashimi order.
The fish was fresh and the rice was the right consistency, but the great service makes this a 5/5 dining experience.
We are always blown away by how fresh and flavorful everything we get is. Have never been disappointed or underwhelmed. Top notch sushi and sashimi every time!

Very tasty. Okay I've seen good and bad reviews for sushi zen but I have to say that for the sushi places around grapevine and Southlake, I like it. It's pretty good. We typically had been ordering delivery from two places but their quality is, if it were a hotel it would be a motel 6, and sushi zen is more like a residence inn. The caterpillar roll was really tasty,it is what I base many sushi places on . It had a few bigger bones but hey!,The eels have a lot of them and one or two I'll forgive unless its a sushi joint akin to a Gaylord Texan hotel quality. My husband always eats the California roll and a volcano roll. The sushi zen had a Toreador roll. It had crab, Serrano chilis, avocado, topped with scallops and a spicy mayo. Hubby stated 'very yummy'. My daughter's dumplings (gyozas) were 100% yummy. She ate them all up! We will be ordering from them again definitely. I'm also going to have to be hard up to go back to Asian top or sushi Sam. Sorry guys.
I checked the desert menu before we left with our take out order and they have Mochi Ice Cream and Mango Sorbet!!
Oh!! Last thing! They deliver for FREE!
Now down side if ordering take out or going to eat there for a 30 or hour long lunch, it took 30 minutes to get my food at noon on Saturday and there weren't too many people in the restaurant. Solution phone ahead orders either eating in or delivery. Order a good 45 minutes early for delivery and maybe 15 minutes before going to dine in if they'll allow it. Just a suggestion.

Nice & Pleasant. Sushi Zen is one place my wife and I try to visit at least once a month. The rolls are wonderful and the service is pretty good. Although last night's rolls were on the thin side, we still enjoyed them. My mother is visiting this week and was able to join us. She really enjoyed her dinner.
Sushi Zen is a nice, quiet restaurant. You can have nice conversation with the person/people you are dining with and enjoy some wonderful food.
I'll be back!. My son took me to Sushi Zen for lunch. We shared several rolls. All I can say is....WOW....I've found my new favorite restaurant! The decor is very "zen", the staff very friendly, and the food is out of this world!! I highly recommend Sushi Zen!
Awesome food!. The new management has done an awesome job on the place... great atmosphere, good staff, fantastic sushi. The volcano roll is still my family's favorite.
A great date night!. If staff is important than this place has it, and by staff I am really talking about Brandon. Brandon is the guy who works behind the bar. The first night we went there, we sat at the bar. Brandon was very knowledgeable and was very patient with us and all our questions. The food was devine. The atmosphere was fantastic. The biggest drawback to this place was the pricing. If you're looking to spend a lil more money for excellent sushi, then this is your place.
It is now under new ownership and is now called sushi zen. The fish is excellent, selection is great and the new owner is extremely friendly. I particularly enjoyed the uni.

Perfect dining atmosphere. I have now visited Avocado California Roll and Sushi at 2 locations in the DFW metroplex. The Southlake one is excellent. Food is fresh and fast, and most importantly, delicious. It's great for a date, and just as nice for a family evening out. Our favorite sushi restaurant in the area!
