Sperryville Trading café was amazing!! My boyfriend and I loved it!!! Everyone was so friendly and so nice, and the service was great!!The food is fresh and so delicious, I'm not a big burger fan but I ate all of my burger, my boyfriend had a steak and cheese he loved it, I had a small bit and I throughly enjoyed it (even though I hate steak and cheese, I would get one next time I went). Great place to eat and just relax, we both agreed we would recommend this wonder place to anyone!!

I road by it before they started construction and wondered if anyone would rebuild. Well Eric and Janet did, great concept, very relaxing for the road weary. Had the Grilled pastrami, it was excellent. Would recommend it to all my friends and everyone looking for good affordable eating and relaxation.

If you’re in the area, stop in for amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Also, they allow BYOB and have a decent selection of beer and cider for purchase. Perfect for a post hike/run nosh. Also, staff is super friendly.

I used to visit the emporium that used to be here back in it's hey Day- & the place has been empty. so I was excited to see this beautiful cafe was open & stopped in - my husband ordered the cherry pie - I asked him how he liked it- his answer- gone - he ate every bite - It's very obvious the owners pay attention to the details & are excited to give good serve with excellent food - Definitely going back

This has become my favorite place in Sperryville. The food is great and service is quick. It also is a good place for a break when taking a course at RappU.

We've only had breakfast there, but it was very good. The grits are unbelievably creamy. The staff is the best you could ask for, courteous and always smiling.

My mom and I were there last weekend for the Dukesfest and stopped in for a late lunch. They were great people and very hospitable. The food was delicious also. If you are in the area, this is must drop in place. If I'm ever around there, I will be dropping in again.

My husband told me the story of a former coworker who had decided to take a new direction in his life, leave DC and open a new cafe in Sperryville. It was time for a day trip to the Shenandoah foothills to meet Eric, the owner, and sample the food. I had already checked out the website and the menu items looked delicious! When we arrived at the cafe we were warmly greeted by Eric. The menu selection is amazing. The most difficult decision was whether to have breakfast or lunch. We opted for lunch, but the next time we go (and we do plan to return) I'm going all in for breakfast! Our food choices were the Swiss Mushroom Burger and the Grilled Pastrami Sandwich. Both were delicious! We also bought an assortment of cookies for dessert and to take home. The other fresh bakery items looked so tempting! I'm very glad we arrived there before noon (on Sunday). The place started to fill with people by around 12:30 pm and the line was long, but moved quickly. The restaurant is brand new, very clean and comfortable. There is a handicapped ramp at one end of the building making it very accessible. Thanks Eric (and Janet in the kitchen) and we'll see you again soon!

Great food and atmosphere! Make sure you try the newest entry: the steak sandwich. It's so tasty! Fresh ingredients (including local eggs) and overall a great care in how things are made are key to how good everything tastes. The milkshakes are divine too. We will be back!

Can't encourage you to try this gem enough! Owner Eric was a member of the typical D.C. Metro rat race. He and his wife opened this place to try something new! C'mon- you know this is the equivalent of running away to join the circus in this area, and we ALL dream of doing it! Eric and Janet have created an oasis in the country- great atmosphere and charm, very welcoming and the food is amazing! Locally sourced ingredients show; try the sausage!! Plus, if you ride, you can enjoy the many beautiful roads both leading to and from their location like 211 and Skyline.

I found this establishment when looking for a place to eat after hiking Old Rag. Unfortunately I didn't look ahead to see the hours and we went on Tuesday, which is the only day they are closed. However, we came back bright and early the next day and had a wonderful breakfast. Owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming to us. Everything is fresh, made to order and largely local. I love that they try to get as many local goods as possible to use in their cooking. In addition they were very accommodating of those with different dietary restrictions. My boyfriend doesn't eat pork and they were very accommodating when making his country breakfast. I personally do not eat meat and I was able to have a wonderful vegetable omelet. In summation, great service, great food, and very accommodating. Greatly enjoyed this eatery and would love to return if I'm ever back in Virginia.

Best steak and cheese sub I've ever had. The Italian sub was sublime, too. And the strawberry shake, with real strawberries in it and seemingly with cream and all good ingredients, capped off a perfect quick meal after a long day hiking on nearby Old Rag Mountain. The lady behind the counter was gruff and efficient - fine by me. Dang, what a good meal!

It’s nice to see a place that’s been there for over 115 years. The hotdog was absolutely delicious and that’s what really mattered to me. I don’t mind waiting for food that’s going to be done right. If I lived locally, this would be a place I would come by and grab a snack everyday. Maybe one day I’ll come stop by again and try something else. I’m looking forward to it
