We're so glad they're open again post-hurricane! As always, the food was great and the service was friendly. Can't wait to come back!
My parents used to take me here when I was 7 after baseball practice. I'm 26 now, and the food tastes exactly the same as it did then. In the almost 20 years I've been dining at Mario's, I can't recall a single bad experience with service. The thing that keeps me coming back though, is of course, the food. It's simply the best. The owner truly cares about service and his customers. He's extremely hard working, and it feels great supporting the business.
We stopped in, last minute with a large group of 10 people, 6 adults and 4 children. They fixed up a table quickly and very socialbly and we were seated within 5 minutes. I must agree with previous reviews, that the drink orders were a little slow in coming but we were there on a Thursday and they seamed to be a little short on waiters.
The food was great! I mean really good and rich.....
The chips and salsa was very good and served in a larger bowl with individual smaller bowls to use from green or red sauce choices.
We will definitely go back even with a 20 minute drive.
Seriously, seriously good food! Big portions, and attentive waitstaff. Also impressed by the general appearance of the restaurant. If I had to give one critique it would be that I never knew who my actual waiter was, but we were waited on by several individuals and we never felt ignored, so honestly it was not a problem.
Generally enjoyable every time. Good quality Tex-Mex. Not overly spicy (heat), so it's a great place to take visiting Yankee relatives. Very Family atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff. Outdoor patio when the weather is nice. Recommended. - - we eat here a lot...
I ordered of menu (tacos al pastor) which were very good. One taste of the side of beans and I knew they were made with fresh lard, which is a rare treat at Tex Mex restaurants nowadays.
I showed up about an hour before close so was only one of a few tables so I can't speak as to what it's like at dinner time. Since I am from out of town, might never eat here again to update this review, but if I go back at some point I will make a point to eat here.
Long time customers, delighted to see they are open. Food was delicious, hot, and served quickly. My experience since they reopened after the flood, if you liked them before, you will still love them. Loved it!
I just love Mario's. My kids love it. I take my 4 year old for lunch sometimes and they all know us. The staff is friendly and gets to know the regulars. Sometimes I find the wait is long... Takes longer to get drink orders and come back, etc... Other than that I'm always happy.
We discovered this place on a whim, we were pleasantly surprised. Seated right away, chips, Salsa and drinks soon after...if you like hot salsa ask for the "hot stuff", its awesome. The fajitas, burrito carbon and the chicken Verde enchiladas are all fantastic. We eat there at least once a week.
Update: They have upped their game! The service has got EVEN BETTER! absolute must have. 6 stars aren't allowed otherwise... They would get a 6.
This is the best mexican food joint in the Woodlands/Spring area. Hands down. Impeccable food, great service, fantastic experience.
