Wow is all I have to say. Came for dinner as a date night and EVERYTHING Literally EVERYTHING was AMAZING. We were seated immediately and we were given complimentary green tea that was hot and delicious. We went all out and shared an appetizer and entrees and desert. Each course was better than the next. Cool thing is that they have a whole new menu out next week. The owner was amazing and told us that they will have a full bar soon. You really were made to feel like a good friend who came over for dinner and not a customer. I can’t wait to come back and see the changes. If you are curious about trying Afghan food you can’t go wrong here. The menu clearly explains in English what wonderful delights are coming upon your order. Pleasant relaxing atmosphere and a wonderful experience. I was shocked at how good this was. Not that I care, but for those that do there was an entire page of Vegetarian options! If that is your thing this is an very easy place to enjoy something tasty.
We had our son’s birthday party here, it was an amazing experience for him and all our our 35 + guests, the food was excellent, the service was perfect, they let us decor the stage to match the restaurant relaxing interior design.
Overall my son would remember this event for ever as far as our guests, they loved it.

I really liked the kabobs - chicken, lamb & beef combo. Also I went there couple of times for dine in, everything is so good.

Their vegetarian food was delicious, but portions were on the smalller side. We were offered complimentary green tea that came in a beautiful pot. The waiter and host were very friendly and welcoming. Price was reasonable.
I've always come here. Ordering under new management. I ordered bone in kabobs and everything was fresh and delicious. Very happy customer!
Randomly stopped by and was pleasantly surprised. This place is spacious and very clean. The server was super friendly. But, on to the most important thing, the food.
The deluxe kebab was amazing. Four pieces of chicken, four lamb and one beef kebab. The beef was very creamy. The chicken was moist. The lamb was rich with flavor. They give you plenty of chutneys, some creamy and some spicy so i love the variety. Unless you are hungry, the deluxe kebab is sharable.
Definitely coming to try more.
We arrived for dinner around 5:30. Dining room was empty. But soon filled up. In the beginning, you have a choice of salad or soup to sy as rt. We started with the sambosay Kochaloo (fried pastry with potato, onions, and herbs) for an appetizer. Very delicious. Comes with two sauces a white and a green. The green has a little spice. It was delicious. For the main course, we had the Shami platter. Comes with two kabobs, some red onion, and a nice piece of naan. Also ordered Bouranee Baunjaun (fried eggplant). The eggplant was amazing. The entire meal was amazing. Reasonable prices for delicious food. We also had the rice dish with carrots and raisins.
It is a casual dining place. The food was good and the server was very pleasant. We went there right after they opened and it wasn’t busy and everything came to our table very promptly.
We've lived in the area for a couple of years and finally gave Afghan Kabob a try. Wow! We were missing out! We ordered the Peshawri Chaplee Kabob, the chicken Palau Kabob, the Sambosay Goshtee, and the Mantu App. Ordering online through the website and picking up was very easy. The chicken kabob was very tender, loved the rice. Lots of flavor in every dish. I couldn't wait till the next day to finish the leftovers. This place will be in our take-out rotation :-)

One of the best foods I have ever tasted. The service is superb. The staff are friendly and attentive..This is a wonderful place to go to tastes the deliciousness of Afghan food. The owners are hands and super welcoming. If you are in the Fairfax Station, VA area and want a real treat.. if you ever want to host an event they also have a beautiful event hall.
Afghan Kabob serves very tasty food. I enjoyed the kabob, bread, rice, chick peas and salad. It was a lot of food and enough to share with my wife. This place I would definitely go back to.

I would have given it a 5 for the wonderful food (authentically Afghan, according to the people who took me there as an out-of-town guest), fine dining ambiance, reasonable prices, generous serving sizes, and obsequiously friendly table service, but...
The men's bathroom was a mess. :-(
This is probably not a big deal for some people, but if my wife had been here, and the ladies room looked like the men's room, we probably would have got up, paid for anything that we had already eaten, and left the restaurant. Her theory is that the bathrooms in a restaurant should be spotless so that the restaurant staff can be totally clean when they exit the bathroom and come into direct or indirect contact with any food. She might be a little extreme, but it does bother me, too, when I see a restaurant bathroom that looks worse than a hardware store bathroom.
The proprietors need to learn that EVERY job is important (even the non-sexy jobs like mopping floors and cleaning toilets). Also, the cleaning should not be done by the cooks, because they are already busy making all that great food for us. Better that the cooks stay in the kitchen!
If I were the restaurant owner, or even just the person in charge of the diining room, I would clean the bathrooms at least once a day before opening the restaurant, just out of a sense of respect and appreciation for our customers.
The food itself was so good that I will take the time to visit this restaurant again, next time I am in the area. If the bathrooms are spotless, next tine, I will update this review to show their improvement, and make it 5 stars instead of 4.
Our family ate here tonight and we were thrilled with the great food and super friendly service. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked and spiced. The portions were also very generous. This place is a gem!!!
