I haven't had food this good since Alberto's (California) in 1993! Turns out the Chef was a 20 year employee! Carne Asada and Guacamole are to die for. Huge burrito. Pickled jalapeno peppers with carrots and onions are perfect and out on the salsa bar. I now have a new favorite place and will be looking for excuses to drive the 85 miles to Springfield......

Best Mexican food in Missouri hands down. I am from California and could not find a good Mexican restaurant to eat at, until I found them. The food is always hot and delicious and the customer service is on point as well. I can’t wait to eat here again.

My favorite place to eat! Being a California transplant I found myself depressed after finding out how awful everyone in Springfield made mexican food. I discovered Purple Burrito shortly after they opened and it's been love ever since. The taquitos with guacamole are superb, beef chimichanga is to die for, and every taco is amazing. Awesome people too.

I’m a huge “street taco” fan...and these guys have the best fish, carne asada, shredded beef & carnitas tacos in Missouri...by FAR! The prices are reasonable & everything tastes fresh & good. Fast service too!

For those familiar with Rubios in San Diego, you will like their fish tacos. The food is very authentic southern california mexican food. I highly recommend.

Best Mexican food in Springfield! For those of us who are California transplants, specifically, So Cal, it's a taste of home, every time. The staff is always kind and happy to see you. We drive all the way from Nixa, just for 'rolled tacos' and it's always worth the trip!

Ate here for the 1st time & these are the biggest burritos I have ever seen. I hade the potato, bacon breakfast burrito & it was delicious! My nephew had the Barbacoa Burrito he really enjoyed it, it was a bit greasy, but he really liked it. Our son had a quasadila & liked it as well. He didn't like the peppers & onions but that's a personal preference. Will definitely be back!

Never been to one before, but I will definitely be coming back! Went to the Purple Burrito on South Cambell and got the chicken burrito. Best. Burrito. Ever. I've never had a burrito as good as the one I got from Purple Burrito!

I just had the best fish tacos I've had in Springfield, and I got four of them for $4 (Taco Tuesday). I don't write reviews, but I had to. Check this place out if you haven't!

"Purple Burrito" is a great place to go if you like California still Mexican cooking. There prices are good for the quality & amount of food you get. I especially like there shred beaf tacos and there California Burritos now if you get one of those California Burritos you better be hungry they go over a pound+ each. They are good to share. I eat here at least once a week. Service is good too.

Nice staff. Good atmosphere. Fast service. Quesadilla was good. Cilantro in everything. 3 people ate for under $25. I'm from Texas, so California style isn't great Mexican food to me, but everyone else enjoyed it. To me the enchilada sauce was odd. Can't really fault them for a difference in taste though. :)

Good California burrito, huge portion. I really enjoy the chips and sweet sauce. Quick service and self serve sauce and salsa bar. The only slight complaint is that I've had fries in the California burrito that were soggy. Other than that worth stopping by. The tables and chairs are definitely unique, made with plywood and PVC pipe.

Friend suggested it and I'm happy I stopped by. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The prices are also really cheap and you get big food portions. If I were to criticize anything it would be the amount of salt they put on the meat. I love seasoning and tend to add salt to all of my food since I always think it could use more but i got the steak and cheese and the steak was extremely salty. Aside from that it was great!

One of our favorite restaurants! The portions are huge, the prices are perfect, and the food is delicious! Two favorites: California burrito and the bean & cheese. The guacamole is prefect. Always end up with enough food for a couple of meals. The purple decor is awesome!

Great Cali-mex style food for a reasonable price. Customer service has always been excellent. Even their breakfast items are really great, although the fish tacos and burritos are definitely my favorite things on the menu.
