The best eat place in Mississippi. The Sommelier is awesome and her recommendations are spot on!!! Downstairs is the best kept secret in the South!!! A drink at the bar with Chris has to be on everyone’s bucket list!!!!

After hearing friends speak so well of Restaurant Tyler for some time, I finally got to experience it tonight for the 1st time, and it did not disappoint. Appetizers included crawfish dip and bacon mousse that were fantastic, followed by the Jambalaya pasta, which was the best Cajun pasta dish I think I've ever had. (I order that a lot, so my comparison base is fairly broad.) Friends ordered a variety of dishes from the cold smoked pork chop (which looked amazing) to the perfectly prepared risotto (which I sampled). We had a large party and ate downstairs, where the atmosphere, service and drinks were excellent. Highly recommended, can't wait to go back and sample more dishes, everyone loved it.

Fried catfish battered and slathered with a creamy sauce loaded with crawfish is an excellent dish. It's a large plate and could feed two. Grilled mahi with brussel sprouts was ok, but the catfish is the dish to have if you are here. If you want dessert have the king cake but pass on the bread pudding, which seemed a bit rubbery in texture. Service was very good. Fast and efficient.

First time at Restaurant Tyler this weekend. We got the spinach dip appetizer and it was the best dip I think I’ve ever had. Very flavorful, warm spinach dip and the fried tortilla chips served with them were great by themselves. I got the shrimp and grits and the grits were cooked perfectly with the right amount of creamy cheese. The bacon wrapped shrimp were very flavorful. My wife got the fried chicken and she said it was very moist and among the best she’s had. We finished with the “pancake” dessert and it was very good as well. Our server Ashley was very attentive and prompt with any requests. We drove an hour to try Restaurant Tyler for something different and we will definitely be back! Excellent experience!!

Our son is a Sophomore at Miss. State, and our family have dined here on three separate occasions. We were told by the locals that this was the best restaurant in town, and we would not disagree. This restaurant may seem a little pricey for Starkville, but if you are from a larger town then the pricing will feel quite reasonable and well worth it. Every dish which we've had was wonderful -- no one in our family has ever had any reservations about any course or aspect of their meal. The atmosphere is intimate, but also inviting. I love the tiled floors, and exposed brick walls.

Will definitely return. We started with the okra appetizer which was a hit. Our meals were guilty pleasures this visit, and we were not disappointed. (shrimp and grits, pork belly pasta, and fried chicken with Mac & cheese). We were welcomed at the door with great service throughout.

So far my favorite restaurant in Starkville. I've been several times and the service has always been great, and quick. Last night my husband and I got the crawfish dip as an appetizer and it was delicious. You should package the chips and sell them in the store. I got jambalaya pasta as my entree and it was spicy, and flavorful. My husband also loved his steak! Thanks for a great dinner!

Their specialties and the atmosphere is great. Innovative menu. Best fried chicken I've ever had. Service is slow and servers are understaffed. Steaks are very average. Ordered a rare NY strip. Received a medium rare with a cold exterior and had to ask for them to warm it up. Also, the steaks are advertised as wagyu, but mine was actually very lean, which was a disappointment. My friend ordered the ribeye, and it was a disappointingly thin 0.5inch cut. No steak should be less than 1inch thick. Chimichurri was primarily oil and not the more leafy texture that it should be. Overall, pretty good restaurant with excellent specialties. Would benefit from stepping up their steak game (THICKER steak, higher quality cuts) and service speed. Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure food is served hot.
